Heaven Hill bib has to be on the list. I actually bought a bottle in Va last week from the regular shelf. I was told by a store manager it’s no longer allocated in Va. Who knows 🤷.

John J Bowman single barrel is $57 in Virginia and is also allocated now. I know because I picked up 2 bottles just a few weeks ago just before it became allocated.
In my opinion, on a given night, Rare Breed can compete with any bourbon out there. However, palates can change night to night and some nights it may not compete well at all.
Nice video! I love Wild Turkey RB! However, for that price I still enjoy Knob Creek Single Barrel 9 more, so I go for that. Or, I rather add $10 more and go for the much more enjoyable Russel’s Reserve Single Barrel!

I can get 1910 at Costco for mid $40s. JJ Bowman is $70 in my neighborhood even before Washington's grab-your-ankles-tax. All the other competitors aren't available in my corner of the world. Rare Breed is my baseline bourbon - everything I drink gets compared to her.

It was two years ago. But sadly they didn’t put a bottle limit on it and people would clear out the stores, then flip it on the secondary market. That’s why we can’t have nice things.
Do you mean the single barrel or the small batch select? I’ve had the Four Roses Small Batch (cheaper one) and it didn’t even come close to Russel’s 10 which is a Wild Turkey. I like the 101, so I’m sure the Rare Breed would kill it for me.

Shoulda threw makers cask strength in there it holds up well to the wt rb. Proof flavor notes and age. The balance is spot on just like the turkey

Yeah unfortunately true. It's a great bottle for sure but of the Bowman stuff it's the third hardest to find. Impossible to find some places.

In my part of CA, *if* you can find Rare Breed it is $65. Good news is the local Costco has Old Forester 1920 for $48.99.

Everyone talks about John J., but i never see it. Tried Bowman Brothers, it is not very good to me.
The new label Wild Turkey is different from the old label. Not bad though. I have the first and second place bottles, good to go!

I’d choose rare breed any day over bardstown. Didn’t care much for it. It was recommended but fell short of expectation
