    I'm disappointed that Kaitlyn felt pressured to bow to the white privilege fiction. That made me lose some respect for her. But she has been amazing on court and off. Even after wins and losses she was always polite, articulate and genuine. There wasn't much of that before her in the WNBA. She has some amazing teammates. However, the super success of the WNBA is indeed because of her. She is the singular reason. This woman has drawn crowds that the NBA hasn't had sometimes. The verbal attacks on Caitland off the court on social media is despicable. And the same goes for the utterly evil and thuggish conduct of black players by opposing team members should warrant arrests. It boils down to petty jealousy and racism on the part of black players.

    Clark lost a lot of respect from fans by bowing the knee to woke and identity politics. She supported the kneepad queen for president, so there's no surprise there but I held out hope. Personally, I'm done with her. Good luck, lady, but people are beyond fed up with anything and everything leftist to the point of vengence.

      "She supported the kneepad queen for president," When did Caitlin Clark verbally or with a written post anywhere, declare her support for the "...kneepad queen..."? She posted a like to a (tweet or Instagram post) to Taylor Swift post about voting. How is that supporting "...the kneepad queen..."?

      @@brittreactsBecause what Caitlin said was preaching, not politics. That line gets blurred these days...
      But preaching an authoritarian af marxist ideology will cause a lot to tune out the WNBA.
      Is it so difficult to understand, some just want Basketball? Not be reminded of how correct Yuri Besmenov was, and how American colleges are now just a churches for an authoritarian ideology.
      Of course people will turn off the WNBA.

    So far, this is really the only mis step Caitlin has made. Using the language of race hustlers will never improve anything.

  • @boosuedon
    @boosuedon 4 години тому +1

    Caitlin did not say that she has been the benefactor of white privilege, only that she acknowledges that the phenomenon does exist. She started out saying that she believes that she has earned everything that she has accomplished. She did NOT apologize for being white and it drives me nuts to hear such things from right wing pundits like Megyn Kelly. There have been a number of very skilled WNBA players that are white, Sabrina Ionescu, Sue Bird, Kelsey Plum, to name a few. None of them pushed the needle at all and they were white! So, the "Race" argument is really a non factor pertaining to Caitlins popularity. She is the total package! Highly skilled in all aspects of the game, not just one, humble, good natured and remains positive regardless of how she has been treated. Never says anything negative about anyone or anything. She is pure Basketball, the quintessential competitor, that is her focus! She doesn't come to play a game wearing false eyelashes and a wig. In fact, if you go back and look at her appearance when she was playing in the 8th grade she hasn't changed at all! The LOGO threes are always fun but what I enjoy most is her dribbling skills driving to the basket, and her elete passing ability! She is just so much fun to watch, and that is her draw. She appreciates the fans and spends a lot of time with them, signing autographs and thanking them for coming to the game. NOBODY ELSE is doing that, just Caitlin, and that is why we love her!
    Britt, as a subscriber, I appreciate you and your opinion on things such as this. KUDOS GIRL! WELL DONE!

      @cobra7282 4 години тому +1

      She is without a doubt suggesting that she has benefitted from white privilege. Which in turn somewhat negates her starting with "I earned everything I have accomplished". That is the point. The main issue though is that she is only fueling the already nauseating focus on race. She is also singling out the under-recognized black players as if there aren't also great white players that also haven't received much recognition either. Breanna Stewart is arguably the best player in the league right now and Diana Taurasi is arguably the greatest in WNBA history. Both not black and yet have received nothing close to the popularity or recognition that CC receives. It's almost like it's simply not about race in the first place.

    CC is the golden goose for the WNBA and all the older players showed their appreciation for her loud and clear in the rookie season. Imagine if CC had got seriously hurt by one of them antics they pulled on her... Don't abuse the golden goose, she will not lay eggs if you push her around all the time. Your jealousy is showing... She is just next level and you have to work harder to match her play to compete. This push for higher skill play will eventually elevate the whole league and maybe even some day see them make a profit... It is an exciting time for the WNBA and you need to just run with it and not fight against it.

