The TR-8s sounded more true to the TR-707 just more hi-def/modern, while the MC-707 sounded static & over-compressed.
The ACB tech isn't some gimmick...makes me respect those Roland ACB videos with them in white lab-coats a whole lot more.
    Thanks for the upload. Peace

What's the cheapest way to get 707 style sound on hardware? I suck at sequencing drums in a daw so I wanna try it on hardwear

There seems to be more noise on some of the TR-8Ss ACB Sounds

707 remains undefeated. tr8s very similar. mc707 amazes me how different it sounds

I have mc 707 and noticed that it’s tr 707 sounds differ from the original ones!! Are there any ways to get it more close to the original tr 707? Maybe turn everything off ( compressor, eq, etc?)

what this really shows is that the Zen Core engine is just not very good. lol. i mean. its ok in its own right but its terrible at faithfully recreating vintage gear. Roland REALLY needed to stick with the ACB technology. it was great.

Have you actually used it? Youre just judging by this video?

@@djangofett4879 maybe you missed the part where i said "what this really shows" "This" being the video. So no not these perticular drum machines. But i have sat and compared ACB vs Zencore with the System 8 and the jupiter X and the ACB blows it out of the water . So my comment about acb and zencore still apply based on first hand experience. .

Initially I totally agreed without knowing too much about zen core - the main issue I heard was that the decay envelop is too sudden, and everything is much too compressed.
It sounded cut off, totally unnatural decay, you can really hear it on the crash at 3:17.
But then I heard how all the instruments worked together at the end… I guess they sounded a bit crisper - kind of seems like a deliberate decision on their part - but I still wouldn’t call if “better”, just gives you a punchier mix out the gate, but what if I want a more natural sound?

Acb=ANALOG circuit b. TR707 is DIGITAL! whole video is senseless😁👍👍👍people pls learn the stuff and dont argue about acb when having digital machines in mind😂

The output stage of a 707 *is* analog, that's what gives it such a strong character. The samples are digital, but it's four 6/8-bit ROMS decoded by archaic solid state tech then translated into lo-rez audio. The samples themselves didn't have decay because it was somehow even noisier, so they were all filtered and shaped with VCA envelopes, but the clock triggering the envelopes wasn't always on point, so these static samples had movement & life in a drum pattern. Add in all the distortion they couldn't engineer away, and you have sonic magic. If it were all digital and didn't rely on a circuit worth emulating, a 707 would sound like regular-ass hi-fi drum samples, but it doesn't, and that makes the ACB 707 one of the more impressive feats Roland have pulled off! They didn't just emulate analog, they emulated the unique way primitive digital interacted with analog.
