The most underrated thing about this movie, is that Hercules' earth parents raised him and Hercules gave back to them when he became rich and famous. He gave them a temple. One of the most overlooked actions of Hercules.

As a kid who felt alone and emotionally neglected this song spoke to me in ways I can't explain as a kid. It's a deep feeling and all the love I had to give that was wasted, the love I still had. Finding where you feel loved and where you belong . This is why Hercules is my favorite Disney movie. Hercules reminds me of myself in all the sweet ways

When I first saw the movie at age 8 I just thought this was a pretty good song.
As I've gotten older, I've found that it resonates more and more to me. Especially the first verse.

Far from it! This song is insane! It’s one of the most inspiring, hopeful and motivational songs out there. My favorite part of the song is the long note being sung for “belong” as Hercules soars towards the sunrise. How poetic! It’s the dawn of a new journey!

I was in the foster care system when I heard this song played on a VHS player. I always thought it was a perfect song for the kids like me who looked for a place to belong.. you do belong! You are worthy of love.
Very difficult to say this is the greatest disney song of all time. The 90's era of disney has some of the greatest songs to ever hit the screen. But this is one of the best!!
Go The Distance is such a beautiful song from Hercules. I especially love the part where Hercules sings up to the stars in the night sky because Mount Olympus is up in the sky on a mountain and he’s singing to his biological god family.

As a person who’s from the 2000s I must say kids from 90s should be proud the era they lived in cause it was magical experience that modern world doesn’t have.
I legit have an entire half sleeve of Hercules, since I was a kid I’ve loved this movie and his story, even as I write this this song has me crying yet again, just a boy who wanting to prove himself and find his purpose in a world with no one else like him, then the ones he grew with as his parents (who are still his parents) told him somewhere, he has a goal. Make the gods proud. His family, and become the greatest hero in Greece 😭🥰

Hands down, THE best Disney movie, ever! From the gorgeous animation to the wonderful soundtrack to the totally likeable cast of characters to the kickass fight scenes, damn! Not to mention, the beautifully said moral at the end (A hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart), which makes me still break out in tears, God bless this godly movie and the entire Disney Renaissance era!

Ever since I graduated high school this year, this has been my theme song for finding where I belong and what I should do.
Every year I realize more and more how much this movie was my beacon of hope as a kid. I was this kid.
Vaguely remember seeing this in theaters when it first came out, loved the film and song to death. Repeatedly watched it on VHS too (to my parents annoyance😅).
Haven't seen or heard either in about 15 years, but maybe it's time for a rewatch, as this song is hitting me in ways it never did before as I'm turning 30 soon.
Always loved the crystal-clear pronunciation and technique of Disney vocalists too. Long live Disney💪🎉
