If WT would make it harder to takeoff and land (like actually having to do 3 point touchdowns with close to stall speed) - It would help WT players with DCS alot. In DCS the Modules on Realistic Settings are all having their own tactic to take off and land. And that is also not simulated in WT. Not to mention Engine Management etc. It is like going from driving a Tesla to racing in a Dodge Viper. And you need a lot of time to train this in every WW-2 Module because they are all very different. And then comes realistic settings in multiplayer without autoheadtracking a enemy. Then you need to buy a HOTAS and at least Track-IR and get used to it. So many hurdles that it is almost a shame when people like that try something like DCS. Mostly a waste of their time and the same count's for people trying to help them getting into it! You need to be hardcore to get over this, and most WT players are Shooter People with no patience. I don't want to blame Shooter Fans, just that they have to understand that they enter a totally different enviroment with DCS. It is like climbing a mountain of pain to reach satisfaction. @@headers3445 If you have a 1080p webcam you can use OpenTrack with AI Track and get similar results to TrackIR, without the $150 price tag. You don't get eye tracking, but DCS can't use that anyway, and I found it kind of annoying in the games I play that could (Elite and MSFS). DCS will pick it up OpenTrack as the headtracker controls in the bindings menu. I'm not sure how that would compare with the air mouse though, but it's what I use, because I don't like clipping anything onto my headset. As someone else mentioned, skip the SU-25 and download the community A-4 mod. I'm learning to fly that over in a cold war server and it's a lot of fun.
@@headers3445 If you already have a 1080p webcam you can use OpenTrack and AI Track to get pretty close to TrackIR's functionality for free, avoiding the $150 price tag that TrackIR charges. I'm not sure if that would do better than the air mouse, but if you already have a webcam there's really nothing to lose but the time to tinker with it. Also agree with other posters here, the A-4 mod is really nice, I'm somewhat new to DCS as well and I'm flying it around in Enigma's Cold War server.

It isn't easy, is it? I got over a thousand kills in a day in WT, before I stopped playing any and all Russian games. Just recently got the F/A-18 airborne, still am a ways from shooting anything, even AI, down. It's a real learning curve, but i like to learn, and bonus, Putin doesn't get a single kopek. Watch the cockpit tutorials over and over, then fly the mishes where you start in the air, and go around the cockpit, clicking everything, until you get the hang of it. It's Okay to crash, until you learn it, durn it.
You actually have 2000 Hours in actual WW-2 Planes for real? Remember those aren't Cessna's or Pub's but high powered Racehorses with way too much power and way too small wings. Quite a difference from GA planes. Not to mention that the Me-109 killed more Piots in Training than in Combat should give you a hint how hard it was. And if you talk about the IL-2 Series then go back to your room, your classroom is down the stairs with the smaller chairs. Just saying - "Trimonaslider" should shut you up then.

And for the most of them - This is not worth it!
haha :D ..but he managed to take off :D
Fax. Hire me delta
Alt c switche the mouse to view mode instead of cursor mode (and back, when pressed again). Also there are bendable snapviews an a view Center bind
lol I knew this would be entertaining.
trialing the channel map rn, holy cow is it nicely done.
I don’t understand
@@headers3445 i am currently perusing the channel map for a 14 day trial and am very impressed with how much more detailed it is than marianas, caucasus, persian gulf or syria maps.
@@andrewjackson673 yes they are great
@@andrewjackson673 wait, channel or Normandy 2.0? Flying through the Eiffel in VR is a must for every aircraft game enthusiast XD

