Idaho student murders NEW UPDATE: Police search for white Hyundai Elantra near murder scene

- The Moscow Police Department said Wednesday that detectives want to speak with occupants of a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra that was near the off-campus home where four University of Idaho students were murdered on Nov. 13.
"Investigators believe the occupant(s) of this vehicle may have critical information to share regarding this case," police said in a news release.
FOX News reports police still have not identified a suspect or located a murder weapon in the murders of Xana Kernodle, 20, Ethan Chapin, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21.

This is so heartbreaking. I can't help but think of the parents probably going out there with their kids when they first started at the university, likely helping them move their stuff in, and now this is how it ends. I can't even begin to imagine how they are getting through this.

This reminds me of the Molly Tibbets case when they used cameras to find the killers car because it was in the area she normally runs. I feel that this was the FBI’s work. I think this will get us one step closer to solving this case.

its not rocket science thats there's cams everywhere nowadays. doorbell cams, street cams, driveway cams....even the food vendor had a cam up. local police are able to compile clues, tips, etc from them.

Now, there's a thought. somewhere there is a security camera that the general public isn't aware of or some property owner had a camera mounted and maybe the white Hyundai Elantra is the only vehicle that isn't showing up in real time within that area since the murders.

Yep, if they had anything remotely probable you would have seen searches being carried out to prevent evidence from being destroyed and to make it appear they are making progress. They are desperate for anything when they are looking for random cars that might have been in the area. You know they’d have a list of cars associated with any potential suspects and a list of any similar cars registered in the area. The fact they are putting out this plea for help shows they have nothing. This case definitely has potential to never be solved unless the perp wants to take credit for it.

They need to run registrations for every vehicle in the county that matches that description! They did that in my county when a girl was hit and killed. They went to every house with a vehicle like that till they found the person that hit her.

Actually that is what they will do but its going to take along time to verify every person that has one.

It’s sad that as we read these comments, the families are going through their kid’s belongings and remembering.
They were taken to a large storage place until the families are ready. Not one of those parents are rushing to get those things. and i know it. They are grieving, even looking at those things are too much to bare for them right now. .

Sounds selfish, I know, but I have been following this case from the beginning,as a mother it really took a toll on me. I literally have nightmares about these poor kids, I just can't handle it anymore. I can only imagine what these parents are going through. It's unbearable.

I have been following this case from the very beginning and was sick in bed for many days, feverish and sleeping to various UA-cam channels talking about it. Also, my daughter left for college this year so maybe that's one of the reasons. I have been following many cases now and I have been a member of the online true crime community for a very long time, none of them have ever made such an effect on me. Yeah, I am taking this very personally: it could have happened to any of us, to any of our kids. This is literally what nightmares are made of.

I just hope they're serious/legitimate pieces of info and not just something to calm people down for the time being. He , in Clearfield , north of the huge military training base, said he "killed them because they accused him of something that made him mad ?" THEN THE CLEARFIELD VIDEO DELEATED THAT STATEMENT from their News AUDIO.? Why? What color was the auto HE was using for his evil deed?

I think it’s an attempt to smoke out the killer.
Call the school and ask for them to search for the car in their database (look for white Hyundai Elantra.) Maybe they go to the college and registered a parking pass for said car.
LONG (maybe a week or more) before they would release this car info, they have already pulled state records for all white Hyundai, Toyota, VW, KIA and maybe Ford vehicles. Located them, Air tagged them (with FBI style air tags obviously) and already know who the owner of the EXACT car is. They are likely watching them using several methods seeing if they will come in to talk to them willingly.
Nobody ever will stay in that house it literally would freak me out if I found out 4 people where murdered in it and I lived in it they should demolish the home

Well if it's a student or local resident this should clear up pretty quick. Such a small population there. Not saying the murders would be solved, just saying once word gets out about this vehicle the phones will start ringing off the hook and they'll be able to rule this person in or out.

By the time they waited 3 WEEKS to say 'oh, we realized there was this car', in my opinion was a convenient time to find a big lead, since the parents were really putting it out to the media what a bad job the cops were doing and how frustrated they were, and I think around the same day they hired a lawyer. So the first thing that popped into my mind, was like, yeah right, they suddenly 'noticed' a car they forgot to mention for 3 weeks? It's a goosechase to keep the media and the parents satisfied, and it doesn't even exist. That's what I think anyway. Something that obvious even a moron would have said something right away about it.
Let's not rule out the roommates and or neighbors yet. Best way to rule them out is to get permission for their phone records to see where their roommates or neighbors were at, when the crime was committed. Hopefully the people responsible are held accountable.
Doubt it’s the roommates a girl can’t kill 3 girls and a dude with a knife. And their story lines up with what scared women would do in such a situation.

NOW LOOK for this car getting OFF of the freeway 95 and find the guy in North Utah and listen to why he killed his grandparents the same WEEKEND ; Can't the police find DMV PHOTOS OF this car EXITING the freeway to be sure the Clearfield, UTAH murderer isn't connected somehow ? COINCIDENCE. Same type of brutality AND calculated thinking of both killers ? He , in Clearfield , north of the huge military training base, said he "killed them because they accused him of something that made him mad ?" THEN THE CLEARFIELD VIDEO DELEATED THAT STATEMENT from their News AUDIO.? Why? What color was the auto HE was using for his evil deed?
What "reason" could there be for "not" informing the public the murder in Clearfield passed a lie detector test btw ? No reason at all.
@@lazurm nope just a example of educated peoples conclusion that would have had this case solved already. which is clearly lacking in their police force no wonder why serial killers reeked havoc in that area in the early 70s they were way smarter than law enforcement there. They have help from fbi and all they have is a random car driving as a piece of evidence lol.

So they need to first ask every parent that has their kid attend college there, if their kid drives this vehicle. (If killer is a college student)

the college has a register of all the cars w a parking pass allowed on college property, you have to register your car when you enroll for classes.

Curious as to why they haven’t checked out nearby stores/gas stations surveillance cameras on major roads in and out of that area? I mean that person/persons would have to make a stop somewhere. Or maybe they already have checked that information out.

It's someone who knew them, knew their schedule that evening and possibly was aware of their state of mind that night that he could defeat the 4. Perhaps someone who was hanging where they were and perhaps murder for hire and alerted the killer🙅♀️

LE always knows more than they release to the public. There is obviously a lot of evidence here. They will catch the person or persons involved. It’s always comes down to not what they know but what they can prove.
