I love doing TBR I will definitely not focus on my beach body lol but my beach heart instead. God is the savior of all people who believe in him. We definitely have to have discernment. We are to delight in the things that God gives us godliness. God wants us to delight in the things that he gives us we have to be obedient to God he is where the joy is. 🙌🏽🙌🏽

    1 Timothy 6:6-7 NIV
"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it."
God, help fill me with contentment! Help me find contentment in You and You alone. Let my concern and frustration and negativity fall away as I remember, You are my source of contentment and you are the source of all true JOY! In Your holy name, amen.

“This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
I love these verses as they serve as gentle reminder of the extreme amount of love and grace God has for everyone; I believe that we as Christians should be beacon of his love and do good throughout our days to encourage others to follow Christ and bring them joy as well as expose them to God’s incredible love. God bless all you today and let’s spread his word together by how we act✝️💪

I can't wait to start over again with Genesis. Reading the Bible is the best decision I made this year. I eager to start again having read the New Testament, knowing I can now see Jesus in the Old Testament. I'm happy, HE'S truly where the joy is 🥰

Let's put our hope in God, not other things, because He is the only one who is able to richly provide us with everything we need for our enjoyment (1 Timothy 6:17).

The goal is to develop a relationship with Jesus where Holy Spirit leads through scripture, fellowship, and manifested fruit in my life. Then increase my love for God and the people He places in my life.

My God shot is in 1 Timothy 6:12. A charge to Timothy and the church, yet for me also. “Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior therefore I should live my life as one whom is representative of Him. God is the One who enables this. He is the One True God! I worship Him! I want to know Him more!

For those looking for more info on 1 Tim 2:11-15 Mike Winger did an excellent ELEVEN HOUR youtube video going over every aspect of these verses. He shows every view, and how the bible supports or contradicts each one. Thats why it's 11 hours long. Thank you TLC for the daily videos! I'm on my second trip through the bible with you, and looking forward to trip #3!

God’s character is revealed in how He wants us to conform our characters to His: in 1 Tim 2:2, God wants me to have a quiet, godly, dignified spirit that prays for those in authority and is not riled up in controversy. In 1 Tim 4:8, He wants me to train myself in godliness, the way Craig Groeschel instructs in “Power to Change.” God wants not just my heart, but a stronger heart.

I have a question from today's recap. Tara mentioned that deacons are a gender neutral role, yet under the qualifications in chapter 3 verses 11 and 12, it mentions "the husband of one wife" and qualities for their wives. Thoughts?

I have questions too. I was brought up that deacons AND pastors can only be men. Also, they shouldn't be divorced. As the years have passed, my church loosened up on the divorced part for deacons. Still have questions, though.

Since a woman could be a pastor in the Old Covenant, a woman
can be a pastor in the New Covenant. Simple really.
I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God.
A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin.
A Judge was cleared to teach from scripture as he/she gave a verdict, according to Deuteronomy. Since in Judges 4, men went to Deborah to be judged, a woman could teach men, even in the Old Covenant in a public setting.

Paul proves that human nature hasn’t changed over two millennia; Western culture has changed thanks to the “Enlightenment,” but the fruit of materialism and existentialism in human character is the same that poor Timothy had to contend with: opinionated loud mouths (1 Tim 1:6). It’s no different today, where saying “I’m just sayin’” is an excuse to air out one’s opinions no matter whom it hurts. Paul wants Christ followers to be content, peaceful, considerate, hard workers, unentitled, and godly. We are to pray for those in authority and rather than rant and rabble-rouse, we’re to “live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity” (1 Tim 2:2). You’d think that since Paul spans the world revolutionizing it through the Spirit with the Gospel that he’d want us to be confrontational. Just the opposite. Men (even those raised in liturgical Methodist churches) should “pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy” (1 Tim 2:8). It’s not a rich portfolio but a rich and Christ-like character that Paul wants us to pursue.
