Thank you for your very helpful video! I have owned my mavic pro2 for over a year now and have yet to try Waypoints because primarily I am somewhat fearful doing some flights. I guess I don't wish to lose or crash my precious investment though I do have DJI refresh. I particularly liked how you presented the "on location" method which gives me reassurance. I will plan one soon, thanks.
Yes, I would avoid the method based on a map, as it is quite dangerous. The one on location is extremely useful. Another security tip: you have several choices about the behavior of the drone at the end of the mission. Avoid the choice landing, as it can be really dangerous
I agree with everything you said. Seems that we have the best of both worlds. Set waypoints manually while flying, then use Waypoints 2 features to tweak it if needed. I learned a lot. Thank you!
Great video, thank you. I went out to try this way of setting the waypoints as you showed and this is what happened. I could set the waypoints by flying to each one and clicking C1. Then I would click the GO button and it would bring up the Task Check page where I set the Cruising Speed and Arc, then I clicked Start. The drone flew back to the first waypoint like it should, but then just hovered. It hovered at the first waypoint and never moved. Also the camera didn't start recording. I tried several times with no luck. Any ideas why this would be? I'm flying the Mavic 2 Pro.
Hi, I cant seem to get it to work the same as you. I cant do any pre-flight planning. it says "cannot use funciton without taking off" i am using a samsung s7. Any suggestions?
Sorry to hear this, I cannot really help as it works very well with my Lenovo tablet. I assume you are connected to the Internet. I must say that I bought a Lenovo instead of a Samsung, as I have heard that Samsung has a different Android, not always fully compatible. If you are still having issue, try it with a different device
Sorry, I should rephrase my question; what I mean is to fly a waypoint mission from a point where there is an obstacle between me and my drone during the mission, will I lose signal???
Very good video. I watched many waypoint videos - you seem to have practical experience and point out useful stuff others don't. I tried to get good shots with manual navigation so far but it's very hard to do. The waypoints seem to help alot. One more thing you seem to have experience is post processing colors. Wonder how you do it
Thank you Olivier, I am using Waypoint more and more and they allow for buttery smooth shots. For color correction I use After Effects. I have also tried plenty of different LUTs, until I found a couple that I really like
Why not use satellite image on the map , it would make placing waypoints and points of interest more accurate , I can see the benefit of using both methods though.
Yes, I agree. The satellite image is a bit more accurate. But still most of the obstacles are not visible and framing not as accurate as with the camera view
very useful video and I agree with you, I just hope that sooner or later the dji will produce a version that allows you to program and simulate the flight via the web (like lychee) so you can plan it from home, and last but not least the possibility to export schedules on cloud, at the moment if you plan the flight on smartcontroller can not move it on iphone (between android to android would seem to move the file waypoint.db )
Hi, Waypoint 2.0 is available on DJI GO4 for Mavic 2 Pro and oom. Something very similar is available for other Mavic models through Litchi, a third party app
Setting live points with C1 is the only way to go. Thank you
... I also much more prefer the old one method. In 8:21 you pointed c2 insted od c1. Agree?
You are right,
I pointed to the wrong button, my mistake.
I will add a sticky at the top of this thread
Best video on waypoints I've seen yet.

Live C1 setting of waypoints is the best!! Thank you
I agree if it works like mastrr Vic video so smooo
do you have to set C1 button before you flight if so to what setting ?? i hope you can help
thsnkd
Great video, you changed how I’m going to plan missions in the future. Thank you
Well Done That Man! I've been struggling with Waypoints and your method is logical, simple and the results are excellent.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Many thanks,
Glad it helped!
Grate tip to use C1 when flying!
Glad it was helpful!

Love your videos, Question; can I fly waypoints out of LOS?
Many thanks for this excellent video, Vic - I recently purchased a Mavic 2 Pro and am keen to explore the hyperlapse potential
I didn't have a clue. Thanks for making the video.
Happy to help!

Very helpful. I agree that using just the map is dangerous.
Thanks,
yes, using the map is dangerous, time consuming and leaves me without a clue about my final result.
Setting points while flying rocks!
lots of good points! You definitely have me reconsidering buying Litchi. Thanks!
Thank you Ronnie,
Glad I could help!
Thank you once again Vic for your useful and entertaining video!
Thank you very much for this 🙂
My pleasure 😊

WHAT APP?? DJI FLY or DJI Go 4 APP? Why cant I find this anywhere, Mavic Air 2. Does it exist??

@@VICVideopIC Ugh, just like the Parrot I have to buy it. Unreal...
Flight plan seems pretty useless when most countries have vlos requirements.
This is true, although I generally plan very short missions, fully in VLOS
... but still the video was exellent!
