    Hystik Manor, whom ever is behind you, ... There are a lot of You Tube writers and artists who retell and analyze fairytales, but NONE do it with more depth, insight, and art than you. Your artwork is scintillating in its brilliance and your analysis is top level. Your jewel tones and wise voice tell us fascinating, deep tales that guide our minds to a time when knowledge and a passion for learning were their own reward. Thank you! You are VERY appreciated!

    Neverland’s cool and all, but does anyone else feel like there’s something kinda off about it? Like, it’s magical but also kinda eerie when you think about kids being taken and trapped there?

      I TOTALLY AGREE! I COULDN'T AGREE MORE, AND MAYBE THE MERMAIDS ARE NOT AS KIND AND AS LOVING AS WE MIGHT IMAGINE BUT RATHER DARK. I don't know if I am wrong but I remember that in the movie Peter Pan in 2003, the mermaids were dark and evil

    I’ve gotta say, I relate to Wendy the most. Like, who wouldn’t want one last adventure before facing reality and growing up? You can always be a kid at heart and still have fun, which I think this video really hit on perfectly.

      To tell the truth this story of James Barrie is NOT of Peter Pan but of Wendy herself. The first part when she is a child and the second part when she is an adult with her own family.

    This is a story about how children of trauma lose parts of themselves and stay stuck at the developmental age when the trauma began. It is also about rebellion against the cruelty they have seen in adults and a declaration to never become like them. When home isn’t a home, a delusional world is developed as a coping strategy. Even the freakin fairy has her dark side of jealousy and manipulation. We lost children long for a mother to rescue us and teach us what a mother should be. Wendy has her own reason to rebel against adulthood, feeling abandoned by her work obsessed, rigid father, and caged by the role of slave mapped out for women of the time. The only one who is truly free is Toodles, because he has completely lost his marbles.

    All the things that I have written her is because I read an afterword of a woman who wrote things about the relationship between James Barrie himself and Peter Pan. For me he is a genius of genius and rather than seeing Peter as a villain, I consider him as a hero, but i know still there is a dark truth. He has always been my fascination since childhood. And the play was made on December 27th, MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

    I'm pretty sure Barrie had no idea someone would pick apart his story like you have. Who do I relate to? Peter. I have had 2 theme songs in my brain since I was very young. "I Won't Grow Up!" from the Peter Pan show and "I'm going to wash that man right out of my hair!" from South Pacific. No way to deny physically growing up in this world, but I've done my best to be child-like in my brain. I was 62 when I finally got married, to a female roommate who was afraid she'd have to move and lose the cats if something happened to me.

    • @MystikManor

      @LeahMcGrew-m2x Honestly, I’ll take that as a compliment. I think stories like Barrie’s are so layered which is what makes them such classics. And your story just shows it’s never too late to find happiness.😊

      @@MystikManor I've basically been singing these songs since I was... 4? I'm 71 now😁. I do agree with many of the people who say that Barrie was a deeply disturbed man as was Charles Dodgson. I suspect that part of what these stories had were they came at a time with there was little 'kiddie lit' (sorry, library term I learned in college) at the time. Baum, as we know, was very much directed by women. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz came about because a woman told him to write the stories he told his kids down. I have enjoyed all these books, but always found that not dwelling too deep into them makes them easier to enjoy.

    It is incredible that regarding the mind, James Barrie actually NEVER GREW UP!

  • @Janillo2782
    @Janillo2782 8 годин тому

    There is a great profoundness, psychology and a real life story based on some of James Barries, characteristics. in James Barrie's work. James Hook, fears time, and the sound of a clock sets him in a panic. James Barry himself, suffered an ailment of his right or left hand and thus came the idea of James Hook. Sometimes i wish i could be forever young, and never to worry about things that i have to do and let it all slip. Thank God there is work for humans to live nowadays, but to tell the truth, sometimes i wish to be free of it all, and simply enjoy life.

  • @audreycollins2676
    @audreycollins2676 5 годин тому

    Disney's Hook gave me more insight as to Peter became Peter Pan. The fact that in this version he was abandoned by his parents and Tinker Bell found him, she became some what as a parent and older sibling teaching him how fly etc. even though both the cartoon and live action imply she's more of a girlfriend. He did go back and fourth to houses as was said because he was longing to be part of a family which he went back to his own families home only to see them with his newborn sibling.
    As for Captain Hook what Peter so called "child prank" by cutting off his left hand just as also said for the god pan mischievous isn't the meaning of what Peter did that was malicious the maturity of Peter being a teenager and sometimes feel no sympathy unless its his own feelings when he doesn't get his own way.
    At least at the end of Hook Peter learned how to cope with being an adult and how to have fun with his children. He wanted to grow up to became a father and his children are what makes him happy.

    I only like Peter Pan because he can fly and in the Disney's film he looks like an elf. I thought the word Pan meant elf but I was wrong because Pan refers to the greek god of nature.

    The Greek god of music was Apollo and the Greek god of mischief was Loki

    • @Chronicallynocturnal
      @Chronicallynocturnal 8 годин тому +3

      Loki is from Norse mythology. Pan is connected to rustic, wild music. He’s known for playing the panpipes (also called the syrinx). His music is tied to nature, shepherds, and untamed wilderness.

    • @Chronicallynocturnal
      @Chronicallynocturnal 8 годин тому +2

      Pan is also known for his playful and mischievous personality, often causing panic (fun fact: the word “panic” comes from Pan!) or stirring up trouble for amusement.

    Although this pains me greatly, I have learnt that maybe in some theories, Hook is the good guy and Peter Pan is the bad guy. Why do I say this? Because it is probable that Peter Pan is responsible for Captain Hook and his friends to NEVER LEAVE NEVERLAND. It is possible that Hook NEVER attacked Peter and it was always Peter who attacked him. I know that this seems far from what we all know, but I think this theory is very probable.
