Your raw honesty is great. Not one of the guys who show off how they did the setup, but actually said that you’re doing it as you go. I like how you’re just being a real person.
Great to see how another Ranger with canopy has been set up. I agree it completely changes the rig and how you camp, no wonder you're so stoked. The difference between the tub to the canopy is amazing, definitely worth the money. My tip for storage is to consider using boxes and/or bags (I use Grab me Gear bags) so you still have the flexibility to easily move gear away from the rig, to a campfire or table. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Great video, good to see prices. We use a kmart induction cooker, with a lithium battery. Works well. Our induction kmart cooker has a power setting, we use that @ 1000 watts as at this stage we only have 100 amp battery. Once sufficient heat is achieved we reduce the watts. When heat setting is used the induction cooker swithes off & on regularly, overloading our battery & inverter. When our 300 watt solar panel is charging. We can go up to 1200 watts but we find 1000 watt setting is fairly quick. Cheers Michael
Nice one Az you will love it mate. I have a Mits Alloy tray and canopy and it’s the best for camping and ease of use. Looking forward to seeing you use it during your videos. Get some Drifta clear top canvas bags to help you organise your stuff.
Nice looking rig. I hope you see this comment cause this is important. You need to put some kind of cover on your positive battery terminal. Would hate for something metal to short your battery and cause a fire. 🙂
23k given away for just 5 thousand subs. Holy hell your livin the dream. Subscribed!! im interested in how you go. Ive ditched my tub for a tray and canopy in 2 weeks time. Cant wait. The chairs, go get the front runner chairs, they pack away to nothing and are light asf best on the market i reckon. On your empty side you can look at getting some front runner boxes. Tough as nails and you can strap them down, keeping ur storage solution nice and light.
Mate! That is a dope setup!! I went for a canopy on my tub as we keep it pretty minimal when camping. Fuck the haters, if your setup saves time in preparation and setup, you’ve got more time for filming!
Very nice in deed. In all my set ups being 2 wheels or 4 wheels and remote travel I like to have built in redundancy where possible. If your single 200ah battery dies then you have no fridge, cookers, lights, aircompressor and so on. Same if it is raining and no sun for a couple of days. Personally I would have 2 100ah batteries & gas cooker.
$23,000 seems like a lot of money (plus $9K for the electrics) .... FFS it is a lot of money! Are MITS Alloy looking to sponsor some else 'cause I'm available. Just need a ute and a UA-cam channel.
Pretty much a dream set up for me, so cool to see and something to aim towards so I can travel further into the Aussie bush to capture the images I am after.
Love your rig. Been wondering the same thing. Got a similar set-up. I've got my draws with wings and a water tank at back. You must have 35s. I've got a drop down slide and it takes up nearly the whole canopy. I'd love a jack off canopy but dunno were I'd put my dog. Kids are 9 and 12 and nearly taller than me so I think the next car is gunna be a wagon. Patrol or cruiser. Canopy comes for free.
Well done looks great I’ve got a Ranger and set up pretty well but I set mine up in 2015, you have a lot of new technology on yours but it looks very functional top job cheers mate 👍🍻🇦🇺
Hey there, can you share in details more of the clips or mounting slides of the travel buddy, show us the whole canopy and what options of mounts pls. Tia.
Set up looks great bud. Enjoy!👌🏽 I have a new Amarok with a chassis mounted canopy fully decked out with upright fridge, power, roof mounted solar, drawers etc (coming in a little cheaper than yours) from Trig Point Canopies - They are also incredible to work with & their quality & service is on point. I love it, well worth the spend. 👍🏽
Nice rig, how bout you plumb in a water filter to your water tank, keeping your water clean, turn your slide out rear tray into a table top, prep area,
Looks awesome, I am looking at getting one of these so am interested in seeing it develop. What did you do with the old tub? Have you got any plans for the old tub?
I’ve only had it 4 weeks and it’s so bloody practical hey!! Might have to come for a camp and I’ll convince you to sell the 76 and get a ranger... or the new dmax when it comes out 😉😉
