Twin Turbo Acura NSX vs 700hp BMW M4 Drag Race!

- Опубліковано 20 лип 2024
- The East Coast / West Coast rivalry is STRONG today! Representing San Jose we have Steven in his mid-engine twin turbo NSX, sporting a 3.5L v6 supported by not one, not two, but THREE e-motors. It’s daily driven, but shows up on the track too! And from the east Suppy dragged out more of his buddies from @Petrolwerks. This time Roshin’s keeping tightlipped about all the custom fab work they did on their M4. Whatever it is involves a paddle shift and “around” 700 horsepower.

Being able to see trap speed would be really cool for these.
Exactly what I was thinking, cause that M4 was fuckin haulin at the end of the first race
Yo they need to do this honestly! I’ll comment it aswell 😂😂
That would make the races so much better
after that first race i was like but the trap speed would be a lot higher for the bmw and surely other people thought that too :)
@@basetuba exactly :p
The NSX is still the car I'd want, but the M4 is beastly. The driver didn't have to jump the rolling start to win the second heat with all that performance
Ya....typical.
Yeah that bmw was full throttle like 30 feet before the cone haha
The NSX is hands down better looking with out a doubt!!

That NSX was way faster than I expected! Respect to the owner for modding it! A single turbo s55 on e85 is easily every bit of 800whp, on a schmedium boost.
Exactly what they said
New Yorkers 700ish WHP 🤣
Was slower than I expected
Definitely not 700 whp lol .. I was going to say stock motor, sure - but with a built motor that's a lie
Yeah people are getting over 700 hp out of those with the stock turbo setup
@@dominikbleuel4163 hahaha what the he'll ypu guys smoking haha stock turbos 700 whp lmaoooooo no never lol
Basically stock NSX with a tune vs a fully built s55. NSX's are really fast and super underrated.
NSX price is what kills it
@@justincharles6585 yup
@@justincharles6585 yeah this is what really hurt the nsx in the end.. but basically honda was bringing us a hyper car tech for super car prices..i think the price would have been justified if they worked with the tuning companies from early and had different tunes come out over the years..
it's 7 years later and the nsx ecu is still not cracked just a piggyback.. everyone know honda is all about the tuning scene.. except for honda
Well yea it is an NSX afterall which is more than double the price of the M4.
@@justincharles6585
If the NSX was priced at $80k-$100k, it probably would've sold very well. They could've cut the cost a bit by doing a few changes without affecting the overall appeal to possibly fit the budget, as well as the R&D cost being more evenly distributed among many more sales. I mean damn, they barely sold 100 of them in 2020.
My man in the nsx got played dirty they said 40 roll that looks like a 60 😂😂
60 at the low end lol that was like a 700mph roll 🤣
Lmao I thought the same thing. Round 2, it looks like the BMW went WOT like 10 feet before the cones lol
I think by 40 they meant whoever can go the fastest to the start
Was thinking the exact same thing haha! Was like “that sounds like a lot of spooling for a 40 roll” 😂
Ya that second race was dirty but having them both start racing from at least 30 to 40 mph play's into the bmw strength. It's obvious the NSX was being setup to fail on the last 2 races by playing to the bmw strength. The NSX is built to race on a race track not a straight line though electric motors strength is starting from 0 mph which is why it won in a drag race cause the bmw wouldnt have enough time on the straight away to recover from the disadvantage. Once moving though the BMW has the advantage in a straight line no way that NSX could win like that.
Honestly the first race was the true race and the second and third race were merely done to give the BMW an advantage so it can win. Also sounded like the BMW boosted on the last two races and one of the guys pointed it out to him after.
I think the better test would have been against the GTR, but that M4 would have had no chance except maybe with the boost he was running.
I remember driving an 2017 NSX at the dealership I worked at. Best day there. Car required diagnosis so the other tech had to watch some parameters while I had to floor it, slow down, repeat. Even factory they absolutely rock!
To service them carbon ceramics on just half of the car (front/rear) costs around $10k+
@@novemberlima1025 wooow that's expensive

