Woops, messed up yesterday and put a Patron only Cut out on YT. If you were fast enough to see it before I made it private again, consider yourself lucky ;) Also.... TGIF EVERYBODY!!
You and Seth are the reason I spend so much time money and energy and money on biking and I couldn't love every second of it anymore!!!! keep up the rad shit
Thanks for doing this, Alex. For those of us who have taken other paths in life, you offer a glimpse of the other choices. I would never trade my daughters for life on the road, but I envy your experiences. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
So cool! I am a Colorado native and started mtb riding 18 months ago. Obtaining skills and fitness to ride my native state. Definitely want to hit this one someday! Bonus to ride where the Singletrack Sampler gets super STOKED!!
I am glad I found this channel, Inspires me to get out and ride so much more ! My bike went from being barely ridden to being the dirtiest sl*t on the trails. Stay Stoked !
I rode it for the first time on Monday, and it was truly incredible to experience it during the fall season. We likely had one of the last rides of the season since Monarch is currently being hit by snowstorms.
Nice video it inspired me to get back on a mountain bike and after watching you shred it i maybe went to fast and about 5 minutes into my ride crashed and cut my leg. Well, at least i can sit here and watch all of your videos.
Haha Hell ya man. You can ride monarch crest as a loop you know.... lol. Good luck with that one. I did Ride the Rockies this year(road bike) and the final day we came over monarch pass from gunni and to Salida in time to make Fibark. My brother met me in Salida to pick me up, I was half tempted to tell him to drive my mountain bike to the top of the pass for me so I could ride the crest back to Salida instead of the road. I hit 60mph on the descent to salida coming down monarch pass road so still got my fill of adrenaline lol. The crest is life.
I know exactly what you mean about feeling the chunky stuff in your arm from the descent. I tipped over on an adaptive trike on a test ride last Saturday right onto my elbow and could feel it Sunday and Tuesday when I rode. The chunk isn't kind to wounds like that. Awesome video BTW, absolutely want to ride there.
Another great video! Keep them coming. I really wanted to join you in Crested Butte but I don't think I have the cardio conditioning to hang. Hopefully another time. Keep stokin' it!
I'd so be down for that Chasing Epic trip if I wasn't already going to Canada that week! That's a valid excuse, right?! You, BKXC, and Seth should team up for an epic Chasing Epic trip next year! With some advanced notice, I'd love to come!
Howdy, Alex! I hope you're healing up well (I'm sure by now your injury is at least a week if not longer in the past). I'm going to sit here at eat some potato chips while I watch your video. So without further adieu, let's ride bikes! 1:28 - What kind of tool is this, anyway? 9:15 - The downhill is the whole point of putting up with the suck, though, right? On the trail I ride a lot, the top of the trail is exactly the midpoint (in distance) of my ride. I put up with the climb because the descent is so much fun. Although to be honest, I don't absolutely hate the climb. The climb is where I burn most of the calories on use on the trip. So I'm grateful for it. 11:24 - "Get to bring people together through them." And that's really what it's all about. The riding of bikes is fun, but the connections and friendships we make doing this is the best part. And we thank you for your efforts, Alex! 14:45 - Send it! 19:20 - "I'm going irresponsibly fast!" Yes. Yes you are. Haha! 20:26 - I'm not too fond of loose gravel either (It's pure coincidence that my name is also Brian 😂) The ability to just be in the middle of a road trip and say, "hey! I want to go on a bike ride" and then just pull over and freakin' go on a bike ride...that must be such a feeling of freedom. I need to figure out something that can let me have that kind of freedom. Not necessarily where I'm doing road trips all the time (need SOME stability for my wife and kids), but to be able to have the freedom to just take off and go somewhere to ride would awesome. My little community of Sierra Vista is trying to be more bike friendly, but we have a long way to go. It'd be nice if someone would build a bike park for us, with pump tracks and jumps and well maintained trails. For now, the closest thing we have is a race course on the Army post. Outside of that, we have a couple of trials that are fun or there's some places that aren't terribly far by car. But they take time to get to and that's where I need that freedom. I do wish I could join you on your Chasing Epic ride. All my PTO from work is spoken for this year, and there's the cost factor as well. But maybe some day. Until next time, #LFRHGS, stay upright and keep the rubber side down!
Good to see you hitting up the Crest again, this is one of the first videos I watched on your channel when you rode it with Brian. I would so hit up that Chasing Epic trip if I did not have to pay big money on some dental work coming up about the same time as the trip. I know I will get my chance to ride with you some day!
The first time i have found out about your channel was when you rode this trail with BKXC. The extended one on patreon is one of my favorites! You really dont know how lucky you are to have this kind of singletrack trails. Where i come from the longest one is about 3-4 miles :(
Oh trust me, I definitely know how lucky I am and how awesome this trail is. Thankful to ride it each time. That's awesome that about a year ago you found the channel through this same trail!
Nice, on the patreon cut I actually learned how to use that hanger adjustment tool, I haven't yet needed it, usually when there done, they are DONE! I would have slapped the new one on and fixed the bent one later!
Beautiful views. Not sure about the double track/fire road portion of the trail. The only one I've ever ridden that kept my interest was on upper Porcupine. That having been said, I'm sure the rest of it is well worth the effort, along with the vistas. Thanks again for the videos! Shred on sir....
Trails like that are so rare in Colorado. Most of the alpine singletrack in Colorado is in designated wilderness, so no bikes allowed. Though in recent years they have chosen to allow bikes on certain 14ers. I watched a pair of guys carry their bikes up Mt Elbert a few years back.
Ah nice! Just did this for the first time two weeks ago and loved it! Interesting idea to do it as an out and back, if im by myself Ill have to try it that way.
haha im a late bloomer too takes me a while too warm up a get my groove on then i blast past everyone i shred with so glad i found you ytube channel you shred keep vids coming
Put a down payment on a Stumpjumper 650B Elite yesterday... The store was selling it out, tons cheaper than when I started lookin' at it. Can't wait to get it! Need my stoke!
Man, I wanted to do the CE trip so bad, but I couldnt make it work that week :( not to mention I have never done 4 straight days of riding, lol. hope you do another one next year!
did you do that tough little climb clipped in? DO you ride with clipless pedalls?? the gimbal doesnt really show how steep it is...the way it looked i would have tried to just power through it but i have no idea how hard or long that climb is...kudos for going back till you got it dude!
Hey Alex love the vids. You should check out the trails in El Paso TX if you ever want to see a different kind of beauty and are nearby. Nothing but rock gardens and cacti everywhere. Keep it up man!
This made it official. Im defiantly going to plan a trip out to salida since its so close. Is there a trail map app that you recommend or is there somewhere there i can get some maps?
Yeah, I'm sketched out by loose travel too when going fast. It is amazing how much different my GFs fat bike feels compared to my 27.5 on that loose stuff.
Hey man, loving the vids, got my fat butt back on the bike because of you, Seth, and Phil. I know you're exploring Colorado but if you get close to Durango I would love to see what you think, maybe even ride with you, on the Alien Run trail north of Aztec, NM (about 50 miles south of Durango) either way keep up the good content!
I haven't been to Taos for many years and never been to Angel Fire. From my understanding both areas are really nice. Angel Fire is more of a ski resort area and supposedly have killer mountain bike trails but I have yet to ride it. That's a goal for maybe next summer.
Since you're in Colorado my man there are some trail u might like. Lair o the bear Matthews winters Highlands point (not great but fun) Waterton Canyon
Hi, your channel always cheers me up when I'm stuck in the office! :) What are the rules for riding trails in the US, over here in England we shouldn't ride on footpaths but ok on bridal ways or man made trails?
Dude I rode there for my very first mountain biking experience and it was epic!!!! We went up and we’re there for the Bells race, went scuba diving and scored some copper and saw a Taiko drum act at Big Top Chetaqua. Unbelievable place.
Our ministry of tourism is really trying to market Israel as a winter mountain biking destination so a couple of years ago a few groups of pro riders and MTB blogers were invited to ride here (all expenses paid i believe). for example www.vitalmtb.com/videos/member/Road-Trip-Israel-Trippin-Worldwide-Inc-Episode-1,26303/iceman2058,94?cpage=1&csort=desc&embed_type=&page_a=27&page_b=1 If you're really serious about it you should try to contact these guys:sababike.com/ Maybe something can be arranged ;)

