I think I prefered the demo version. Micheal's design was scarier, and the 'hee hee' echolocation was both amusing and terrifying at the same time.
No I totally agree and the heehee was scary (like SCARY)
That and the warmer lighting in the demo was more welcoming which made it even more unsettling + familliar
Also the objective wasn't as plain as day where the character points out everything they have out loud to the player-
I am not afraid of that echolocation.
Yeah the og version was way more terrifying. The heehee’s and the like eerie music that would play when he came for you was so scary 😭 I miss it 🥲

Having the main character talk this much was a terrible design choice.
The creepy thing about the first game was that the character was barely audible and gave no hints, only rarely mentioning how much she didn’t like the mansion. Not to mention the complete lack of ambiance music aside from intractable radios
When I think about it, the first game must of sucked for a lot of people. Not because of bad design choice or anything, the game itself was great, but because of the generic loud fans and insulation in houses making unstoppable noise.
Yeah, i wish they just continued on with how it was in the other version just with less hiding spaces and some other small tweaks. (And the microphone thing was cool)
I was happy when i saw that there will be more videos about this game, but this is kind of a letdown. It isnt bad or anything... but still...

Is it just me or does the steam edition kind of lack atmosphere? Or rather, I don't find it as scary as the other one. There seems to be a lot more noise going on (aside from Mark talking obviously), the footsteps, the protagonist talking and the noises of the Ayuwki are louder. I actually liked the quiet whispering of the other protagonist and the suspense build-up of when the Ayuwoki was coming felt more chilling because the noises were quieter and more subtle. Also I like the doll-like model more, instead of the zombie-like one in steam edition. Also seems scarier to me. There was something more uncanny about it.
i agree 100% the demo version was way scarier the steam version lacks multiple things such as
-the chase/near build up noise
-the random HE HES
- a more threatening/monster-like figure
-the death sound and animation
-and the AI and map are worse than the last one
but i do think the new throwing and flashlight mechanics make the game more challenging and overall more like a survival game than just a "run away were gonna die!" type game, it really makes you feel like your are trying to survive the ayuwoki other than just running.
but overall great game! 😄

Yeah, the scarryness of the face really declined. I prefer the original face. The original's red eyes and tendency to stare at you when you hid feels more scary. And I really prefer the original's music cues, this sort of wee-woo-wee-woo kinda thing does not seem scary.

I think that it may be a weird hint. Because there's something "new and exciting" if you don't pick it up through whole game.
I like the demo a lot better. I think the feature that had mark himself being loud attract the creature was a lot cooler and more interesting than having the played character just be as loud as possible, because you can control how loud you're being, but you have no idea when the character's gonna yell about how spooky the house is. I also don't understand why, instead of having spooky atmosphere noises and "hee hee's" which made sense with what the monster is, now it's just grating violin noises. It's just not as good imo.

I actually love the voice acting in this game. Especially the part towards the beginning, where he's comforting himself over "Its just thunder."
It all feels very human, even the slight amount of humor he tries at, to keep himself calmed down.
Absolutely love it.
