Mit viel Talent und Enthusiasmus haben die 35 jungen Musiker der Swiss Army Brass Band die «Tournée de la paix» zu einem meisterhaften Abschluss gebracht. Unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Major Fabrice Reuse und Gastdirigent Prof. Nicholas Childs begeisterten sie das Publikum in Unterägeri, Lausanne, Locarno und Pontresina mit ihrem hinreissenden Konzert.
that is probably the best percussion section I've heard play this piece! So precise! The feature of Prof Childs' interpretation, for me anyway, is his treatment of the 'Power' parts of the song and that percussion section really backed him up there!
The guy at the far right from the percussionist is Laurent Zufferey. And you are so right!!

from which country are you Salvationist? I'm a salvation soldier in Germany and I played in the corps band myself.
This is how Brass should be!!! Ein Maestro, der es versteht aus vielen begabten Musikern ein wundervolles Ganzes zu erschaffen. Hier steht Musikalität über allem - was die Entfaltung jedes Musikers ermöglicht - jeder weiss, wann er sich einbringen oder zurücknehmen muss. Und jeder kann sich mit seiner einzigartige Weise einbringen. Das beglückt uns Zuhörer mit sehr schönen Momenten! Prof Childs versteht es genau die richtige Balance in jedem Moment zu finden, um verschiedenste Klangbilder und Gefühle zu erschaffen (erinnert mich teilweise an George Pretre, den wahren Meister unter den Dirigierenden). Die perfekt abgestimmten und authentischen Übergänge ermöglichen ein wundervoll musikalisches Gesamtwerk, welches in jedem Takt überzeugt. Gratulation an alle Mitwirkenden! Das entspricht genau meiner Wunschvorstellung einer Brassband. Ich glaube, das gehört zum Besten was ich von Brassbands bisher gehört habe (zusammen mit einigen wenigen anderen Aufnahmen ;-).
Hoffe der Maestro beglückt die Swiss Army Brass Band wieder mal.
Da sind praktisch nur Amateure am spielen. fantastisch.

@@zaran3223 Gut moeglich dass da etliche Profis dabei sind. Der Musikanten pool ist relative tief. Mann muss beachten, dass in der kleinen Schweiz praktisch jedes Dorf noch einen Musikverein hat und in groesseren Staedten zwei drei vorhanden sind. In dieser Band sind bestimmt die absolut Besten von den verschiedenen Regimenten vorhanden.

Bravo! Das ist die beste Darbietung dieses Stückes im Vergleich zu allen anderen Kapellen, die man hier auf yt finden kann! Fantastisch Ausarbeitung und hervorragende Umsetzung! Ich habe dieses Video schon x mal geschaut und werde es immer und immer wieder anschauen! Childs bringt perfekt die Nuancen, auf die es ankommt, raus und balanciert dazu das Große ganze perfekt aus!

Black Dyke ist hier einen Hauch (!) besser ;-) Meine Meinung...mehr gestählter Glanz, warmes Vibrato und (ab 5:45) atmendes Rubato, mehr mutige Ressourcen in den Fermaten...

Nothing can surpass the International Staff Band in this piece. But these guys sure nailed it.
ISB and Black Dyke's versions are superb, but these guys manage to shave another 30 seconds off, so mad respect!

What a great band and always a great conductor well done you would think it was a Salvation Army band
Super son d’ensemble et très belles prises de vues.
Par contre, certains mouvements rapides sont un peu lents et les mouvements lents un peu rapide (en rapport à ISB - commande du même brass « surement » drivé par le compositeur) pour autant vraiment très agréable à écouter (big chef en face quand même !).
Bravo à tous… super interprétation !

This band plays as well as any great brass band in the world,
there are some little failures in. But unbelievably good Sound and unbelievable high precision. a really high performance it's absolute pleasure to listen to this Band. (just wondering if they realize what they are playing :D )

@@peggycasey588 Yes they are allowed. Just so happens that there aren't any, quite common not to have them with conscription in Switzerland being mandatory only for men, there are fewer women compared to other armies.
