Hi Gemma,I lived at #64 and I was lucky enough to see the old place when I visited.I too also left for Canada..been here 34yrs now but still miss the old place.
Loved this... such good memories. I used to live at 51 Castlemilk Drive and every time I go back to Scotland (live in Canada now), I get my picture taken outside the house! Luckily, it's still standing - gotta love it.
@azzageht I was at #64 Castlemilk Drive from 1970-1980.Was amazed at how much the old place has changed..especially all the old close's that are gone from the Drive & Machrie.
Hi Billy, I remember you and your family well, you might not recollect me though as I lived on Glenacre St. but used to come up at the weekend and enjoyed playing football with you and your brothers (a fine bunch of lads one and all) ps. I'M Mick Conway's brother in law, who lived at 250. Halcyon days Billy!
burooo,I can understand your wife's decision to not go back.I walked around the entire area and almost got lost,so many little houses have popped up, that it threw me off. I walked past landmarks I knew as a kid and they didn't even register with me.
Born in 63 left in 80 but was back and forth to mammie 152 croftfoot Road moved to Wales 10years ago after a choice with my wife seeing this wish i had come home maybe yet
Great wee clip...hope you dont mind I have shared it on my page Castlemilk...From Past To Present on Facebook. Join us there for lots more photos of the area.
The bad thing about Castlemilk is it hs Joe McGarrigle police infrmant living in 314 Ardencraig road and practicing his bi-sexuallity in flat 19 -25 Dougrie road EVERY night with the kids