go get a VR headset like the quest 3. can't wait to see the SU25 vids don't forget to do training missions
@@rocketcityastro which headset do i buy? There are so many options and I don’t wanna buy one and didn’t realize it is not compatible.
If you have a Webcam, you can use headtracking with open track. Don't need to buy the trackir stuff.
Can't wait to see what module you buy first.
It was the F-15. C i think
Putting your flaps down after landing only increases the camber of the wing giving you more lift and less of a braking coefficient, significantly extending your ground roll
i have a zero zoom+center view button on my throttle, something like that would would help with the re_centering of view issues, tho not the only solution. Youc an also search the keybinds list and filter for specific commands
Sounds like a brilliant idea
as a dcs veteran just want to tell you good luck.......
I am sorry. Because some censoring youtube feature I am not able to post you advices.
😳
Not a bad start. I died probaly 50 times takiing the 109. I use a couple buttons on the base of my stick for left and right breaks for now and it works alright.
Do you know how I can buy separate buttons for left and right brakes?
@@headers3445 I jhave them set on button 5 and 6 on the base of the joystick. Edit if you go into systems menu you will see wheel Break left and Wheel break right.
I hope you can do a BF-109 or an F-16 y'know easy stuff XD
i'd pay to see him groundloop in a 109 :'D
You should really try Marianas free map, it's way more detailed ;)
War Thunder = checkers
DCS = Chess
Enjoy
so theres a few things i can list for help you flying the p51... theres a way to brake one of the front wheels if im not mistaking is LSHIFT+W or something, and if you have a webcam try using ai track and opentrack, this two things record your face and replies on the game making you turn the camera without using a mouse, btw read the stupid manual of the plane... is not that long, love your vids 🤓
and the other models the ppl are talking about aint free... is around 60 bucks 🤓🤓
Just a heads up, you want to put the wheels on the ground BELOW stall speed.
You look like you know what you are talking about
Definitely get cold war stuff, most fun
Left alt and C changes from look to click mode with the mouse. I have mine set up so that i can press a vutton on the side of the mouse to switch between them.
Never played warthunder, it looked too goofy. Took off and landed a warmed up p51 1st try but I fly IL-2 regularly. I'm working on the Huey right now in DCS. That will break your brain. Yes get a head tracker....
It got floaty because more flaps generates more lift
I don’t think I extended my flaps. Someone else said it was ground effect which I think might be true.
@@headers3445 Oh really? The last landing I thought I heard you say full flaps, couldn't hear much my partner was asleep haha. But yeah probably ground effect otherwise
@@EthanolEnthusiast I said that I forgot about my flaps. I might’ve put them down at that point, but I forgot it was a couple weeks ago when I recorded it.
Be kind to yourself... Get a Track IR5 and el cheapo creapo rudder pedals, rocking the tips of the pedals are the brakes and you can set sensitivity in axis settings... except the spitfire, and that ones brakes and steering are a real treat... Those things even work in WT,
Gramp's will never be the wiser 🤣😂🤣
Trial the F18 for 2 weeks and reach out to me and I’ll “make a man out of you” lol
Part3, I bought a Warthog HOTAS!
Landing at faster speeds than jets…not so healthy.
If you get trackir now your flight sim career can begin
@@speedkiller3026 I have an air mouse that i clip to my hat lmao
You need head tracking. You'll get spanked
@@headers3445 If you already have a 1080p webcam you can use OpenTrack and AI Track to get pretty close to TrackIR's functionality for free, avoiding the $150 price tag that TrackIR charges. I borrowed one from my boss and comparing the two it was close enough to not buy the TrackIR.
@@headers3445 all the casuals use headtracking and utilise Supermans zoom vision super power.... real men fly in VR :P
hey if u have a web cam there is a free software called ai track and open track that u can use as head tracking
@@ianwilloughby-f7p i could invest but i don’t have one
trust it’s worth it’s what i use for dcs
also hurry up n make part 3 this was the most i enjoyed a dcs vid in a while
Well I started with spitfire lol that thing is handful on the ground and in the air then I jump in to p51 and I was like pro lol difference in handling is day and night.
the irony being the Mustang is like a tamed ranch horse and the Spitfire is like a bucking Stallion that won't break XD
(for those that don't know: A Mustang is a "feral" free-roaming horse)
If you ever want any tips or just someone to fly with I have over 2k hours on dcs and would be more than happy to help
Would love to fly with u :)
All the free stuff with weapons is low fidelity.
Flaming cliffs pack is all low.
All the good shit is $$$
you really know how to fly and land this thing but the camera and the control ruined it all
It isn't easy, is it? I got over a thousand kills in a day in WT, before I stopped playing any and all Russian games. Just recently got the F/A-18 airborne, still am a ways from shooting anything, even AI, down. It's a real learning curve, but i like to learn, and bonus, Putin doesn't get a single kopek. Watch the cockpit tutorials over and over, then fly the mishes where you start in the air, and go around the cockpit, clicking everything, until you get the hang of it. It's Okay to crash, until you learn it, durn it.
bro i'm pretty sure DCS devs are russian too, as is IL-2^^
if you want a decent plane sim theres like no way around it :
If you have the auto rudder de selected in the tf-51 options menu then your rudder game is budder. But if you haven't give that a go 😉
You land way too fast. Use flaps to slow down during the aproach. You can also slowdown with rudder by making the plane go sideways for a while.
i think he uses keys for rudder, so thats no bueno :D
The ground handling of the ww2 planes is terrible and not realistic. I have 2000 hours in tail wheel and I have a hard time.
Try the A-4E mod. It’s free and it is amazing.
