    I say this as one of the biggest Wentworth stans, she had no business being voted into Second Chances over the likes of T-Bird. She was overshadowed by her dad on SJDS. But oh boy I'm so glad I was proved wrong when she got in! Forever an icon!

      It was probably recency bias, Wentworth had just played while T-Bird hadn't been involved with the show for over a decade at that point. She absolutely deserved a spot but I understand how she ended up not being voted on (and tbh she probably should've been cast on All Stars over someone like an Amber or Alicia).

    Good list, personally I would find a spot for Tyson Apostal somewhere there simply because of how versatile he’s been through his seasons. He went from a challenge threat people had to take out to a strong alliance players when he eventually won, and by season 40 he was a pretty well rounded threat that got eliminated almost solely off fear of his resume.

    Fun Fact: The only female winner that Boston Rob hasn't played in a season with (that he was eligible to) is Natalie White. Erika and Maryanne appear in seasons Rob couldn't have appeared in.
    Bonus Fun Fact: Boston Rob has also played with every Survivor winner that has played at least twice or more with the only exceptions being Cochran and Aras.

      @Quetzal00358 Рік тому +5

      Agreed. Sarah is a fantastic player and it breaks my heart that she gets so much hate, especially cuz most of it is based on her political beliefs and I think basing how you feel about a contestant on that is really stupid

      @@Quetzal00358 My take on it as a democrat is….its her own opinion, so stop hating on her because of her opinions. It would be a different matter if she was outwardly homophobic, racist or misogynistic, but I have never seen that, or heard of anything that was in that nature. She’s worked with and made bonds with several democrat and liberal players. I don’t understand why politics goes into Survivor when it doesn’t have to, like this situation we are talking about lol

    • @MidnightScout
      @MidnightScout Рік тому +3

      I think the dislike for Sarah came from a couple things
      One, her season. Game Changers was a hot mess with a lot iffy people so people felt like her winning wasn't as impressive
      Two, if people remember Cagayan, Sarah went really hard on Kass for how she played, and then basically played the same way to win Game Changers, so people who liked Kass felt Sarah was really hypocritical
      And three, in Winners at War, while Sarah is apart of the dynamic duo of Cops R Us, the edit mainly focused on what Tony was doing and sort of made Sarah seem like she was riding his coattails, until the finale where suddenly it was "why isn't Sarah getting credit for what she does"
      Sarah, I think, is not the worst winner, hell I enjoyed her much more on Winners at War. But it's Survivor and honestly, when have winners who are women ever gotten a huge amount of respect? I still see people say to this day Sandra didn't deserve to win either of her seasons with their whole heart, and then gives props to someone like Ben.

    • @yellercat500cat7
      @yellercat500cat7 Рік тому

      @@MidnightScout Interesting, because I've been seeing a lot of Ben haters recently. As for Sandra, I can see why at first glance her HV win is slightly controversial, but looking at it again shows that Parv burned the jury like Russell, and she played a decent game on top of it. Her Pearl Islands win is completely solidified regardless if she's up against Lill, or whoever wins the none outcast post-merge with her. Fairplay's biggest ally was a former outcast and Lill stood no chance of winning so I don't see how people claims she doesn't win either season, especially PI. As for Sarah, yeah, between her and Brad being two of the finalists it put gameplay in a negative light, but she played a great game overall despite the competition. It's interesting saying people say this about GC, when we've had plenty of winners face worse competition. Female winners are less recognized, but Kim, Denise, Sandra, Tina, and Parv all get their due as winners, well maybe not Denise. Maryanne was also received generally well after pulling a Todd and taking the victory from Mike. Over time, Vecepia, Jenna M., Sophie, Michelle, and even Erika have received the right recognition to people who truly understand the game the best the audience can. While I do think the winning men get talked about too much, I think given we've had more high energy and somewhat controversial winners be men before S41, does that unjust, plus the edit does make us unfairly hate some of these winners like Erika in 41

    I was so glad to see Michele make it to the final three of WAW, her performance was severely underrated and it baffles me how Natalie was barely in the game and still mustered more votes than her. she didn’t really stand a chance against Tony, but Michele was a social beast and did amazingly well in challenges, I rooted for her for the whole season

      Michele was suppose to get like 4 votes (from what it sounds like, each of the Final 3 had 4 votes going in) but the people who wanted to vote Michele were worried the swing votes were going to vote Natalie and did not want her to win, so it was more so they voted Tony to win cause they didn't want Natalie to win (and not saying they didn't want Tony to win).