theres just one problem with watching all your vids bro...im starting to feel like we've been buddies since the 6th grade and we have been riding for ever together...i just laughed out loud at mu self cuz i literally caught myself talking to you when you hit that first down hill just before you met those hikers!!
Woops, messed up yesterday and put a Patron only Cut out on YT. If you were fast enough to see it before I made it private again, consider yourself lucky ;) Also.... TGIF EVERYBODY!!
I did...hahaha
I honestly thought it was a 50K bonus. Except you forgot to say so. ;)
It's still up?!
Wait up man, it's gone now. Guess I just caught it ha!
The Singletrack Sampler hey Alex you should buy an camper. Just a thought: :) love your clips
I think that's my favorite type of trail. Mountain side, high speed, goat trail kinda stuff! Love it man.
Yea I love the high alpine stuff so much
I think usually if the trail has the word "Ridge" in the name, it's gonna be like that
As I look outside to the miserable Scottish weather, I thank you for that great 20 minutes of escape.
Such a beautiful place!
You and Seth are the reason I spend so much time money and energy and money on biking and I couldn't love every second of it anymore!!!! keep up the rad shit
Dude! That was the old, pre injury STS..... Fast, shredin' and screamin'.... Good stuff and that trail looks incredible.
Thanks for doing this, Alex. For those of us who have taken other paths in life, you offer a glimpse of the other choices. I would never trade my daughters for life on the road, but I envy your experiences. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
I got a big kick out of "I'm going irresponsibly fast!" xD
Love your energy and enthusiasm!
Watching your videos is the second best thing to riding. Always looking forward to the next one, never disappointed.
Congrats on the 50k
So cool! I am a Colorado native and started mtb riding 18 months ago. Obtaining skills and fitness to ride my native state. Definitely want to hit this one someday! Bonus to ride where the Singletrack Sampler gets super STOKED!!
I love Co. Lived in T-Ride for 2 years back in the 90's. One of the most special places in the world.
I am glad I found this channel, Inspires me to get out and ride so much more ! My bike went from being barely ridden to being the dirtiest sl*t on the trails. Stay Stoked !
17:23 "The Crest can do no wrong." Best quote from any mountain biking video ever.
I rode it for the first time on Monday, and it was truly incredible to experience it during the fall season. We likely had one of the last rides of the season since Monarch is currently being hit by snowstorms.

