Darren,my thoughts only. The best Coppice would be Hazel or Sweet Chestnut, with no standards. In a small area, maximum Coppice material could be produced without shading. And then there are the nibblers.Excellent material every time;keep thinking of your comment about not working with an empty arm.
Hello Darren, great vlog and thanks for putting it together. Do you have more areas to plant or is this your only planting for the year? Do you have other varieties you would like to plant but can't run to at the moment? Or do you have the stock you require. because that is all the space you have to plant? We have had a raging storm here and the ground simply can't take anymore water and I have lost a silver birch. The top of it snapped off and it now has to come out. My gardener and I planted 180 Bulbs in the back garden 2 weeks ago and with all the rain we have been having here in Brittany, they are now mostly underwater. I do hope that they will survive and not rot in the sodden ground. I also have an order of Dahlias coming in Feb March again to go in the yard. My yard feels like one big paddock that I need to fill up with colour this spring and summer. When I arrived back in June last year I had blackberry up 10 foot high in the yard and after months or hard work it is back down to the dirt again. Take care and stay warm and I look forward to your next vlog.😊
Last autumn honey fungus appeared on all the roots of the ash we took in that last 3 or 4 years. Was amazing to see but slightly worrying about the rest of the new coppice.
Ayup Woodlanders.
Thanks for the Trees!
Where shall we plant next....?
Regards Darren

Thank you Budo. I’m just about to watch your horse muck video
Amazing you had to buy bamboo canes! I grow my own - could send you some rhizomes if you wanted? Could you not have used hazel rods instead?
Крепкого здравия и успехов.
Thank you
