Hastings 1001 'Thumper' visits Midland Railway, Butterley during DMU weekend, 10/9/2011

DMU weekend at Butterley featuring visiting Leyland national railbus RB004, our resident 3 car class 127 in BR Green and visiting from the south with 'The Midland Pioneer' railtour, Hastings 1001. Also featured are some snaps of D182 propelling D4 into West Shed and 47401 moving into Swanwick yard.

I picked up a old magazine that said there was a totally un-powered railbus used by the Research Department at Derby for evaluation.
Was it an example of this rail-bus for evaluation purposes?
I wonder if it survived?
It seems that with twin axles & not a pair of bogies the ride quality might have been a little harsh on some secondary lines.
