Actually when they returned to the hotel edge said " what a drab evening so predictable so boring " 😉🤣🤣 No they did indeed have a great time everyone there were already huge U2 fans ❤
I was there. I am on screen. I have my own video on my phone and yet I come here and watch this one with regularity. One of the greatest nights of my U2 "career". It was an amazing experience.
To anyone who has seen U2 live in even a stadium, it's unreal just how Bono overpowers the rest of the band, so it's great to see Edge and Adam be the stars of the show here.
UF2 bassist Craig Kiell one of my best friends for a lifetime... so I'm a bit biased... but watching this, never more proud of him... an indelible stamp of approval on their efforts over all the years that went into making this incredible moment happen.
WOW...you cannot denied such an moment. These guys are great .. to come down to that party ..and join these true fans...with such a surprise!!. It tells you ...how down to earth they are. Amazing U2!!!
So so so cool on every level! The Drummer is absolute class on the way he queues on Edge on the Streets intro! Its a super-tricky time-sig change (which Edge wrote, ofc!). Gives me goosebumps watching this!
Sooooooo happy to see this from a different view, love love loved this since I first saw it…. Imagine being in the crowd and Edge and Adam walk out….. Lucky lucky bastard
Somehow, I was there in person. When they came out, everyone lost consciousness for a few moments. And then it was a big big party. The floor was shaking.
Spiritual Meditation Music don’t get me wrong. He seems like a great guy. But UF would be the best u2 cover band in the entire world if their drummer actually played Larry’s parts right...worst thing about it is Larry’s party’s are so easy...I learned them all 15 years ago when I was like 13
Dude, that drummer is killing it indeed. Not overplaying it all. He’s good enough to put his own personality as tribute without taking away from the spirit of song.
To understand how these things don't just happen, just know about the behind the scenes stuff check out the following... Best part of this video is at 5:18 when Dallas reminds the band's guitarist, who is taking photos, to change the pedal for Edge. (Who would not know what pedal to hit, due to it not being his rig.) Behind the scenes magic, and is another reason that Dallas lives in legend. And at 9:35 Adam is haded the wrong bass, tuned to the wrong key.... and yet.. they get him the correct bass, and both he and the Edge realize that this is fun, and non a stressful gig, and they laugh and have a great time... Then they decide to do another song, then at 11:33 you see another tricky guitar sound change.. Dallas is on it.. watch the next twenty seconds of the solo, and look at the team effort it is to let "The Edge" be "The Edge"... they decide to go for 8 bars more, and Dallas holds his hands up.. then they go for 8 more bars... and Dallas says wait, then the guitar solo begins, and the extra distortion and delay are added, then when the solo is over, he tells the guy to turn it off.... experience and talent.. it is a team effort, and amazing... What an amazing video to celebrate the joy of music!
Fuck the critics, fuck the nay-sayer, fuck the ignorant, this is a band that will live in infamy in the hearts of their fans. What a great band and what great, real, genuine people. I love them!
I realize this is an ironic statement because I'm watching this thanks to someone recording it from the audience BUT there's something so depressing about the number of cell phones up in the air. I'm glad that didn't exist during my concert-going heyday. You kids GET OFF MY LAWN!
its funny you say that because i still remember the 93 U2 concert in Sydney like it was yesterday. But i am SOOOO glad it was recorded live and now on UA-cam where i can com relive it all the time!!!
@@trr9230 it really was. I remember it was a Sat night. and the big news was that Adam Clayton didn't play the show the night before. But when the silhouette of Bono appeared, I have never heard screaming quite like that before. Actually till I saw Prince live ;)
Come on, you can't deny that crowd their photos and videos of a once in a lifetime event. I hate the cameras and phones held up at shows as much as anyone but this was historic
@@lonlevinholler74 But people don't just take a photo, they record video for entire songs, entire concerts, rather than just experiencing it. They lose the experience for a crappy video they will most likely never watch. I think it's sad and lame.