There it is...50,000 subs+. Great job, Alex. Looking forward to seeing 100,000 subs.
Your channel is inspirational, and the way you are is is easy to be around! Stay stoked.
Yo thanks for the kind words Shawn, stay stoked indeed!
Awesome!!! Thanks for all that you do for our Community of 2-Wheel Man Powered Hell Raisers!!! Live-Life-Life!!!
haha thanks man. 2 wheel man powered hell raisers coming together! 😈
what it's all about beautiful singletrack! can't wait for summer down here
HAHA! Uploaded the right one Alex? Sick video as always. Shoulder still healing up. LFRHGS!
Got the right one this time, I know it! ;)
Some of the coolest places to be is above the timber line. You get to see all the forests below you as well as the mountain tops all around.
Gonna be shredding there first week of September! This video just made me even more excited! Woo!
50K!! Congrats ALEX!
Thanks Magnifire!

Love seeing you ride where I live! How cool is that! I just started riding this summer and love watching your channel! Just wanted to say HI!!
+Dani Leach hey Dani! Welcome to the channel, super stoked to have you! Always rad having salida locals find these videos :D
The Singletrack Sampler well technically I'm a Gunny local. But I spend a lot of my time in Salida :)

so beautiful out there . i agree with you alex with it being one of the most beautiful places in the world
Can't argue with those views!
Great edit, Alex. You're back on form dude!
Thanks Richard!!
Some places on the Tahoe rim trail would give this trail a real run for its money! On the climbs and the beauty, wow!
We'd say TRT is better!
Nice, on the patreon cut I actually learned how to use that hanger adjustment tool, I haven't yet needed it, usually when there done, they are DONE! I would have slapped the new one on and fixed the bent one later!
I've been bending this one for over a year now! Waiting for it to snap any moment now...
did exactly this yesterday. absolutely an amazing trail!
Great vid man💪🏻 congrats on 50k!
+ACE thanks dude!!
11:05 - And I thought I was the only one around who still says "Golly!"
That spider bite might give you superhuman climbing powers man....stay tuned.....

The climbs at Tucson mountain park are insane
Haha! "Irresponsibly fast" Love it.

Wish we had those kind of trail here in the Philippines. Big fan from the Philippines.
Put a down payment on a Stumpjumper 650B Elite yesterday... The store was selling it out, tons cheaper than when I started lookin' at it. Can't wait to get it! Need my stoke!
oh hell yea dude!!! That bike is an absolute ripper!!
Man, I wanted to do the CE trip so bad, but I couldnt make it work that week :( not to mention I have never done 4 straight days of riding, lol. hope you do another one next year!

Thanks SingleTrack Alex! Wish to see ride with you in Texas!
Outstanding video........ and fantastic singletrack...... perfect!
That Ride is so Sweet.

did you do that tough little climb clipped in? DO you ride with clipless pedalls?? the gimbal doesnt really show how steep it is...the way it looked i would have tried to just power through it but i have no idea how hard or long that climb is...kudos for going back till you got it dude!
That dude on the mountaintop was really cool!
Wasn't he? Super chill the both of them. That's a tough hike they are doing through the CO trail too.
Awesome ride place and fast trails👍😎👌
hey! just wanna say what a ride as always a subscriber from Philippines...