      True but Sandra was pretty low-key in HVV not in a bad way but think about it Tom westman DOMINATED palau Parvati won and was involved in one of the biggest moments in survivor history and JT won the first perfect game so Sandra really could lay low and do the same thing she did in pearl islands which was fantastic but Tony after his crushing defeat in game changers had to change and that's hard when you're as full of energy as him and considering he was one of the winners with the biggest targets what he did was absolutely mind-blowing so imo Tony did it better but I am not knocking Sandra both deserve the king and queen monikers

      @@esdeathisbae9480 I don't know maybe I'm biased because Sandra is one of my favorite winners because she makes it look so easy on the seasons that you wins she doesn't do anything spectacular but that's what makes her wins so impressive don't get me wrong I love Tony and I'm glad if anybody got made the king it was him because before him it was Boston Rob and he didn't really deserve that title because it took him what four tries to win and one of those Seasons he didn't even make the merge I mean it's the first time he didn't make the merge but still his game wasn't that impressive especially compared to Tony who only went out pre-emerging game changers because he knew he wasn't going to win that season so he told himself to go out there and have fun which he did

    Michele on WAW did for me the same emotional (and frankly, strategic) impact on me the way Sandra on Game Changers did. They might not have been winning games, but damn did they show up and show OUT. With both games, I knew what they were capable of going into it, but also knew the likeliness of them winning again against their specific juries would have been too difficult.
    Sandra had me fooled for a large portion of GC's pre-merge that she could really do it, and if it wasn't for getting swap-screwed (and... screwed by JT...), who knows how GC could've turned out. Michele similarly probably had the best story out of everyone on WAW. Her narrative thread was incredibly clear from start to finish, and seeing her - someone who didn't attend any tribal council on her first season and get judged just for being a less visible social player - navigate the bottom and skate by round after round, without ever touching the Edge, using that same social game... I don't care, I loved it.

    I like Sandra, but I'm tired of her "queen stays queen" mantra.
    Winning is winning, true, but it's hard for me to respect her "use my vote" strategy. There's a reason the other players didn't consider her a threat. If she hadn't won, people would label her as a goat. Seeing as she did win, it helps that the people she sat by are people the jury was pissed at (for voting them out/plain dislike) and weren't going to vote for them so the default was Sandra.

    I still put a massive asterisk on Rob and Amber in All-Stars. Their march to the end had much less to do with their actual ability to play the game and more the fact that they were the only two members of that cast who didn't have high profiles going into the season. They were the two players who, at the time, all Survivor fans questioned how they made the cut. When your cast is full of winners, runner ups, big villains, and beloved heroes, it was easy for them to hide until they could get the numbers. It's the exact same story as Erika and Boogie on Big Brother All-Stars.
    Heck, Rob was pre-jury in Marquesas, pre-jury in Heroes Vs. Villains, basically pre-jury in Winners at War, and he won Redemption Island on the back of a purposely cast sycophantic tribe that was designed to let either Rob or Russell (whomever was lucky enough to end up on that tribe) win. When you take that into account you can really see how much blind luck went into Rob's supposed legendary status.

    4. Goddess.
    5. You can't respect THI goddess any less than the previous, because, as long as whatever-your-strat-is gets you the W, doesn't it deserve respect? So long as you're not a total jackass about it, but that's why Russ never won. DON'T get me wrong: he's a great player. But he didn't respect anyone. Social game is a bigger thing than he gives it credit for.
    6. DAMN he was great. Amazing strategist, and he had a perfect Final Tribal.
    7. Badass. You had to grow into her, though, because, like you say, she wasn't a huge name at first. Good way to get to the top, though, is just to play an amazing game while ALSO making people both like you and fear you.
    8. You know what I love about Survivor? From season one, it's displayed a fundamental rule of civilization: DON'T underestimate intelligent women.
    9. Is it me, or are cops and soldiers particularly aggressive on this show? And that's not a slam against her, either: I respect her game.
    10. Saw that coming a mile away. Even Russell Hantz says he's the best to ever play.