@@SizzaE60 same here but I’m sure it’s rotors u could use for about 350 a piece rather than 5k
M4 was definitely going more than 40 and then started before the cone on the 2nd.
Yes, but nonetheless he was pulling away anyway so he still would've won. 2nd roll race was fair and we saw that there too.
Obviously they wanted M4 to win, form the dig there’s nothing it can do.
Maybe, but the final race(from a 30 roll) confirmed the m4 still woulda won the 2nd race no matter what. In the final race NSX got to set pace and was several feet ahead and still lost by a significant amount. NSX still a great car
@@MrElpajita well yeah its an awd car lmao
Cars with AWD should ALWAYS start from a dig not a roll, especially when your car is heavier and down on HP.
Agreed. Can't believe he agreed to 2 rolls
Right but a roll from 30 mph awd has the advantage
Why not roll, that AWD a lil too heavy no
@@davyjones3803 There’s no advantage to being heavier with less power

I'd take the NSX any day. I LOVE BMW M cars, but they are EVERYWHERE where I live (Phoenix/Scottsdale). The NSX is just so damn uncommon, I love it.
@@BPoweredLove They're very rare indeed. To put things into perspective- in 2020, Lamborghini sold 8,405 of their cars worldwide (mostly Urus lol, still over 2,700 Huracans). Meanwhile Acura rid their lots of less than 130 NSXs that year, and sold a total of 2,558 units since 2017.
Oh and BMW? Last gen M3 and M4 accounted for 111,000 sales during their 6 years of production (over 18,000 cars a year on average).
NSX ALL DAY NO QUESTION ❤
Naaawww.. that M4 definitely went high boost for those last two runs. I could hear the pressure difference. 😂
I pulled next to him at a light and he told me he was 450rwhp. I just laughed at him lol. We did a couple rolls and digs and then chatted in a parking lot after. Cool guy.
Even if the Acura would lose somehow I would choose the nsx any day it’s just so underrated and needs more attention than it deserves

@@haydendenzell680 the original cost 60k in 1990. That's 137k in today's money. Not far off from the 150 they charged. Plus they had to try and recoup some funds for R&D and the cosworth motor. NC1 was a success in my eyes 🤷♂

650 crank (being generous) vs -let's not lie-, over 800whp held it's own pretty impressively.
He said 573hp before adding over 100hp and mind you that’s just what Acura claims, most of these companies have actually been under hyping their HP numbers so his car is probably right under 700hp at the flywheel.
@@James_Edward59True. Same thing with BMW, but it's the other way around. It's almost like they ad the turbos in as an afterthought and forget to measure boost, so you get more than they say you do.😂

that M4 was so far ahead in that second race....
It was going faster at the start when both cars started racing. Guess they called it a rolling race but that second race the guy in the BMW cheated it looked. @@Daniel-pc2ov 1/4 mile is 1320 feet and it takes over 2,000 HP to reach 200 mph in the quarter, so I'd guess these cars are trapping 150 mph at 1,000 feet even with a 40 roll

I feel like the M4 was sandbagging. Plus I highly doubt he “only” makes 700 HP.
Good race though, I was expecting the NSX to do a lot worse.
Yeah, just by the sound of the bmw, you can hear he got more than 700hp xD
He said he made 700 on medium boost... That's wheel hp. Meanwhile the awd guy's saying roughly 650 flywheel and he's not touching the boost. Likely the bmw guy started on medium boost to see if it'd hook(or to straight up sandbag the launch), get em to give up a roll and low-key hit em with all the boost/scramble to walk him. The nsx dude played himself not going right back to a dig on the third race. He was outmatched in weight and power even if they were actually on 700 wheel tune... A roll is just accepting defeat unless you got some sneaky juice to squeeze when you're getting your ass dragged down the strip.