I wouldn't George, I love watching videos on blokes with great set-up like this. Only to find out they got given the majority of there set-up for free, and there's no way there's more then $5-6k in raw material costing
When you think about it you can get a xls ranger for say $43k then spend even something like $30k in mods your going to have a very capable car. You might have spent $73k but stock dual cab cruiser starts around that price to purchase, then add mods on top of that.
Looks nice, I hope you get your full money’s worth out of it mate because $ 23,000 + over $ 9,000 for electrics - frig me ! Hope you really do get the most out of it bud. Does look good though. 😉👍 another good video.
G'day Mate - Great information, What is the height of your canopy and overall height of the vehicle now at its highest point as am looking for a solution that does not effect me parking in city car parks during the week.
Great stuff you got in there. I've got a fair bit of stuff in my Hidrive canopy and it weighs 500kgs less than your stuff. I prefer my Redarc electrical stuff to your Enerdrive stuff, but we've all got our opinions on stuff. Good stuff!
Goin through the same decision process now after 20 years of Lux and Ranger canopy ARB set ups. Can you still have spare tyre underneath when you put these trays on?
Yes, just watched this video. Awesome,. Do agree with Russell, contact Justin, " Trip in a van" Justin and Bec have been doing this sort of stuff, and very similar set up, for 4.5yrs now. Loads of knowledge and experience...🙂
From your previous video it looks your lithium set up is similar to the adventurer pack that enerdrive sell. Is there any differences other than the cover that kits made? If it's the same, how does the 200ah battery cope with induction cooking? How long do you think you can camp at one spot until you need to drive to charge your batteries up Keen to see this set up in use in future videos
Crikey $32,000 before you even kit it out with a fridge etc, it looks functional but that's a lot of dosh.......... Has to be a rather Niche market! And you still have to sleep in a tent or a swag?
I totally agree with you mate, it’s a big chunk of change but for a Aussie manufactured product with a lifetime warranty I think it’s a fair price (very easy for me to say considering the situation, I know) also the after sales service you receive, I highly doubt you would get that with a imported product. It’s definitely not a niche market as well, I’ve spent a lot of time around different people and companies and some of the builds coming out of multiple companies are upwards of $180k plus which seems to be pretty normal and the $32k on my setup seems very affordable in the big scheme, I personally know multiple people that have similar setups to mine and have dropped the cash without batting a eyelid, and after that they spending anywhere from $2k-$5k on a roof top tent
Wow i was hooked until u dropped the cost! Thats waaayyyy pricey. Looks awsome etc but wow. My rangers 1900x1800 alloy cannopy on steel tray was 5k all up and is lighter and has more room. Get this is strong, awsome etc but ive 18k left in my pocket for mods. Love the look of ya ranger though. What size muddys ya runnin?
I have the same problem with this over engineered canopies. Very heavy, need must stronger Shockup (extra cost and weight) etc. Other thing I don't understand is why you all the a/c equipment warranting a 2000 VA inverter (extra cost and battey weight etc.) stay home if you want to use all the gadgets . I have 300 VA for 10 years never needed any more than that. One other thing I noticed each of these are single use item, old fashion camping is multiple use to save on weight.
No doubt their stuff is awesome but I feel like for every day adventurers this is just overkill and priced out of reach. Wouldn't hurt Mits to look at a premium line and a more affordable line as well that's not so over-engineered and expensive.
Yeah but I’d rather have his car than yours. 200amp lithium setups like that are what people are running in caravans. It’s soo stupidly powerful for just a Fourbie, I love it. I’m considering the same, or similar but only 100amp battery. Though on a potential caravan it’s three or four of the 200amp batteries at a minimum for me.
Your raw honesty is great. Not one of the guys who show off how they did the setup, but actually said that you’re doing it as you go. I like how you’re just being a real person.

