This is exactly why I am hooked on this channel. You guys fill in the blanks and explain thuroughly. This knowledge disappeared with the GM assembly workers and the manuals are long gone and never digitized. No sequence or torque specs. Again this channel gives me the courage to do it myself and I credit for the progress on my 64 ! Thanks! More of Bobby please! Everybody loves an underdog and that’s Bobby.
Thanks for passing on what you learned to others to make it less hard for them with their cars. Your ride is looking so dope. When she is done it will be show stopper. Gracias for what you do. 😍
Much respect for your tenacity. I like how you get in the weeds on your build(s). You and your bros have a great partnership. Keep the videos coming. I thoroughly enjoy them
Another great episode. I have been there numerous times. I saw a 1963 Buick Fisher Shop Manual that really goes into adjustments. Especially top frame to window relationship. That manual definitely indicates to get the side glass adjusted and level first, then lower the top frame into the window frames. Also, the 59-60 Chevrolet Shop manual covers top frame adjustments. One more aspect that you have to do is "stack height adjustments". But if you had it down already and it lowered into the well, you might be fine. I would not install the rear seat and quarter trims until you can lower the top and see how it folds. All in the 59-60 Chevrolet shop manual supplement. Those pages are falling out of my manual, I have fiddled with this so much. Sure is looking great!
Thanks for posting these videos. I will be referring back to this when I put the rack on my 61. My friend's 60 rag had those latches come loose on the freeway while he was hauling his car to a show. I am glad they changed the design in 61.
Bro I just enlisted the help of someone helping me push the top forward to latch it on. It goes in there tight. It even buckled the back quarter panel.
very nice to know i have a 62 and the rack was up high too the front and when down i cound not install my boot but its all out of wack so this summer im going to take your advise and adust it right thanks for the info oh and i have the issue too on both my verts when its cold the top is hard to latch
Great info bro! That lil extra adjustment makes all the difference and Totally agree nada out there BUT THANKS TO YOU I can get that last 5% and get it perfect 😎 Appreciate you!!
Just a thought put the car inside that room where you painted with some heat your probably going to have to adjust again when you get those pieces you mentioned with anything new takes some finesse you'll get it you and the team ✌️😁😁
A lot of adjustments which affect many different directions and clearances to be delt with. The Factory Service has some information on the top adjustment but I do not know how much they would have helped you. The Temperature is a big factor as you well know. On newer Camaros the top will not go down if it is below a preset temperature. I did bend the 5th bow on a 17 Camaro by putting the top down when it was too cold. Looks like you are very close to getting the top to look real good.
Spent Christmas in Memphis and it was Great, should have stayed longer. Made it to New Smyrna Beach yesterday and just getting set up. A little cool for here only low 60's. Might have to go to TX for some warmer weather 🙂
Beautiful brother 😍 hey did you put the cowl before the chrome piece under the windshield or the chrome piece before the cowl mines a 64? And merry Christmas 🎄
