Interesting thx. Kinda clears up a question I have about motors overheating, mine didnt slow down and I could smell plastic burning but really hasnt affected performance since.
I was actually looking to make a video where i drop bait into the ohio river and do some fishing. Now i know roughly how much it can carry. Thanks for the video!
Not bad ! The next time you need a reference for weight remember 946 ml = 1 qt. And water has a density of close to 1 g/ml, and there are 454 g in 1 lb (av)
Super cool buddy...love how you explained everything...and FYI 😆 your voice was not annoying at all...cool vid tho....i have the spark...it was always a thought to how much it could carry. Thanks for this vid
A Ricoh Theta-S 360° VR camera weighs 125 g or 4.4 oz. It would be interesting to see if I could attach it to the bottom of a Spark to get some aerial VR. Of course the issues would be (1) if it could reach an adequate altitude of at least 100 feet up with the payload, (2) whether it could sustain the altitude long enough to get the shot or shots and (3) whether it could make a safe palm landing after the stressed flight since the the camera would be sticking downward from the bottom. Thanks for the good info.
I think it would be darn close to working-and palm landing should work, but I'd mount the camera further back near/on the battery so the sensors aren't covered.
I just tried the Insta360 One and that worked. Not a viable cameras alternative but it was fun, I had to disable the bottom sensors cause it would just keep going up thinking there was still ground below and the only way to get the drone was was a landing sequence. :)
Hi there ive been trying set my Spark up to do Drone fishing but have had some trouble with the Spark thinking the ground is to close because of the line holder and just going up and up and up. I've turned off the obstacle avoidance systems but that doesn't stop the sensors underneath do you have any ideas on how to hack past this? I like the Ghetto setup you had as it doesnt up set the ground detection sensors. But i cant delivere a bait with that setup. Maybe check out the video I made and see where I can improve it. Thanks in advance if you can help me 🤙
Hmm, interesting. I'll have to check it out, and see if there is a way to trick them/get past that. Can you rig up something else that doesn't interfere with the sensors? Obviously our options are pretty limited since the spark is rather small.
I will try to get the setup a little lower so it will hover without thinking the ground is so close and taking off, If you come up with something let me know 👍🏻
I had a cool idea but it looks like it won't work I was going to put my GoPro hero 5 session a camera with 4K video and better nitrates than the spark and a small session gimbal and attack it to the bottom but that setup would weigh almost 10 oz
That will be the next test. I don't think it will make much/any difference since the "max motor rpm" message popped up several times, along with high motor load messages.
Thanks! He was outside at first, but I had to toss him inside! He knows not to get near drones, but he couldn't figure out what the heck I was doing and was very curious in the bag lol.
Have you calculated the weight of having an ND filter and landing gear on the Spark? That would make for a good video on payload since most Spark pilots have one or both on there. Be good to do a battery test with them and without them on.
Dude. Buy a kitchen scale and weigh things yourself. They cost next to nothing
LMFAO i was gunna say
It's 149.18 grams
Excellent demonstration of realistic limitations of lift power of mini drone. Much appreciated
Thank you for spending to test the play load of DJI spark. Save me a lot of time and money!
Well, there goes my idea of having the Spark fly me to work.
Nonsense, just get a LOT of sparks to fly you haha.
Perfect. I don't see how anything bad could happen. Just gotta sync all of them to the same remote...
🤣🤣🤣💀💀smh....great comment
I wonder tho.......how many would it take to carry my big azz lol....i weigh 225
@@albetaylormade7400 you would need like 30 phantom pros
i cast my fishling line with spark, Bait+hook+sinker all under 40grams excluding the drag of the line
Adam, that is exactly what I would like to do, can you describe your set up ?
Will it blend? That is the question...
Interesting thx. Kinda clears up a question I have about motors overheating, mine didnt slow down and I could smell plastic burning but really hasnt affected performance since.
Yeah I wouldn't try too much weight for too long. Granted, I feel like most drones get trashed/sold before motors are close to wearing out.
I was actually looking to make a video where i drop bait into the ohio river and do some fishing. Now i know roughly how much it can carry. Thanks for the video!
Weird video....but I loved it. I admire your tenacity
5 ounces is more than enough for drone fishing. 5 ounces (~145 grams) is also the weight of a pinewood derby car.
That's about 50% of its own weight. Not bad.
Not bad ! The next time you need a reference for weight remember 946 ml = 1 qt. And water has a density of close to 1 g/ml, and there are 454 g in 1 lb (av)
I'll be able to do much better/more accurate measurement next time since I have a good scale now lol.

