Tieks Update: size 8 or 9 with Comparison

I purchased Tieks Ballet Flats and the 8 I wasn't so sure about the sizing. I packaged them up contacted Tieks and they sent me a 9 straight away! Here is the comparison for you. I ama regular width size 8.5 in average shoes.

I have the same issue. I'm a size 7.5 but ordered a size 8 2 years ago. The fit was perfect then but now after wearing them for so long, I notice sometimes my shoes would slip off the back of my foot. They really stretch out overtime. I ordered some Tieks recently and will definitely think about sizing down. It is really the most comfortable shoes ever! I stopped wearing my Tory Burch flats since getting these 2 years ago!
Thanks for the measurements. It helped a lot. I'm an 8.5/sometimes a 9, but since my foot is 10 inches long I went with a size 9 because of the info you shared and they're perfect! Waiting patiently for your update 😁

I'm a size 9, but I can wear a size 9 1/2, 8, 8 1/2, and 7.5/38.

This review is perfect. I ordered my tieks this spring and had a similar problem. I'm usually a 7.5. Ordered an 8 but figured it was close enough. I wish I had this review then I would've tried the 7. Anyway. I do love mine and wear them very regularly.

I may suggest to keep the size 9, better to have some room in your flats specially when your feet would swollen in summer or after walking all they long.If the Tieks in 8 are too tigh they will hurt your toes and the top of your feet.Hope it helps !
I wish I saw this video before I purchased them!! My feet also measure at a 9.5 inches, a true 8.5 in shoes. I ordered 9s, which come tomorrow. I'm hoping they fit! My feet aren't wide but I currently have an aching left big toe so I didn't want them snug! Now I'm nervous! But very informative video, thank you!

I have very narrow feet. I'm a size 9 1/2, but went down to a 9. They are just right! I'd love to see some reviews from others with narrow feet.
noneya I haven’t purchased another pair after I purchased a matte black. I rarely wear them anymore. I guess you can say it was a bit of a fad at this point.
I guess everyone has different feet and experiences but i felt compelled to update on some of these videos that after watching i had been very nervous about my decision to size up from a 6.5 to a 7. My 7s have been great, comfy from the start, and while a little extra room- no issues. If you don't like tight shoes, as for me esp with ballet flats I do not, I'd consider sizing up if half size.
You don't have to worry about any of that. If you order a size that doesn't feel right to you, Tieks will ship you another size for comparison. You just send back the ones that don't work (as long as you haven't worn then outside).
yep i had the same issue. the 8 was a little snug but the 9 was like a schooner. i figured if i kept the 9 and with stretching over time i'd have lucy goosy shoes flopping all over. glad i went with the 8 bc over a few months with big socks and wearing around house they are just right.:)

Huge help thanks. I am an 8 1/2 but I do go up to 9s from time to time. I think when I order a pair I will go up to 9. Thank for measuring the shoe and telling your foot measurements too. Very helpful. I'd love to know what you still think about them after wearing them to your retreat.

Beware! My starstruck Tieks have a hole in the leather after only 5 months of minimal use and they don't seem to want to replace them for me! I'm devastated!
thanks! I got a 9 and got 8 today to see..i agreed 8 seems to fit better...and hopefully the leather will stretch!
deana porter they should work our nicely. I couldn’t justify keeping a pair that was clearly too big. I don’t wear them now as I wear scrubs full time. But I do have the matte black and leopard for occasion when I have to wear a proper flat

I have the same problem, I'm a perfect size 10.5 and that's why I've yet to try a pair of Tieks. I'm undecided if I should get a size 10 or 11. Thanks, this video helps

I got my Tieks in navy 3 weeks ago and I am between size 9.5 or 10 so I got them in 10 and that size fit me great, so I suggest you to size up to 11 cause the elastic will avoid that your feet slip off from this flats when walking and keep in mind that this flats need a breaking period to mold to your feet, after that you will love them. Have a nice week !

My true size is a 8. I ordered an 8 which fit ok but I’m flat footed and my feet are a little wide. So my next two pair are a 9 which fits more better.

Thank you this does help. How did they end up working for you? My 8’s hurt. I’m wearing them around the house to try and stretch them. I know the 9’s would fall off my feet. I wish they still made the Leopard print that looks like yours.
dgmlmax honestly. I bought a second pair in black and wore them twice. I only ever wear the leopard pair. But I mainly wear sneakers during the week for work. I won’t be buying anymore. They weee a nice splurge but it done.
I had a terrible dilemma like this. The 8 was tight in the big toe and hurt, the 9 felt great but I worried they would stretch out. I kept the 9 because the pain in the big toe wasn't worth it.
How did this end up working for you?
I have this same problem I’m dealing with. Did they ship you the other size so you can compare and send back the one that doesn’t work or did you order a whole different one and will ship back on your own?

I am currently comparing the size 8 and 9 size together. And i can't figure out how they are really supposed to fit. I am normally a size 8 in open toe flat shoes and heels.. but a 9 in closed toed flat shoes. The 8 in tieks fits snug and the 9 fits with room on the side and looks longer but my feet don't come out. I am not sure which is a better fit, snug or a bit roomy?
rafanator I prefer a little snug but not tight. It is leather and will stretch as leather does.
So Whats The Update, Did The Size 8's Break In Like You Wanted, Because I Need To Know, Is It Better Going Up A Size Or Down One If Your A Half Size.

I think that’s kind of irritating when brands don’t make half sizes. I’m a true size 7.5, used to be more of a 7 before I had my kids. Now a 7 is too small and 8’s are too big sometimes. At least the return policy is good. Have you had issues with the stitching thread on the inside of the shoe coming loose? I’ve seen other reviewers have issues with that.

@@hlovesb27 If you have wider feet, I’d get an 8 maybe. I know they say if you are between to go down, but I’m assuming that is based on average width feet? Maybe?
