When I turn my headlight switch to park, parking lights come on and the dash light up. When I move the headlight switch to low beams, they don't come on, and my dashboard light go out. If I pull on the high beam lever high beams come on but once I let go the lever, they go out. All the fuses are fine. I assume at this point I am down to 2 possible culprits, headlight switch or the headlight relay. Here is another thing I noticed. With no key in the ignition, and with headlight switch to off position, if I manually pinch the contacts on the headlight relay, low beams come on. I didn't know that the headlight relay is constantly powered, but not engaged.
My 1983 Buick Electra Park Avenue sedan was working great in 2022, then they started flickering periodically! Replaced the headlight dimmer switch under the dash, they worked for about a week then back flickering! 8/15/24 replaced the headlight switch noticed it was burnt in the middle & VERY HOT at the touch! Fixed a few bad wires, & NOTHING..... 3 weeks later they came on when I was driving home at night I seen 2 cop 🚓 cars figured I’d give them a try so I don’t get a ticket and they worked until I turned them off! Well they haven’t came back on since & that was a month ago! I’m going to try a relay now, if this doesn’t work I’m taking it to the electrical shop so they can properly fix it 100% for good! (Note the previous owner installed some aftermarket blue lights they may have been installed incorrectly idk) Has to be one of these: - Fuse/Relay - Headlight dimmer switch - Headlight switch - Turn signal switch BLINKER - Column mounted blinker turn signal switch
@@suegeren9347 no I just don’t don’t drive it unless it’s daylight. I’m going to order some new led headlights and a few new components that control the headlights that could be bad and take it to a shop next month & let them repair it.

2016 ford fusion driver side headlight went out. No blown fuses. Cant figure out the problem. Or have the time. It's a beautiful car with only 100.000 miles
I have a car with 1 dim headlight and 1 normal headlight when the switch is set to manual ON, but when I switch the headlight to auto, both lights are normal, would you know what the problem is? Is it the relay?
This is happening to me right now on my way home I have to keep pulling over every 10 minutes because my lights shut on and off to much to drive at night

My driver side headlight on my 2007 Corolla just went out a week ago after replacing it in 2019 I noticed the highbeams were not working as well but after I change the bulb, I noticed the highbeams were working, but the low beam was not. I tried replacing the fuse, but that didn’t work. I’m not sure if it’s bad wiring and the dielectric grease on the bulb socket or it’s a bad relay.

Great info that helped me identify my headlight problem …

@@suegeren9347 that 2016 Ford Fusion is an easy fix I’m sure. Try Fuse or relay first then the switch I bet it’s one of the 3.
