Fantastic! This video will give you the right direction for a common pressure tank setup. I have not installed two tanks on the same system. Good to know that is an option. Thanks!
You are amazing thank you for your detailed videos. I’ve learned so much from you. I watch just about all that you make. Thank you for taking the time to teach others much needed skills. You’ve helped provided knowledge which has provided food on the table for my children. Thank you.
Josh could you elaborate on this, 1. How is pressure tank size determined? 2. You also forgot to mention the pre filling with air and how much air goes in the pressure tank? You could drop this knowledge when the next video for this project comes up. Awesome job of explaining this entire well and setup. I mean EXCELLENT
I’ve always installed a check valve before the tank. To keep the water from the pressure tank from flowing back down the well it’s a vital component to keep the pump from over working and to keep the pump from causing water hammer effect, you may have installed one closer to the well head I’m not sure but I noticed it wasn’t installed at the pressure tank it’s code here to have it just before the pressure switch. Thanks for another great video.
@@BaronKen in my area we install the tank at the well within a well house and we install a hose bib there but if you do have a frost free at the well and the tank under the house you can put the check valve after the pit less adapter and then the frost free.
Another informative and easily understandable video. Why are you installing the tank before the floor is poured? Always nice to see double hose clamps. Since the white is hot to the pump, aren't you supposed to wrap it in black tape?
Thank you! I’m glad you found the video informative. Installing the tank before the floor was the home owners wish due to if a leak was to occur, it would be below finished floor in hopes it would not flood the house. As for the double hose clamps, I like to add that extra security-better safe than sorry! You're absolutely right about the white wire! Wrapping it in black tape helps indicate it's a hot wire, and I'll make sure to address that in the panel box video. Thanks for pointing it out!
You are 100% correct the 2 white hots need to be phased for identification. 3 wraps/stripes of black electrical tape, easy peasy. Good call brother, my "Spiddy sences" were a tingling as he hooked up the 1st white wire, lol.
Nice video. I was hoping to see the water come in and pressurize as you stated and maybe play with it to a 70-50 adjustment. Also, you called the tank a 20g....but I've discovered that it does not hold nearly that in water volume. Soooo, I want to go to a bigger tank so that my well pump does not come on as often... Tks
Great video, but one silly question : what about maintence, should you check your bladder pressure from time to time making sure it's at the 30 psi ? The Well guys just stick em in, collect their check and run off to the next job. But no one has ever informed me what to look out for. 😮
Good video but why didn't you explain the bladder air pressure setting and Schrader valve on the tank? I know on a new tank they are probably preset but eventually it might need an adjustment.
I’d like to know more about this. I’ve got an old well and bladder under the house but the last owner let it go when city water come through. I’d love to run my water hoses off of it and back up water.
What do you mean by the former owner let it go? Does the well pump work, the storage tank hold pressure? Is the well connected to anything, like a manifold along with the city water? What water hoses, outside bibs?
Pretty informative video, although as others have mentioned, several things were not addressed. I am really surprised that the pressure tank is sitting so low rather than sitting on a pedestal. Is there even room to get a hose on that bibb? My pressure tank is elevated about 8" above the floor. I would actually prefer that it were up another foot.
I have two large tanks and had no idea how they work. Now I do and can service or replace them! Thanks for the great video.

How would you put a frost free spigot out near the well head if you have a check valve at the pressure tank? There would be no pressure at the spigot

Does it matter what side the tap or relief valve goes?

Does this also work with a rainwater collection system?
I'm not sure but I think It will work if you have a pump to create pressure in the tank. My opinion
Amtrol is located 5 min from my house in Rhode Island…👍
@@JohnR9965 oh wow, that’s so cool! That is really far from my house. Thanks for watching!
should also add rain water systems along w well systems
Is the pressure relief valve a code requirement?
Depends on size and pressure of the tank, but yes.
