I was sad hearing it even 5 minutes after watching the film. It felt like saying goodbye to a group of friends, knowing I'll probably never see them again.

The light novels made a return last year, and right now the series is having a collaboration event with (of all things) PUBG. Also, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is returning to theatres on December 18. Oh, and music from the anime made a surprise “special stage” appearance at the Kyoto Animation Music Festival recently. So while a new season isn’t exactly guaranteed, it’s safe to say that the series is far from dead.
