Lol forgive me for I have been watching without subscribing! UNTIL NOW !! I like this tray build and the V bracing on the headboard is perfect as it tucks behind the head rest and your vision isn't compromised. I'm a Toyota guy but that Patrol looks f#@k'n awesome, clean paint job and the colour is mint👌👌 Cheers from Penrith nsw.
You like the diagonal support cuts, the rest of us like the safety glasses sir! Able to integrate a water or fuel tank into the headboard? Keep up the mint vids mate
This tray is really clean and well built! Im over in Wyoming and dream about getting a Patrol. Im in the process of designing my own for my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins. Im probably gonna base it off of your design. Any tips?
When I did my tray I didn’t put enough supports in for the mid guards before I put the floor on just make sure you don’t forget about that before you put the floor on
Come on guys when Shia LaBeouf says subscribe you god dam subscribe 🤣 na but seriously roam life is an awesome channel with quality content like coleeeee the patrollllllll build 🙌🏼👌🏼🇦🇺
I mate looking at buld try for nissan navara 2004 but don't know what size steel yours or what size do it because going do it off car because need car for work
You only need something that reflects on back of vehicle to be legal, even reflective tape, can put it down on the towbar if you want, not sure how big the minimal legal is but mine were 2 little circles probably 1 inch in diameter
Hi mate that is about right as mentioned below! The steel so far has been $550 and lights, discs, welding gas, wire, mud Guards, paint it adds up pretty quickly!
@@RoamLyfe it's all personal preference dude and if you like it that's all that matters, but I just think with the GQ seeing as the thing is a box that old school square lights just look best/tough and compliment the overall shape of the vehicle. It's probably just me though as I keep seeing the round style pop up on people's canopies but I just don't get why.
Sorry mate, youtube picks them, you can download add blocker! But the revenue is helping me make the ‘free’ videos. I put a lot of time and effort into doing so with only little reward! Thanks
Coal is one good looking bloke, unbelievably keen for the end result!
Haha cheers Jacob!!
Love your work mate. It's watching guys like you that gives me the courage to attempt stuff on my own car 👍
That’s the whole idea of the channel, for people to have a crack! It may not be perfect but it’s yours! 🤗
I found this build yesterday, and I'm hooked. Love your work, bud. The videos are just getting better and better.
Looks like a monster , can’t wait to see the finish product
Thanks mate!! Keen as
cant wait to see this one all done up, keep up the hard work man!!!
I reckon the boxyness of it looks way better than tube. Love the V bracing and the lights too. mint job! 👍
Looks sick in the head board sorter suits the taper of the rear of the tray. Coming along unreal can’t wait to see it done
Yeah I agree I think it suits it a lot more!! Cheers mate
Ngl I enjoy this series because of you showing the fabrication side of it
Nice work mate!
Keeps getting better bro
love the rig and the videos keep it up man
Thanks legend!
yeah wicked, keen for this.
Yeww!
Looking good mate good on ya, if i ever had spare time id shoot up and give you a hand :D love doing projects like that
Coming along awesome, I happen to have some 52mm pipe left over from a project if you end up changing your mind on the headboard🤙🏻

Thanks Eddie!!
Looks great 👍
Thanks dude!!

should have had that seam facing inwards on that rear, save a bit of work later trying to hide it
Great video mate any chance you could show us your cutting list and sizes thinking of making one myself

I was gonna use alloy box screwed to the steel to hold the guard on as it’s non corrosive!
Grinding dust is called swarft

Haha that’s right!! Thanks for the comment mate! Very much appreciated!
Are you going to black the frame but colour code the sheet to the Ute grey.. would look 👌🏻
Looking great, will this be getting a canopy or tray sides.
Maybe one day in the future’ main goal
Is to get him on the road for now! Cheers mate
Where did you bought the lights?
Mint
Round tube would look better in the headboard, but completely get why you went box. How long have you had coal for? Another nice ep! 👌
Thanks mate!! yeah may aswell use the stuff I have! And about 4-5 months now! Cheers
Should add dimple die gussets in the corners
Are you gonna mount the tow bar higher towards the tray?
Looks awesome mate!! Are they a combination light or just one solid red and one solid orange?
Thanks mate!! One so let red and one orange! I’ve orderd light bars for the reverse!
@@RoamLyfe yeah that's mint! You'll probably need a little red reflector on each corner to keep the defects away too 👌
I mate looking at buld try for nissan navara 2004 but don't know what size steel yours or what size do it because going do it off car because need car for work
Is there a video of these lights in action? Brake, reverse, indicator. Looking at a similar set up
In the wiring episode there is!
Any particular reason you use Milwaukee and Makita?
what kind of steel material used sir?
I’m still wondering what’s gonna happen to this car
Tray looks good
Also have a safe Xmas
Thank you! Hope you have a safe one to mate! As for the car! Send it??
@@RoamLyfe sent it to whom lol

Where are the lights from have you got a link
tack it together trial fit it then fully weld
Yeah the things you learn after 😂😂
When its done, do you have to get it approved in some way?
no
Nah mate, not for a tray!
what are the good lights
Hi mate just wondering why you didn't go for a home made aluminium tray?
Always wanted to build a tray! Also more content to show you guys! And also to help people out with their future plans and builds! Cheers mate
I had those same lights and got pulled over because they don't contain a reflector, so just stuck some on beside them.
Thanks for the tip!! Fingers crossed I don’t how big are the reflectors!

What size hole saw did you use?
I honestly can’t remember I think 113mm
were is the stainless snorkel roam
In house fab!
How much have all the steel materials costed so far? Cheers.
A tray similar to that size with raptor and lights will cost you about 2-2.5k in materials
Hi mate that is about right as mentioned below! The steel so far has been $550 and lights, discs, welding gas, wire, mud Guards, paint it adds up pretty quickly!
Cheers mate, trying to start the process of building my own tray for my gu patrol ute.
Where’d you get the round tail lights from
eBay mate, just search round black trailer lights!
Yes so happy found this comment being trying to fined them lights for ages
@@beaublack6361 I have been looking for ages as well
Is it going to be a wood tray?
I’m just going with a flat alloy!
@@RoamLyfe should look good when its finished already looks mint.
What do you do for work
I fix pressure cleaners and other cleaning equipment like big vac trucks and stuff!
That isn't just a tray! It's a structural member!!
Haha thanks mate!!
Broooooo your selling ur nav y tho ?? 😢😢
Need bigger tyers
Noooooo you should have gone square lights. Round lights with the gq shape look wack
You think? I thought the round would break it up a bit! And it’s so hard to find smoked lights to suit the colour way!

I personally prefer the round ones but I think that’s just cause all the sick cars have them
To many ad's see ya

You say "He's a man".... But I think she's just a beast of a woman.
Bahahahaha, that’s gold!! She’s a beast 👌👌
lights are too big
