You may be asking yourself "If all of these Items work perfectly in the other styles, why didn't Nintendo just let you use them without this glitch?". And to that question I actually have no answer at all. Most of these Items could work if Nintendo just made a texture for them so they aren't invisible. For example the dotted-line blocks, they work perfectly, and if nintendo put a bit of effort into giving them a texture they could've easily been added to the game. So lets just hope Nintendo will add some of these in an update in the future :)

How did you get the sun in the 3d world style? I tried everything, but have only gotten tracks in 3d world.
@@choppern3crozma673 You just do the same with the sun. Corrupt the level, then place down the angry sun. Save, then after saving Load the same level slot. Once you get 3D World the sun should be in your tool bar so you can just place it down.

Apparently, night themed levels can bypass the "corrupt" filter?
Imagine the surprise when someone plays a 3D world jungle level and dies the second they touch the water.

Have a clear pipe in SMB3 that leads straight into a hole that the player would easily avoid normally, but it's invisible so Mario/Weeg/Toad/Toadette just gets *SCHLOOP* ed into a hole.
ThatMadEngineer _ clear pipes cant be saved in other themes (Corrupt data)

This just pisses me off because it proves that these things were planned to be implemented but weren't because of either laziness or deadlines
Exactly why I stopped making levels it gave you limitation that makes no sense to me.

If you were to look on the bright side, though, at least, as is the famous quote, "limitation breeds creativity", meaning that level creators can often make clever workarounds to said limitations, which, in my opinion, adds to the fun.
But they should still actually give us the course elements in every style. Perhaps the relatively short time we had to wait for it to release wasn't quite as much of a good thing as we initially thought.

Which, unfortunately, seems to have backfired for them, since people would ideally like to have all elements across all styles. I think that being confirmed in the Direct, in combination with the news that online with friends would not be available at launch, really put a lot of people off.

The most interesting thing about 3d world night themes is that the music is building theme of that style
It's actually no music at all, but the edit mode has no music to transit to so that happens
Which are better than the original tracks... Why can't we use them normally?

Uploading a warp box level in 2D worlds is perfectly acceptable.
Vines only crash the game if it's 'naked'. You can put it in a ? block and it works fine.
It's probably due to them to having missing animations or missing code, i don't know.

When you open a new level after the glitch corrupted, if the loading screen takes 9 seconds, it is 3DW guaranteed

I think that it's still in development, but an update is coming with all the game styles linking with each other, and this was what they had so far from the last update. Just a theory.

How has this not aged well in 6 months? Also, it's not that Nintendo was working on this stuff, it's that the SMM2 engine is real robust.
I agree. I had a lot more ideas in mm1 and i loved how you can sort items on your own. Now, I can't mix & match so my brain just goes blank when trying to find ideas
@@Gamemaster64 You probably had more ideas because limitations create more creativity.
You can glitch the spiney by putting it on, pressing on it and press the X, and then do the glitch. Once in 3D world, you press undo and you have the spiney on your head.

4:10 I think the game tries to simultaneously load the animation of going out of a pipe with Yoshi and the animation of getting out of a clear pipe
I don't think the clear pipes have their own texture in the forest theme, I bet it's just an overlay that's displayed on top of all pipes in that theme.
Reminder that Nintendo wanted the 3D World theme to be unique and that's why these aren't normally available in that style

I just realized, this reminds me of how much I wish we could use that stone block from story mode. Such a fun item it was, I had loads of ideas when messing with it! I wonder if we'll ever get to glitch/hack that into the editor! It'd make my day!

The fact that the world track plays along with the music like other items and the fact that it works perfectly makes me think that this was planned to be in 3D world. Same with clear pipes in other game styles I gernerally think that this game style was planned to not be an extra one and be with the other 4

you know seeing that there even is any form of texture for clear pipes makes me curious. were they going to implement 3d items globally or was it a beta item leftover to get the items of 3d world working first then import the 3d models? so many questions unanswered. I hope in a later update though night themes are added to 3d world. the only issue I see is trying to code it to where the lighting and... skybox? if there even is one, change that aswell to nighttime as it was never intended to ever get a night theme... I still hope they give us more info on these glitches though, because I would love to see the behind-scenes of the development of this game

I've looked over the doc. Question, what happens if you move theme specific 2d items to other 2d themes? Like power ups? Can cape be brought to Smb3? Or super ball to smw? Things like that.
Just turns into the other power up. For example Capes will automatically turn into Propellers when switching to NSMBU.

The more of this I watched, the more I realized in the time since it's release they probably could've squashed all these bugs and made 3d world into a regular theme. (Which I think everyone would prefer, given that the more features that interact, the more possibilities for cool levels exist in Mario Maker.