Good on you mate well deserved. Mitsy do a fantastic work has definitely changed the look of the Ranger . Congrats again
Thanks tony!!! It’s a massive difference to the look hey👌👌 this is how a ranger should look I reckon

Sweet setup mate, glad to see your money goes to something you love
Great vid mate
I’d be using the draw next to the fridge as my pantry.
Sweet video dude, just sent this to my brother to look at same set up for his new ranger 😎👍🏼
Ty Fenwick 🤘🤘🤘 I reckon it’s gotta be the best setup for a ranger hey
Congratulations. That's a fantastic setup. I'll investigate MITS Alloy for my next build.
Thanks mate I’m frothing!!! They’re pumping out some high quality gear!! Should definitely look at them when your ready
Great video... looks like a perfect way to overland. Beautiful design and awesome build quality. Love your enthusiasm for it all too.

Love the tray and canopy. The shorter canopy looks great.
Well done looks great I’ve got a Ranger and set up pretty well but I set mine up in 2015, you have a lot of new technology on yours but it looks very functional top job cheers mate 👍🍻🇦🇺
Great video mate. Honest and down to earth. Well done. Looking forward to your future videos.

Mad setup mate not cheap setup but definitely worth it if you got the money that’s for sure
Nice rig, how bout you plumb in a water filter to your water tank, keeping your water clean, turn your slide out rear tray into a table top, prep area,
They do look the part, like all the unistrut gear through them makes it easy to change it up and low cost
Yep having the unistrut is definitely the way forward with this type of setup! The crew at mits have nailed it
Good stuff mate, love this set up. Cheers Steve
Thanks Steve! Thanks for your support mate means a lot!!
Nice rig sir. We'll be watching.
Cheers David 🤙🤙
Great setup. Where did you get the watertank from? It's just what I am looking for.
Good work mate. Well explained. Like your style. Great setup.
Hey mate, love your set up! Where did you get your poly water tank from?
Thanks mate!!! Mits alloy get them specially made to suit the headboards, unfortunately we don’t sell them separately
15:34 scratching ya nuts 🤣🤣🤣

Nice work mate. I saw you’re vehicle sitting there a few weeks ago. You’re sparkle dans a mate of mine here in newy
Thank you
$23k 😂😂😂 Faaaark me 🤦♂️ plus the 12volt system !
Killer money pit
Nice video Az! Keen to see some more content coming now. The tray and canopy looks unreal, once I win the lotto I’ll get one to match 😂
Looks great mate, I would love that 12v setup in the camper 👍
Looks awesome Az
Thanks Paul!!! It’s a piece of art hey
Totally agree with spending money once. Mine is the same. I built mine mostly myself but used top quality gear.
The back looks awesome and I dig that ladder. It's gonna cost you just as much again to fill that thing up. But fuck, its gonna be fun.
Looks awesome mate and will be totally practical, as far as setting it up, just leave it with me for 12 months 😂😂😜.
I’ve only had it 4 weeks and it’s so bloody practical hey!! Might have to come for a camp and I’ll convince you to sell the 76 and get a ranger... or the new dmax when it comes out 😉😉
Azventures Australia i only need a single cab now as well.😜🤙
23k huh, I’d HAPPILY buy that! I got quoted the same thing from Mits for 32k
Loving this channel mate. You’re going to go far
Just found ya channel mate top vids love the set up wish i had the money for it all ha ha ha might just have to stick with the tray for now
Perfect, i love your Canopy. Unfortunately there is no such thing in Germany. But my Setup for my Ranger is nice too. 😁 LG, Alfred
Did you need a GVM upgrade to carry that weight?
Yes
Beautiful truck fella,, love to own it...well done.
If I win lotto I’m getting this setup on my ranger but I’m going to stick to the basic tub for the moment
Hey mate what water tank is that on the head board?
I would get some tray sliders bro well worth it cost u fuck all an protect ya canopy
Great set up, looks great, congratulations, love to hear how many would feel comfortable spending 23k plus 9.5k on this set up ???
I wouldn't George, I love watching videos on blokes with great set-up like this.

great vid, just found your channel. interested to see how your canopy is bolted to the tray. I have tray & looking for a lift off canopy.

Did you re gear with those tyres? Or standard ratios
Goin through the same decision process now after 20 years of Lux and Ranger canopy ARB set ups. Can you still have spare tyre underneath when you put these trays on?
You can. The wheel holder on the back is for a second spare wheel

Yes, just watched this video. Awesome,. Do agree with Russell, contact Justin, " Trip in a van" Justin and Bec have been doing this sort of stuff, and very similar set up, for 4.5yrs now. Loads of knowledge and experience...🙂

With more solar panels it’ll be damn near indefinite. Limited by fuel/food at this stage with that power
The echo of that tinnie cracking open....rippa
Awesome setup
What is the total cost of the whole thing? Maybe I just miss understood when you said it. Thanks a lot!
Who manufactures those slim water tanks? Need one on my set-up!
A PJ I’m not sure who makes them mate but if you called up mits they’d probably have some on the shelf you might be able to buy
Crikey $32,000 before you even kit it out with a fridge etc, it looks functional but that's a lot of dosh.......... Has to be a rather Niche market! And you still have to sleep in a tent or a swag?
Definitely not mainstream for the majority of 4x4 enthusiasts

Got a very similar set up but shorter box
My new Ranger was $38500 but love setup mate well done.
You should spend another $35k on a canopy and tray 🤔
Where can I get a electric stove top/cooker cheers 🍻
where did you buy that green handled recovery shovel from ?
I just got that from Bunnings mate I think it was like $12 or something like that
I don't see the appeal of using 80-180 amps of power per hour to cook with induction when gas uses nothing
Should stay home. Outdoor is cooking on fire and camping stove
gwynn white does a great 4x4 setup
My setup weighs 3000kg fully loaded with 100 ltres of water. and the missus
Awsome set up. To mucth money for me
yeeewl
absolute mint setup
but dam i cant afford that.. and ive got no kids yet hahah
What size tyres mate nice setup
Thanks mate! I’m running 315/75/16r tyres mate
Azventures Australia 35 inch tyres nice
Azventures Australia what have you done to fit them
$10K for electrical system, I wouldn’t even pay that for the full canopy.
Those sorts of prices aren’t even at the top end of the scale for some of the 12v setups that are going around these days
