yes, highest rated by pitchfork- which also gave Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born to Die’ a 5.5 rating back in 2012. we now can all recognize that Born to Die was one of the most influential albums of the last decade. in 2021, pitchfork ‘reassessed’ their score and said they wished they had given it a 7.8 score. olivia got an 8.0 on GUTS… don’t get me wrong, i love olivia and think she’s super talented (and GUTS is a fantastic album!), but i think most people can see that Born to Die is worlds above GUTS. that’s not to say GUTS is bad- it’s to say that Born to Die was an album so genius that it completely changed pop music as a whole. so, i think we can safely say that having the highest rating by so-called ‘music critics’ doesn’t mean a whole lot. however, a lot of these music critics are the same people who vote for the grammy winners, so-in that sense- you are spot on that she has a good chance.
agreed! if the grammys chooses the SOTY winner based on songwriting, then Lana is the obvious choice. lyrically and melodically A&W is an absolute masterpiece- and the grammys would be completely stupid to not see the genius. however, NFR didn’t win album of the year in 2020 (which i would argue was probably the biggest grammy snub of all time), and lana has never won a single grammy, so i don’t have much hope that the grammys will recognize her- unfortunately. hopefully they prove me wrong this year and finally recognize lana for her un-paralleled influence on pop music over the last decade!
I want a Grammy for Miley!! Flowers truly deserves to be the song/ record of the year. This is the time for her. As for Olivia, it’s a good but not an outstanding album/song ( she had and will have better ones). The Same can be Said about Taylor ( and I’m a big Swiftie, but let’s be objective). As for Lana (I love her), I don’t want her to get a Grammy for this Album because it would be the Leo DiCaprio situation, when a person has been snubbed for so many years, making masterpieces, and then got an award as a consolation prize to silence the dissatisfied voices… For her it would be way cooler to do without it. Lana deserved many Grammys, but the Grammys do not deserve Lana!!
The Grammy's are not given for what an artist is known for but what the top achievement was during that year. Taylor's songs are good, but every year there's another great entry that beats them all. In English lit courses, they don't study Taylor like they do others.

Unpopular opinion, Dua Lipa is so overrated!! She is pretty and very charismatic, her songs are sparkly and so are her outfits. The Problem is that her music has no depth… To be honest, all of her music sounds the same… It’s a dance pop that sounds nice at the sumner dance party. However, I could never imagine why would anyone listen to it with headphones on with a straight face, actually trying to hear the lyrics…
