      Vincent Trudel I have a better question; In what way (if any) is Quebec better off without Canada? It was very clear from beginning that there was lack of planning on behalf of the separatist side. No separatist politician has ever shown evidence of a real and concrete vision on how Quebec would fare without Canada in the entire history of this province. Here’s the hard truth: Quebec will NEVER separate from Canada. Therefore, you’re advocating for a lost cause. Furthermore, what is the point of voting in federal MPs from the Bloc? In essence, you’re taking away a seat from a person that works hard to make Canada a better country, and you’re giving it to someone who couldn’t care less about the country, someone that will gladly take the federal pension, but bash Canada every chance they get. I completely understand why the BQ was around in the 1990s, but the political game has passed it by. You may have had SOME hope in the previous election, but you guys aren’t actually gonna do anything with that newfound power. The party, successful as it may have become recently, is a shadow of its former self; zombified and inconsequential. Also, the Catalan reference from the other guy is slightly misguided. You cannot compare a Democratic process to one that is not. As a fellow Québécois, I understand where you’re coming from, but the means that you and similarly thinking people go about are simply not right. Quebec has it good compared to other provinces.

      @@JoeBine77 So you think Ontario should also be allowed to leave Canada with all their land, money, and resources because they want to protect their “culture”. You act like Canada is threat the Quebec, when in fact it’s the complete opposite. At the end of the day, Quebec joined Canada, Quebec chose to stay after being given the option to leave. The smaller percentage of people who live in Quebec and want to leave (which will do absolutely nothing other than effect the economy) won’t change history made for a reason. Quebec will always be attached and in collaboration with Canada. Identifying as a new country won’t do a dang thing. The federal government tries to stay out of Quebec’s way to begin with. Quebec won’t leave the safety of Canada because they “want a change of pace”.

I grew up in French emergent schools and started to speak in French when I was 3 years old. However, YOUR francophone universities in Quebec didn't recognize my bachelor degree from my home country. Finally, I'm proud that I have earned a Master's degree from the University of Toronto. So I'm thankful for Ontario government for giving me and many other international students such great opportunities. @@cyberpleb2472 it is not satirical. Canada as a country has a very loose approach towards solidifying their identity - hence the concept of mosaic multiculturalism (or salad bowl theory). in many ways, there is no single, unified Canadian identity. this is a good option when the country is new and you're trying to get people to come to this land and beef up the country, but not in the long run, especially if you have such a diverse place as Canada. there is not enough common bond that binds people together except financial or personal gains.
      in many ways, newcomers to Canada are treated as a quick replacement for falling birth rate. in the past, white immigrants from Eastern Europe or Southern Europe can integrate relatively quickly due to shared values and looks. nowadays, the bulk of the immigration is coming from othered groups like Chinese, Indian, Iranian, Filipinos etc. Many of these groups do not feel Canadian even after living here for ages or even the 2nd generation kids who were born here do not identify as entirely Canadian.
      This won't happen overnight for sure. It will take generations but next time there is a political upheaval in North America, Quebec will secede and possibly one of these ethnic kingdoms within Canada will attempt to take their share. Quebec is the wedge that will eventually break Canada off.

    • @fxpxc
      @fxpxc 3 місяці тому

      @@cyberpleb2472 my observation after living in Canada for 10 years is that this country is broken. the multiculturalism has been a pre-emptive move from the powers that be to accept immigrants from all over the place to beef the country up. i believe the strategy is not working anymore. the system is broken. it needs to get worse before it gets better. the US had the civil rights movement and they made some improvements in the past. Sentences like that prove the lack of education that the Rest of Canada has towards Québec. They do not know how to speak our language, they do not know our history which is partly theirs, they do not know our economy or our political situation. As South-Park once said : "the other Canada is hardly Canada".
      Vive le Québec libre !

      To mess Canada's geography up? You do know that Canada was French before the f*cking English stole it from us? You do know that the English murdered most of the First Nations' people? No wonder English Canada is going woke, it has a lot to blame itself for. We want Québec sovereignty because it's the last thing we can do to live free - to have a country that represents us, like every nation on Earth. That's all we are asking for.