This is one of the best reminders of why we all love this great band. Congrats to @U2, Unforgettable Fire and all those who were there! They didn't do this at the 10th Anniversary Party for @U2, I was at that one. :)
The guy next to the camera saying “oh my god” over and over was so amazing. What an amazing surprise. Also, I assume famous band members love to just play the music and not have anybody expecting them to be there. Then that makes it more likely that real fans are going to be there
They are to the last 30 yrs. or so, the extent of the Beatles, led zep and the stones. I’m not too much of a Beatles fan, but that is a great comparison , I would add AC/DC to the list
I couldn’t hold my tears of emotion looking at this and I didn’t even noticed till the end of the video, this was simply amazing! Lucky the ones who were there to live the experience🙏💥🤩
What a great life.. Everywhere you go people are happy to see you. Everywhere you go a party instantly breaks out. Best of all you are a multi millionaire and don't have to really answer to anyone.
Great stuff. Just looking at the crowd, it's the age of the camera phone, everyone obsessed with catching every special moment on video, its stops them from fully immersing themselves in the moment. Just forget the phone, and be fully present and enjoy it.
Best part is where Mick goes over to turn up the amp volume on Out of Control solo. You can see Dallas signaling him on when to turn it up and down, LOL. Not like Mick doesn't already know. ;-)
Brought on the tears a little how nice of them turning up by surprise good on them . Two great songs out of control being the first U2 song I herd before knowing anything about these guys back then . Then they toured Australia in 84 and seen them play at the Sydney entertainment centre they were awesome !
Yes, if u watch Bono’s walk from the crowd back to the stage in streets, from the Joshua tree tour 40 th Ann. Tour, it is a dead ringer, and never thought anybody else would notice
pure gold, there are not too many musicians like this, still feeling the base .... and also sort of able living their lives. I imagine meeting the edge and clayten in a pub around the corner, would be just a nice humans talk, without all that "elevating fan shit"
Really great treat :) Adam is so cool and Edge so funny - Out of Control was so fast for him :D Actually this is probably the last time they played it this fast. But it's the right speed :)
To be the ‘Bono’ in a U2 cover band, no doubt one of his favorite historical U2 moments has to be the Red Rocks show… right?! and then to be able to shout “This is the Edge!”…. Mad props to the drummer who held it together and played phenomenally with those two legends.
He actually controlled the tempo. Edge and Adam Clayton followed with the rhythm. Gotta give props to them for adjusting with the drummer.
Pretty damn humble of them to show up and play with a tribute band I have to say.
Edge sings his backup vocals too. Lol. This is one of the best videos on all of UA-cam.
This is how a band of their stature touched their fans like none other. These times are memories in the making!!
Don't kid yourself - Edge and Adam had just as much fun doing this as everyone there did watching them play - what a special moment...
And that is why they call it Priceless, what a special moment that was for everyone!! 🇺🇲🇮🇪
Actually when they returned to the hotel edge said " what a drab evening so predictable so boring " 😉🤣🤣 No they did indeed have a great time everyone there were already huge U2 fans ❤
The club intimacy works both ways 😊 they get that energy from their real hardcore fans.
Are we 'kidding ourselves '
I bet Edge and Adam enjoyed playing that tiny club more than those people enjoyed watching it.
They were rock solid tight too.
Adam was having SO MUCH FUN playing that bass on Out of Control like he was a teen again...PRICELESS !

So many of the greats started in small clubs, so it’s right that they should return to them on occasion. :)

Aww, that was lovely on so many levels. As an Irish person, I can confirm that singer's Bono impression was spot on!

How incredibly gracious of Edge and Adam to play along with these guys. That made their day and the audience's.

It’s so funny people probably thought Dallas Schoo was the surprise. They still went nuts for him. Then the real surprise. Pretty epic!
Congratulations to all involved. You're all a piece of U2 history now.