You will create a better pano for VR using litchi etc and processing in Lightroom.

@@AndreVandal what's the flight time with that Insta 360 camera? I'm planning to try attaching my Rylo 360 but might be more tricky which weighs 108g.
Actual test 3:32,you're welcome
I searched the comments for you not all heroes wear capes
A single Lume cube is 3.5 onces. Think if someone could fashion a light light mount. It could be possible to attach one to the spark?
I think it could work! Now I need one...
u talk to much....
Fuck u
How much can it carry?
can you use this for fishing
Yeah if you had a release system you could.
Should I do calibration Compass after unboxing the spark .. before first flight ???
A7med46669 Yes.
Drone King thank you very very much

I’m picturing a 7 lb bass grabbing the bait and pulling the tiny Spark out to sea, lol.
You drop the bait at whatever height you want. I don’t see anyone trying to drop bait 6” from the water for a bass to hit
Do not let this guy make your pizza at the pub.
Crazy way. You should have put the bag on a scale.
I had a cool idea but it looks like it won't work I was going to put my GoPro hero 5 session a camera with 4K video and better nitrates than the spark and a small session gimbal and attack it to the bottom but that setup would weigh almost 10 oz
Dawson Boyle Can’t you just only put only the GoPro on it ?
You should’ve put it in sport mode
Get on with it will ya!!!!
Thanks your testing
150g for anyone who doesn't want to watch the most long winded answare to this question.
This is so bizarre, why didn't he just weigh the coins all together instead of researching how each exact coin weighs?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah haha, I think it was sleep deprivation or something.
iPhone 5 is 3.95 oz so my Spark can take and iPhone 5 on a one way trip and then I can find it using find me iPhone.
Sounds risky but yeah you could lol
Thanks, nice info.
Lol, nice video man.
Nickels weigh 5 grams!!! Jezzzzus.
I'm a year and a half late, hope by now you bought a scale to make it easier on yourself..
I most definitely did! Next weight test will be much better.
So the answer is 150 grams. Thanks for the video.
It would've been simpler to use all quarters.
Too baller for me.
But I did wish I had something easier lol.
In sport mode it can carry more
so almost a gopro
Thank you.
how much dose the bag way
Seems that the small ziplock bags are 1-1.5 grams. I couldn't find a real reliable source for bag weight.
I don’t like what you did at the end
Very Nice mate ^^ good too know thx
if in sport mode, any diff?
That will be the next test. I don't think it will make much/any difference since the "max motor rpm" message popped up several times, along with high motor load messages.
Why can't you just put everything on the scale instead of all the math??
He doesn't have a gram scale, I think he said.
Just put the basket on the Scale mutch better
Right? I didn't have a scale that is accurate on such a low weight.
Nice vid. Bot I love your boxer dog :)
Thanks! He was outside at first, but I had to toss him inside! He knows not to get near drones, but he couldn't figure out what the heck I was doing and was very curious in the bag lol.
That's why I love boxers. So curious, so nosy whahhahahah. Best breed ever. Keep up the good vids bro :)
Have you calculated the weight of having an ND filter and landing gear on the Spark? That would make for a good video on payload since most Spark pilots have one or both on there. Be good to do a battery test with them and without them on.
Lol why didn’t he just use a food scale to weight it out?
As he said in the video, he didn't have a scale.
well look at you MR MONEYBAGS! Get it cause you had a bag of money?
HA! I don't know how someone else hasn't thought of that yet lol.
0.149 kg
took much talking i gave up waiting, mate go buy a scale.....
Why is the payload important for you? Do you broadcast those info for the good people who use drone to smuggle drugs in jail.
Only cell phones. JK. Just a simple test since lights, gopros, fishing lures, and 360 cameras get strapped onto these things!
David Lefrancois that's an awesome idea. Drone drug mule
