Yeah I was gonna say the overheads sounded really slick, like a smooth but grainy top end and a tiny bit fuzzy. You should split the signal of the overs and maybe rooms, and do a comparison so we can rule out what the mic is contributing and what the mixers preamps are

The graininess is most likely the AT Pro 37r mics I use on overheads. The M-34 is fairly smooth sounding. Unfortunately I cannot do another comparison soon as I have loaned the console out temporarily while I am moving.

A really cool focused, dry drum sound. I like it!

I love how you played and most of all those sounds you got! I have the tascam model 3 board from 1975 or 76 I think? Into the Fostex A8 with some Klark teknik compressors. I love your channel for nerding out

Thank you! The M-30 is a cool console and can be super vibey. I get my audio nerd on a lot coming up with ideas for videos with random stuff I find. Lol I try to make the videos entertaining and somewhat educational. At least people get to hear what things sound like. Thanks again!

Thank you. Those are great suggestions. I would love to try all those consoles but I don't have access to any of them. Many of those are very expensive or used models that I may not be able to find. I either buy or borrow the condoms and gear I feature as my channel has no sponsors. I will add them to the list and hope to be able to test some of these one day.

Hey man, your uploads are great! I just bought a Tascam M312 from a friend. I'm waiting till the recap is done.. Do you know if the M312 have the same preamps as the M30 have? I'll use it most of all for track drums, BTW Nice drum!💥

Thank you! I work really hard on all the videos. The M312 has different preamps than an M30 or M35. They are closer to the famous 388 circuit wise with the M30 and M35 having mic input transformers. The M312 has a lot more routing and features as well. They are great consoles and all will get a similar vibe on drums especially. I think you'll really enjoy the M312. They are good sounding reliable consoles.

I got a TASCAM 238 from a friend, looking to use my M-30 as the console for it. What did you record into a DAW or something analog?

I have used the M-35 with my Fostex R8 on the first video about it. The M-30 would be a good match for a 238 as the connections and number of channels and tape inputs all match well. Thanks for watching and have fun!