    A'ja Wilson, a WNBA star for the Las Vegas Aces, signed her Nike shoe contract extension in May 2024. Her signature shoe, the A'One, is scheduled for release in spring 2025. Wilson first signed with Nike as a rookie in 2018.
    She re-signed with Nike in December 2024 on a six-year contract extension.
    The A'One is Wilson's first signature shoe, making her the 13th WNBA player to receive one.
    She is also the first Black woman to have a signature basketball shoe with Nike in 22 years.
    Wilson worked with Nike on the design of the shoe, including the laces and Easter eggs for fans.
    She said she wanted the shoe to be low top and light.
    Wilson's signature shoe is part of a wave of women's basketball shoe deals, which also include:
    Caitlin Clark, who signed an eight-year deal with Nike worth a reported $28 million
    Sabrina Ionescu, who has her own signature shoe with Nike
    JuJu Watkins, who signed a lucrative extension with Nike

    Caitlin should have signed with Ice Cube's "Big Three" and avoided all this nonsense with the WNBA. She's got game; that's all that "should" matter. The question to ask is why hasn't sponsors in the past been willing to "invest" this much in any previous WNBA star (Black or White)?? Secondly, why is she apologizing for getting PAID??

    Caitlin comes across a decent young woman who is extremely talented. The fact she is getting huge sponsorship from big companies is not her fault. The CEO’s of these companies may be offering her all this money because she is white, then they are the ones at fault not Caitlin. She has not spoken out against the black women who have tried to bully and attack her on court, unlike a lot of her black rivals. Racism works both ways. Colour has nothing to do with talent. Stop complaining and play the game without all the drama. If more people want to watch the WNBA it helps you all whatever your colour.

    5:55 NBA players weren't always paid big bucks either. It took something like 20-30 years for the NBA to start gaining notice and getting sponsorships and advertising attention, and they had much more athleticism to make the game exciting, not to mention the stunt games played by the Harlem Globetrotters gaining a lot of publicity too.
    To this day, the WNBA operates at a loss, and has to be subsidized by the NBA, meaning they've had a safety net and therefore no real incentive to up their game, pun intended.

  • @stevecollins7607

    Her black teammates weren't offered the same deals as her because firstly, they never achieved the same level of excellence as her before entering the WNBA, never elevated the game of basketball like she did, as demonstrated by the massive increase in attendance records and viewership records, and simply did not have the same marketability and sponsorship appeal. She achieved all of this through hard work and unrelenting dedication to excellence, and in so doing, became a transcendent talent with massive basketball and cross-over appeal. Caitlin is the complete package of class on and off the court and exceptional media savvy, she's articulate and presents well in front of the camera, she rises above the noise and doesn't speak hastily and compound the madness surrounding her. All of these attributes make her very marketable, which is why major companies are lining up to have her represent their brand.

    I think it’s fine for Clark to say what she said. Any self aware player has to understand the race ideology that prevails in the WNBA and she is going to have to at least acknowledge that if she is going to endure in this league. If she is all in, I have no reason to doubt her sincerity.
    I think it would be ugly if any fan follows Clark just BECAUSE she is white. I don’t think the that’s most new WNBA fans--but I am sure there is always an idiot comment in a large crowd.
    Whether Clark had to say-or wanted to say -what she did, it would hopefully put the issues “to rest”.
    Unfortunately, such proclamations are often not enough for the prevailing race ideology-especially if new dramas erupt about money, the friction of competition, or idiot fandom in the upcoming seasons. Color (or non-color) is such an easy scapegoat

    WOW...Caitlin has brought so much attention and finances to the game. She got to where she is, by hard work and dedication. I never watched a WNBA game until I kept hearing about her. When I watched a little, it was obvious that she was targeted by jealous vindictive players and the refs and coaches just let it kept happening. Her stats speak for themselves, its sad that her masters made her bend the knee. She brought alot of eyeballs to the game....she has now lost alot of them. Broke alot of little girls hearts. Sad, I wont watch another play from them. Lost alot of respect for her. When black ball players started doing good in the MLB.....did they stop and give credit to the guys who "built the league", ignoring their own dedication and hard work ? No, didi anyone expext them to ? No. They were admired for their hard work.
