- In this video I will show you how to disassemble a 2017-2018 Kia Forte Halogen Headlight.
This is a simple headlight with not very many parts. It does have a unique projector that is a clam shell style design with a 2 piece reflector. The reflective material on the bowl is already worn and would have started to peel in the near future.
Looks like this would result in a nice candle light at night with that reflector bowl
Yeah looks like crap, but at least its metal not plastic, so it wouldnt melt :D
Do kia use the same projector lens for other 2017 car models? Such as sedona/carnival and sorento? Thinking to upgrade to bi led projector lens. But not sure which one will fit.
Is there anyway to separate the transparent plastic from the blackone with out having to "cut" it? I'm having some issue with my optima 2017 led lights which seems like one of the brackets holding the projector broke so it is facing down, I'm trying to fix it myself but I'm not being able to open it.
You have to heat up the glue. Use an oven or heat gun. You can find tutorials online. Be careful not to melt or burn parts. I don't recommend using the same oven you cook food with.
I need the assembly out. I can't figure it out

First, remove the front bumper. You should then have access to all of the mounting bolts.
But why
Lots of people still retrofit their halogen headlights with Xenon or LED. Kia/Hyundai use the worst/cheapest projectors that I have seen. They generally have burnt/flaking projector bowls within 5 years of regular use which results in extremely reduced light output that makes the headlight nearly useless at night.
