  • Decided to start using some pallets to make some raised garden beds, So i attempted one, its not the prettiest raised bed but it's free minus some materials used.
    I Made one raised bed out of one Heat Treated Pallet in under one hour!
    These are pretty easy to make and you can make them how ever you like too.
    This will be a great addition to my backyard garden, Hope you all enjoy it and let me know if you decide to make one yourself and how you did it.

    Great but y don't u have the outside sticky bits outside. Better to have all that ugly timber inside. Besides outside u hit your toes on them

    • @growfoodtoday
      @growfoodtoday  6 місяців тому

      Yeah would look alot better, was just easier to staple plastic onto the smoother side.

    I had someone to make me one and can I tell you it was a hot mess. He was supposed to make 5 after saw the first one I told him that was ok. I just didn’t have the tools.

    • @growfoodtoday
      @growfoodtoday  6 місяців тому

      What was the issue with the type he made? I find screws and straight timbers work a lot better and hold together better look nicer also.

    • @spenc62
      @spenc62 6 місяців тому +1

      @@growfoodtoday first he made it on top of a palette . Then he didn’t use rotten boarded it did last through the growing season before it started falling apart. Like I said I don’t have the proper tools to make it right. And I paid him for it even though I was not satisfied

    • @growfoodtoday
      @growfoodtoday  6 місяців тому +1

      @@spenc62 always best to try diy basic tools.is just needed hammer and nails, drill or screws. Yeah i would of have been devastated to pay for something your not happy about. No dig beds are great also if you have a look how i did my one.

      What ever you paid the guy you could of bought screws and a driver, or nails and hammer. How much you save growing buy a harbor freight cheap battery screw gun and make several beds

      He did the show and tell & only took 16 minutes including figuring it out.
      Faster turn pallet side ways and cut all the ends with 1 past through the 2x4. Only the 2 center 2x 4 need both sides cut through and through
      All in all building it from scratch with 2x4’s and fencing would have took much longer. Using a garbage bag slit open drap over and only need to staple the top on the dirt will hold the sides. Add sticks grass and leaves and kitchen scrap with only a little dirt to plant in.
