Never hesitate to give us a history lesson. History is just a series of events we all view through a different lens. I can always learn something looking at these events through the lens of another person.

Hey Ash my home town is Dallas Oregon and I used to fish the Willamette river all the time for Springer's awesome video I hope some day I can get back to Oregon and hook up with you and show you rickreal creek that runs through Dallas and hook you up on some spring or summer steelhead and salmon in the Creek. Not huge but fun and awesome for such a small creek. Thanks again for the videos always love em. Northwest fishing is the greatest.

Nice catch! Turn your clicker off after hook up, awesome sound for hook ups not so much for reeling in the fish. Great video

Wow. The pictures of the shores covered in refuse was deeply shocking. There is a lot to boast about in the PNW, but seeing pieces of our own dark history and what could come again is humbling. Thanks for sharing and highlighting that lesson for us Ash.

Thank you for your perspective. To have a resource, like the Willamette, in the middle of a city is a spectacular thing. But we often forget what a resource it was, before the city. I think that it is important to remember the past. Especially from the perspective of those most influenced by it.
Love your channel, and your enthusiasm. And, I love you spending time in Oregon. Seriously, whoever makes it to the Olympic Peninsula. Although, I really do love that place

@@BadAshOutdoors One of the things I love most about your Channel, aside from your on-camera personality, is your perspective. I can find a hundred channels produced by old white guys. But a female, indigenous guide is very unique. Especially, in my neck of the woods. I hope that you continue to share your perspective. And how things are perceived differently by you.

Oh man hat a nice fish! Springer is the best tasting salmon there is!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a fish like that right up to the boat and lost it, so frustrating😤
One tip though, unless you like hearing the reel clicking as you have a fish on I would turn it off when you do. I’ve ruined the clicker on my reels that way, it wears them out prematurely when you constantly have it on.

    • @BadAshOutdoors

@@BadAshOutdoors It's important. Not to be preachy, still change comes to us all whether we want it or not. Our first nations people and the environment deserved much better treatment than they got. Don't know if you are aware but the Willametter River near the tank farm upstream from the power lines is a national superfund site. River sediments are badly contaminated by industrial practices of the past. People shouldn't eat many/much of the resident species in the area. Keep up the good work Ash!

@@BadAshOutdoors I have always been interested on the history side of the rivers and lakes (natural or men made) while going fly fishing from steelhead in the Olympic peninsula to golden trout in California or Apache Apache trout in Arizona to bull trout in Montana. So much beautiful country out there! And of Course the history around this places. Even when is good or bad as you explain it in your video! saludos from a Mexican guy!🙂✌🏽

I saw my boat in there a few times. I was the guy that told you you I had just watched your Dory video with Kyle. We caught one right after you caught yours in almost the same spot. When I saw Shane tied up at the dock while I was launching, I told my friend that Shane is one of the nicest guides on the river and he's super fishy. Tell him thanks for not making a liar out of me.

Whenever I filet a fish the cat becomes unrelenting in the need for sustenance. I then scallop by the backbone and get every scrap for them. I realize as I’m doing it that the cat gets fresher meat then most humans do.
