    This is the chair we have at my office. It's a good chair. If you you have $1500 to drop on a chair then get the top of the line. But if you've been sitting on a dining seat with a throw pillow, or you need to upgrade that last minute office chair you bought from amazon you will see a WORLD of difference with just about any chair that costs more than $300. If you work from home you need a decent office chair, no excuses.

    do you sit in the chair with your hands behind your back?? then seeing how the support feels with your hands back there probably doesn't amount to much!

    Hi BTOD, Haworth Soji + Upside desk combo vs HM Sayl + Nevi combo vs Branch Verve + branch desk combo ? I’m about 6 ft and ~200 lbs

    What about the upper crossbar of the backrest? Would that be hit by someone who, at 6'4", is probably considered too tall for this chair or is the plastic bar curved in a way that it doesn't hit you in the back?

    I'm thinking about buying the quick ship white colored Soji (floyd123 / Asa Parson design), is there a reason why it's more expensive? Is it the cushioning and do you think it's worth the + or should I go for the cheaper one with same features?

      Double check the description- it might already come with upgrades. That’s what I’ve been noticing

    Between this, zody and fern, which one would the team recommend the most for working longer hours and coding?

    • @btodtv
      @btodtv  2 роки тому +4

      Personal preference. I like the Soji a lot though. The cushion is very firm, so probably not for everyone.
      Safest pick is probably the Zody.

      I've used the zody and fern.
      I think the zody has better cushion.
      I currently own the fern. It bottoms out and does not feel as comfortable.

      @@Kevinschart Its a $600 chair i would hope not. The thought should be "damn this is a nice chair." Honestly they dont look comfortable sitting in this for 5 minutes let alone hours, it really makes me want to get a titan evo or kaiser 3. Just like "gaming" chairs got crazy hype and overpriced the "ergonomics" chairs are doing the same thing. Amazing how a cheap piece of plastic for lumbar support adds $40 to the price. Those armrests are a joke and even sound like the cheap pos plastic too.

    Ok, I like the feedback found on this video (except for the comment about the shirt catching on the mesh... that sounds like a shirt problem).
    However, there isn't enough variability in the weight of the individuals reviewing this chair. My partner is on the larger side, and I would've loved to know how multiple guys or girls of 275+lbs would fair in this chair. Afterall, the proportion of Americans over 20 years old that are considered obese (men over lbs and women over lbs), according to a study put out by the CDC from 2017 to March of 2020, is 41%.

      @brois841 Рік тому +3

      Wow... reading that figure is staggering. That's almost half the population!! I'm sure this suggestion will not be well received, but it's well intentioned: if your partner cares enough about his body to spend the money on an ergonomic seat, he should also care enough to eat better and exercise. I realize it's way easier said than done, but doing anything is better than nothing and we're all familiar with the health benefits.
      I realize this is like telling a smoker not to smoke. They already know how bad it is, they aren't proud of it, but quitting is hard to impossible. Still... we suggest a healthier lifestyle to those we care about.

    • @alicewise2393
      @alicewise2393 Рік тому +1

      @@brois841 I totally understand where you're coming from, and I'm not offended. However, there are a lot of inherent problems with how people are classified as obese, so we should take that study with a grain of salt. Firstly, it's based on BMI, which isn't the whole biological picture of a person. It was created by mathematicians and statiticians, instead of medical doctors, as a way to define weight classes. Though doctors use it to do so, weight classes are often conflated with how healthy a person is. For example, people who are competitive athletes can weigh just as much as people who carry mostly fatty weight. It's odd that you didn't consider that even though you lift weights yourself... Secondly, being large doesn't inherently mean that the person is automatically unhealthy. They may eat right and exercise, but for some people, their physiology (like hormones) will dictate where and how they carry their weight. That is certainly true for my partner. He eats plenty of veggies, fruits, whole grains, and cooks at home. He also runs a 5K multiple times a week. That doesn't change the fact that he is a heavier set person.
      Ultimately, my original point stands: we shouldn't be building or testing products based on what we wish people would look like. We should build and test products based in reality.
