Mr Flynn stole and deposited a cheque for £50,000 (a’donation’ to the Fianna Fail (Flynn’s) Party) in the 1980’. This is worth 100’s of thousands into today’s figures. Mr Gilmartin while knowing this ‘donation’ was questionable gave it anyway. When Gilmartin asked who to make the cheque out to Mr Flynn told him to make it out to cash. Mr Gilmartin saved a copy of the cheque, provided copy to the tribunal. Money was tracked to three separate retirement type accounts. One was in the name to his daughter Beverley who was an adult when opened. This interview ultimately destroyed the political careers of both Flynn’s. By the way the Irish government Fianna Fáil completely destroyed Tom Gilmartin financially because he stopped paying them off.
