But Anthony brought the development car from his shop, a GR Supra with a BMW B58TU engine swap. Probably the most one sided race this year lol
Knew the outcome from the thumbnail alone, these races are getting super weak. You'd think whoever is orchestrating these races would have a better idea of how speed vs acceleration works considering its Hoonigan.

We had no delusions of grandeur on this, we knew this was an L as soon as they told us we were running a car with more power, less weight, and 2 more wheels handing out traction. All in all, was still a very fun day, and we thank Hoonigan for having us out. What a blast! Congrats to Tommy for the W
Don't worry about some of the comments, the Hoonigan fan base has a lot of 14 year olds that needlessly complain about the matchups not realizing it's all just for fun

Biggest takeaway for me was seeing how happy the dude in the Supra was even after the race. It’s all about fun in the end, and he definitely understood that.
And the supra guy actually built his own vehicle more then you can say for the child in the audi.

I mean, the brazen idea that “oh well I BUILT my car instead of bought it” is just so overplayed and tiring, it’s almost as if they’re trying to compensate for something they’re lacking. Love the show but I'd love to see an autocross version of This vs. That. More driving skills and less about who spent the most money (in most cases anyway).
Honestly, drag and autocross have the same amount of ingenuity. They just don't showcase it as much here. You can go to a local dragstrip and experience all the variety you've ever dreamed of going all kinds of speeds.

Why do a match with cars that clearly one will win by a lot? Ligther and awd in that surface is a clear win even if the nitrous would bring them to the same horsepower anyway the supra didn't have any grip with the nitrous on

I came there and raced the car I was supposed to. Probably the closest races ever on Hoonigan. I’m talking inches. After the Supras opponent didn’t show up they asked me if I would run him as well. It’s not the lack of desire. Car just got finished few days before the event. Had a 5 hour drive ahead of me and was honestly beat and wanted my car in one piece.

it was my 6th race of the day. As I did 3 with another car. And drove 5 hours there while every other car was trailered.

@@Reno420alex I get that. It was my first day out with car. Didn’t know how parts would hold up etc. Tuning wasn’t finished it was very last second. If the Supra and I were closer I would of done a 3rd race I just didn’t see a point. Now that the car is fully dialed I would of done 100 races for all I care

They might be close on a sticky proper track... But as we all know by now, no amount of sticky drag tires will be enough to grip on this track. Would love to se them cover this airfield with a new nice layer of asphalt... Doesn't even have to be made sticky like the tracks but just a nice thick layer good asphalt itself will do a lot on this airfield

This race and other This vs That races illustrate the difference between drag and a street cars. It's the builds that make them comparable. They're clean af for what they're capable of. It's hard to call them sleepers but they're real nice builds.
You can tell Scotto picked this one because the Audi has a 150whp advantage

You should start doing time trials, even if just a there and back with a slalom. So many of these cars are wasted on a straight line.
