This is awesome. Thank you. I always go with Fromsoft games as a Strength build and I wanted to switch it up for the expansion. Just want I'm looking for. Unfortunately I can only get Vyke's spear once since my first playthrough he was known to be bugged and not invade. Thankfully he did this time. Thanks again.
my first build was black flame inspired with about as much detail. im excited to do one like this. ill likely pick something else for the fashion souls aspect but your choices are great too. great video

@@Balrogx just an update. Roughly the same build. Stats are a little relative because I’m only level 110 on this character but I managed to recreate a decent version. Only exception is I don’t have the frenzy flame seal yet so my incantations won’t scale well for damage until later. I also went with the omen killer set (with red prisoner hood) for the “fashionsouls” :) looks fantastic with the weapon [which is a little underrated imo].Thanks again tho frenzy based build is a really cool idea. Especially because an entire ending is based off of it.

This is interesting, but it feels lacking in weapons and incantations. It's a pretty narrow build that seems maybe a little bit difficult to deal with. Thinking about trying it out before I end my 3rd playthrough.
i wish they were more Madness weapons or items that increase AR when you inflict madness or even increase madness buildup. and Incantations as well
My suggestion is building around fire, and using giantsflame and fire monk spells along with the frenzy. Works very well for brute damage

You are welcome. It deals damage like 15% of the targets max HP and FP loss and they are unable to cast spells. It sounds great for PVP but for PVE only a handful of enemies are not immune to madness.

Madness and Death can kill when procked. Enemies can’t die to procks in this game I think. That’s why people say they can’t build status on enemies with them.
I like your build and concept a lot, I’ve recently made my own Vyke’s War Spear build for PvP and it’s been so much fun, as madness is predominantly a PvP status. Now I’m seeing how it can transfer over to PvE so I can do some coop and new game plus, and I have some major suggestions for your build. For my talismans I’ve found the best ones to use are the Spear, Claw, Rotten Wing Sword Insignia, and Millicent’s Prosthesis. The spear and Claw talismans are going to be your heavy hitters as these boosts your counter dmg and jump attacks which are perfect for the great spear move-set. RWSI and Millicent’s will boost the dmg a lot when you spam crouch and jumping attacks, which will buff your overall AR A LOT. I’ve gotten above 960AR with these alone when maxing out the effects of the talismans, which will only further boost the dmg output of the spear and claw. I predominantly use the spears only, but I do like to use the Flame of Frenzy sometimes if my opponent is running away, since you can arc it high and make it go a far distance. These spears scale predominantly off of dex, with a lesser scaling in faith, so I actually have 62 Dex(67 with Millicent’s) and 18 Faith for my build, keep in mind it’s a level 139 build with a lot of endurance and vigor. With this I get 693AR. When I buff with FGMS, I hit 832, and then with all the tali buffs you can easily get up to 1k AR. Throw on the flame shroud tear and the thorny cracked tear and i hit an Max AR of 1716! I was spamming crouch and jump attacks on the omens to test dmg. This is without golden vow, howl of shabriri, or commander’s Standard, so I can only imagine the dmg would be close to 2k when one of those are active aswell. If your goal is to max out incantation dmg, I’d use the Flocks and Canvas talismans, along with Fire scorpion and Godfrey icon.
If I went up to RL200, I’d focus on getting dex to 80 then faith to as high as possible, most likely 60. If you focus on incants then swap dex and faith ofc. I’d also throw in howl of shabriri and golden vow for even more dmg.
In my experience with the game I like to optimize dmg for the weapon and have the incantations as support, I tend to have way higher dmg output with this method, but everyone has different playstyles. Dope video and looking forward to more!

@@Geminus30 hell yeah I’m glad you liked it bro. Now w the dlc this build got even better! For PvP you’d use the Aged Ones Exultation, spear, claw, and lacerating cross tree (10% attack dmg to crouch attacks) which would make this build extremely lethal. Also the nanaya’s torch is a crazy tool for madness build up and the madding hand aswell. For PvE I’d still keep it the same unless you wanted to swap rotten winged sword insignia for the crouch attack tali (lacerating crossed tree)

@@Geminus30 I haven’t used them much since the dlc dropped but I used to love them pre dlc. You have to free aim a lot more I’d say like 90% of the time since they hard nerfed the tracking but it’s still viable esp with the new torch and talis. Also black dumpling helm give another 10% boost when madness proc so you can get pretty crazy dmg after a madness proc, then jump attack and that’s essentially a free kill

Can you make a play through with only the madness things
I've been carrying a madness build through my entire playthrough, and with the right items you could really breeze through the bosses (a tip, dont lock in and hit enemies point blank when using the Vyke ash of war..use it just right next to them and it hits way harder 👍)
A new DLC madness build is in the TO-do list. New items = more POWA

Wish there were more madness weapons / armor / talismans and incantations and that enemies in PVE weren’t that immune.
Only issue is Unendurable Frenzy is late game and 2 max Frenzy Seals is actually, believe it or not, worse than a +25 godslayer seal and one frenzy seal when casting with the gs

The ash of war is alot stronger if you get the right sweet spot in the range
Yeah I’ve been messing around with it, it’s kinda like a worse storm assault because there isn’t a big Storm AoE when you start or land, but if you hit right where the spears land it does a lot of dmg and synergizes perfectly with the claw and spear talisman. The Frenzy Flame AoE is good for PvP if they’re close to madness because they almost always get hit w the flames.
Tell me something if you got the chance. How do you enjoy the non power stanced spear? I absolutely adore the partisan, but I haven't messed much with Vyke's spear since I love the Halberd so much.
Madness spells seem really fun without being as insane as bleed tbh, been thinkin about it since Faith is my go to in this game.
To be honest I’m not a real fan of non power stance or 2 handing one spear. If there were more attack combos I will def use 2h cause of the dual wield nerf. It’s funny , the build I’m working for the next video is a Halberd. The reach is great.
Madness builds are great tbh. Too bad there isn’t much around Madness like bleed.

I wanted to make a build like this ever since i went to the madness place (i dont remember what its called but its where you find vyke)but i feel like you need to do WAY too much to do it

I'm going for something similar as well. If you're going for a Dex/Faith build the Tree Spear is a good option. If you're going more towards Strength the lance or the Serpent Hunter are great options too.

No, only the black dumpling head piece sadly.
it will be too strong with more gears. Howl of shiburi already provide a damage buff, incantation talismans and seal already exist, together with dumpling head piece as the video mentioned you will be getting a huge spike already

Honestly i just hate spears in this game, the worst weapon type they chose for madness. Hoping dlc adds at least ONE other masness weapon so we don't have to deal with the spear.
