Gorgeous! I need to try this. I'm wondering if taking a smaller mold and supporting it in a slightly larger container would work to help create shapes that aren't perfectly round. Once you have it in a larger container, you could use crumpled paper or foil in between the two to create a different shape. I may have to try it both ways. They really are stunning!
That's a great idea! I was trying to figure that out myself, but no luck on this end!

I LOVE this! How long does it take for the glue to dry before removing from the mold?
I'd give it a good 20 minutes so it's not soft anymore. Hot glue dries pretty quickly.
I think I'd skip the sand. That seems like it would be really messy, even when the geode is displayed. One question. Does the crush glass have sharp edges, or are they somehow polished to be smooth?
The sand is a little messy, but it sticks nicely to the hot glue and gets embedded. As for the crushed glass, it's decorative fish tank glass & vase filler which is tumbled a little bit to remove the sharp edges.
I love making jewelry out of geods!
These are super fun and with the right glitter, they look real! Just need to figure out how to make them less perfectly round...That's next!
I love the technique and the gorgeous glass but I would like it so much more if it wasn't so perfectly round. I would have to make a more organic shaped silicone mould
When you figure that out, let me know how to do it!
@@MarkMontanoMakeYourMark I would try to make a diy mould with silicone caulk and corn starch. I would use wadded up aluminum foil in an irregular shape to press into the caulk to make an organic shape
