Lesson learned? Nothing is perfect. Nothing. You’ll always find a flaw. Small scratch there. Dimple in the leather. Some light oxidation. So on and so forth.

Love these videos. Just picked up a new to me 458 (first non-Porsche in 10 years). It's about to get the 10-year-old PPF redone and you have encouraged me to do a full paint correction and polish before the new PPF goes on. Also having had a 992 and numerous 991's, I absolutely agree that 991 is the superior driver's car. 997/991 is really the sweet spot.

N-914 is the best, period. Will it always be the best no, that’s just how the world works. But it’s ability to be used in many application and not leave behind residue or protection which makes it prefect for polish removal (drys fast in AZ), screens (including computer and flat screens), glass and even indoor use like appliances. Hey Matt, pro tip; rinse the clay/decon pad every once in a bucket of rinseless wash to rinse the contaminants from it and prevent buildup. Maybe you did that off camera..If not, you’re essentially marring the paint more and more the further you go lol. I know the perforated design helps to trap it away from the surface but it definitely doesn’t solve the problem entirely. Love the car man, one day I will polish my PPF.

You can eventually decide if you want to rip the PPF off and either reapply or don’t, I was getting like that with the ISF after the previous guy paid all this money for Cquartz finest and then ran the stupid thing through car washes, I decided screw it I’ll just correct the paint take as much of resin based coating off as I can and I’ll just stick with Jes car Ultra lock, you know I got the paint to about 80% of where I would like it…..everybody comes up to me and asked me about the paint and every time they see one of these cars they’re jacked up and I have one of the cleanest cars around in this model line.

Never clay unless absolutely necessary. Iron removal is almost always unnecessary.

@ObsessedGarage You need to say that more often. Every vehicle doesn't need every step every time. Once you've seen enough of them, you'll begin to realize that less is more.

@@timkinley1779 the only step that I would possibly skip could be using the clay bar. Other than that you should always iron decon if you’re going to apply a ceramic coating. I don’t see why you wouldn’t? Why take the chance after doing all that work?

Compared to some other vehicles. Not much torque down low. But once it gets up in the revs.... the fun starts. You gotta put your foot to the floor to get it uncivilized.

PPF doesn’t have a “top coat”. It’s one consistent material all the way through. 🤦‍♂️. You UA-camrs don’t have a clue.

So you're telling me that if you Polish or compound PPF, you're still going to get self healing for minor marring and hydrophobics (on ppfs that claim to have a coating like stek)?
