Even us Tigers fans back in the day loved Yaz we would imitate his batting stance when playing wiffle ball 🐯⚾ salute Yaz 🍷👍 would be so cool if Mike ( Yaz ) could play for Boston some day. You know he wants to & so do the Boston fans!
I saw Mike at a Giants AAA game a few years ago here in Sacramento, took a picture of the jumbotrom when he was at bat to send to my parents to send to my parents so they could see who was coming up. I still have the picture on my phone. Fast forward to a Giants game a last year and I was sitting several rows deep but above him in rightfield. I hollered down to him 2 or 3 times, "I SAW YOU IN SACRAMENTO!", sure that he couldn't hear me. But then he threw a threw a "tossing the ball around between innings" ball to me. 😁
I was at a card show wear Yaz was signing. I was talking to a guy that worked for Yaz. Seems as though his son played minor league ball he retired never reaching the majors and moved to England. His son wants nothing to do with baseball
LOL! Sorry....YAZ is the best ALL AROUND.....EASY.....Manny's fielding? Ortiz's fielding.....combined ZERO gold gloves....YAZ.... 7 gold gloves....besides he is STILL 8TH on the ALL TIME hit list.......that is in the ENTIRE HISTORY of baseball.....YA.....he is the greatest living RED SOX. I will give one thing to ORTIZ though.....best CLUTCH HITTER I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFETIME OF 58 YEARS......
Major Sox fan here, since I first walked into Fenway at age 11 after my folks moved to Boston from LA and I left the Dodgers in my rear-view mirror. Loved Papi, he carried the Sox for years. But Yaz carried the Sox more, and in more ways. He was a full-on ballplayer on offense and defense. He played the Monster like a concert pianist, made diving catches, and gunned down runners taking bases or trying to score. He carried the whole team on his back by insane hitting in the last weeks of 1967, in the days when a second-place finish got you nothing. Sorry, but Yaz>Ortiz, as much as I miss Papi.
A pure moment right there and thank you, Yaz.
That why I love baseball.
Two generations, two different teams, two legends.
Hope Mike has a long career and can stretch it to his 40s. His rookie season in majors was when he already turned 28. Also he is a stud.
Wow what a great moment
For those of us who followed Yaz's pursuit of the Triple Crown in '67...forever legend.
Yaz came close to doing it twice. He just missed out in a tough pitchers year 1968. Loved watching Yaz play the wall!

Sorry Yaz is a forever Giant!
Hopefully just once before we lose his grandfather. It would great to see him wear #8 and play in left field if only for one game.
Goosebumps.
That ball girl 👀
Thick...
….Makes the rockin’ world go round.
@@Caseytify nothing wrong with that!
Thicc
Some things never change: Yaz was a class act when I started watching him play as early as 1974, then when I got to see him live his last two seasons.

So awesome, thanks for posting this.
He IS the definition of CLASS
Goose bumps all the way through this.
Yaz was the player that I patterned my batting stance after, and it really helped me with my hitting.
Appreciate Boston fans for cheering for Mike too!
He has got to realize at this moment that he’s hearing the cheering for his grandfather.
Flashbacks of Field of Dreams right there 😭
Such a great moment
LEGENDARY!
Well, now I’m crying.
Amazing.🙌🏽
Wow what a moment.
Yaz a class act and true gentleman. that's why I named my golden retriever after him.
Now Mike has to get his card picture with honking sideburns like Carl did.
I dedicate this to my father his idol!
Just watched on NESN. I didn't know this was four years ago. I thought it was this season - 2023.
Generations. Awesome!
How many times did they play catch??? WOW!!
The only thing I didn't like about this video was the score. Wicked nice on everything else!!
Wow! That’s so damn cool
i really wanna go play catch now.
캬
How could you not be romantic about Baseball?
Yaz looks good!
They look so similar
Who's cutting onions in here?
How can you not be romantic about baseball?
Carl’s like I don’t care who he plays for I’m Boston through and through.
Dang I wanted to see gramps reaction to the base hit
Remember
As good as at gets! 🤗
Yaz acted like he didn't want to be there.
It's just a matter of time before Mike is with Boston.
ronjon83 lmao
How cool would that be?
We'll trade him if you guys give us Xander 😅
What’s the girls name the one who gave Carl the ball the Red Sox employee?
is he his grandson or what
Yep, grandson.
Polska
Too bad Carl's son (Mike's dad) wasn't there...
