Bomb and pellet fishing is great way to approach a new venue in winter. I visit a new venue for me, Phoebe’s farm. A small lake that's home to plenty of carp, the perfect place to visit in winter for a few bites.

Hi Rob, now it interesting that the short hooklength produced for you. I made the switch to short hooklengths about 15 years ago after some lessons learnt canal carping. These have been confirmed by Rob Hughes's underwater films for Matrix and others showing what really happens underwater and as a result i only use long hooklengths on flowing water or for pop up presentations or sometimes for a balanced bait over heavy weed. Joe told me you have had some good chub sessions recently so i hope you will publish a video or two on that and health permitting i would love for you both to join me on some small stream fishing before the close of the season.