Your videos are the best
Hey Alex love the vids. You should check out the trails in El Paso TX if you ever want to see a different kind of beauty and are nearby. Nothing but rock gardens and cacti everywhere. Keep it up man!
This made it official. Im defiantly going to plan a trip out to salida since its so close. Is there a trail map app that you recommend or is there somewhere there i can get some maps?
Absolute bikes has a good map and can give you great trail beta!
Hop on mtbprojects.com and check it out. You can also stop by Absolute Bikes in Salida and they will give you the low down. Tell them I sent ya!
Amazing vid man,love it!👍
Yeah, I'm sketched out by loose travel too when going fast. It is amazing how much different my GFs fat bike feels compared to my 27.5 on that loose stuff.
yea I feel like the fat bike would be really nice with all the traction.
Beautiful trails
Hey man, loving the vids, got my fat butt back on the bike because of you, Seth, and Phil. P S hey I'm looking to buy a house and Taos or Angel Fire would you recommend that area?
I haven't been to Taos for many years and never been to Angel Fire. From my understanding both areas are really nice. Angel Fire is more of a ski resort area and supposedly have killer mountain bike trails but I have yet to ride it. That's a goal for maybe next summer.
Such a sick ride man! Btw how are you liking the Aggressor on the rear? Better than running a Minion on the back?
So, yesterday I watched, what I think was an extended cut aka Patreon video. Was that an accidental upload?
MLO VISUAL it was
Why do you have only one glove on (left hand) btw love your channel Cheers.
Went hiking once in Colorado before getting acclimated.
Nearly passed out from being out of breath.
Wow, did you change your gearing for that climb? You have rear lockout as well??
Since you're in Colorado my man there are some trail u might like. Lair o the bear
Matthews winters
Highlands point (not great but fun)
Waterton Canyon
Where in SLC are you planning to ride? I live here!
Hi, your channel always cheers me up when I'm stuck in the office! :) What are the rules for riding trails in the US, over here in England we shouldn't ride on footpaths but ok on bridal ways or man made trails?
Please go to Copper Harbor next year dude! You missed it this year.
Dude I rode there for my very first mountain biking experience and it was epic!!!! We went up and we’re there for the Bells race, went scuba diving and scored some copper and saw a Taiko drum act at Big Top Chetaqua. Unbelievable place.
You going to ride the front range at all?
bro i am on the lookout for a nice dropper (the more drop the better) and i need external wiring just wondering if you know of any...
Pokit Productions ks lev
Alex what stem & handlebar are you using?
If I wasn't only 15 I would get off my ass and book the trip, Alex!! 😂
See ya in 3 years!
The Singletrack Sampler yep! 😂
Great to see you practicing your religion. I felt the stoke.
I have that same derailleur tool!!
It's SO GOODd
first!
Come ride in Israel someday, we have awesome trails here and a huge MTB community :)
Oh man that would be amazing
Our ministry of tourism is really trying to market Israel as a winter mountain biking destination so a couple of years ago a few groups of pro riders and MTB blogers were invited to ride here (all expenses paid i believe).

If you're really serious about it you should try to contact these guys:sababike.com/
Maybe something can be arranged ;)
how far up does the shuttle take you?
What happened todo the Orange?
Hey do you ever keep track of your rides like BKXC does on Strava?
Nahhh
Out and back, how many miles did that ride cover?
I think that was only like 10
first monarch crest ride in a couple weeks. whats your favorite descent off of the crest?
Either Greens or Fooses!!
whats that mark in the middle of your sunglasses?
I think it's a smudge from them being stored while still wet
Should come down to Australia got some good as trails
Freaking sick video again! 🤘🏻
awesome video. thanks
Well, you've now been on Monarch Crest and Wasatch Crest. Which one reigns supreme?
also... what's up with one glove?
Why do u only have one glove on at 1:55
No glove on the other hand so I can work my phone and take shots!
I'm the same the More I ride the More Charged I seam to get even if I start out sluggish I end up Riding like a Demon Middle or towards the end of my ride/climb..
How long did it take you to reach the top?
Probably about 45 minutes after the shuttle
Oh thought you pedalled up from that parking lot.
I thought you were gonna rock it MJ style, and go with one glove the whole ride.... Haha
hahaha
Could you bkxc and Seth make a channel an do bike reviews hacks riding and more it would be a great thing
theres just one problem with watching all your vids bro...im starting to feel like we've been buddies since the 6th grade and we have been riding for ever together...i just laughed out loud at mu self cuz i literally caught myself talking to you when you hit that first down hill just before you met those hikers!!
I dunno, man, that climb may have been the toughest climbing of the section you did, but I think that stupid steep jeep road later on is the worst :)
Are there supposed to be motorcycles on that trail?
Yeah, they're allowed on part of the trail. First couple miles from the pass, not sure where their allowed access stops.
