Warm Springs - Nevada

Warm Springs is nothing but a ghost town now. But, even though the town has been deserted, the hot spring water keeps flowing! The water source originates from a spring on the hillside and flows down to the valley below. The residents from before diverted the water into a pool which is unfortunately closed for swimming.
You can still touch the water outside of the fenced-off pool and it's about 105 degrees Fahrenheit.

In the early 1980's I and 5 others claimed a stake about 10 miles up the mountain from Warm Springs, hoping to find gold. We spent a fair amount in Warm Springs at the cafe and took baths in the small building where a "bathtub" was carved out of stone and the warm water flowed over us...we also ate at the cafe and made calls to our families from the pay phone in the cafe. Great memories!
