  • Divers watch bezel not working? If it's stuck or a bit too tight, you can fix it at home. It's a simple task. All you need is some WD-40 with a tiny nozzle. Spray some of the solution on the gap between the watch head and the bezel. Let it penetrate and sit for a few minutes. Wiper off excess liquid with paper towels. Try if it works. Repeat if necessary.
    And it's that easy!

WD-40 has solvents in it that will destroy a silicone washer in a short period of time.

I tried WD40 on a very stiff bezel and it got it moving but it was still hard to turn so I used 3in1 oil and that worked much better and now the bezel turns with a satisfying action.

BAD ADVICE! DO NOT USE WD40!!! It will damage your watch!

Agree- silicon lubricant on a sponge and then wipe the inside of the bezel and the gasket on it. Takes an extra 2 minutes and won’t rot the gasket or seize up within a month or two

I clean it with a soft toothbrush and lightly soapy water first then spray silicon lubricant on a sponge and rub the gasket/inside of the bezel on the sponge and that’s enough.

wouldn't wd40 ruin the gaskets by the crystal?

Soap, warm water and and an old toothbrush will fix most sticky bezel issues and always best to try first. Avoid solvents or you might find your bezel insert decides to go off and explore on its own!

Strikehold also works pretty well too! I like StrikeHold because it dries and doesn't attract dirt as much. I had a stuck bezel and did the StrikeHold attempt and waited 5 minutes and it was still stuck. While watching this video I tried it again and it did work. Might be worth waiting 10 minutes instead of 5.

You need to take off the bezel, clean and lube gasket. I fixed a 6309 turtle just like that with no WD40.

WD 40 is not good to use for this. Sure it will get in and loosen it but it will dry out and then provide no lubrication. You need to drip some oil in.

I googled SKX007 bezel getting tighter…found this video and BOOM…the bezel 5 mins before WD40 was struggling to move at all, this had only happened over a couple of days…a few squirts and 5 mins later as good as ever!!! being greedy I’ve done it again to double up the goodness. Cheers for the video 👍🏻

I just got a Casio Duro from amazon and I wasnt sure it was already used. Also the bezel didnt move AT ALL and I was about to return it. Funny thing, I didnt remove the screen protector (because I was cautious) and this was what fixed the bezel 🤦🏻‍♂️

I just got in a Casio Duro yesterday. Bezel stuck as well. The screen protector does not seem to be interfering with bezel. maybe i will remove it anyway to see if that helps, otherwise, going to send it back

Don't do this, only silicon oil for watches

Why not do it properly and pop the bezel off and fit a new o-ring?

I found the slowness of this video very helpful. After 40 years of using WD40, I now know where you insert the red straw into the nozzle

I have a Citizen promaster BNO 150 for five months now.
Only on my wrist, never even been in the water.
The bezel just started to get almost impossible to move ??

? 8 min video about WD40. The way to do it, is properly. Remove the bezel, regrease and replace. This is bargain basement stuff. WD40 is also corrosive,

I have an Invicta with a non-rotating bezel. After wearing it for a month I noticed the bezel is actually rotating in both directions and it feels like I could easily pry it off. Invicta's warranty doesn't cover this issue. Should I j7st pry it off then super glue it back in place?

One of the most irresponsible watch "repair" videos I've ever seen. For God's sake, either remove the bezel & clean the gunk out that's making it stick (or repair/replace the bezel spring if needed) or take it somewhere that will do that for you. DON'T DOUSE YOUR EXPENSIVE WATCH IN HIGHLY PENETRATIVE SOLVENTS THAT WILL DESTROY IT!!

I have an Aragon Divemaster II which I got just 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I noticed that the bezel suddenly took a lot of effort to turn, until it just became too hard to turn. I tried putting in some oil but it didn't help. Dunno if I can still turn it. This watch effing sucks.

Why has NOBODY tried to make a BETTER bezel? Obviously, these watch companies use a flawed design that they refuse to improve on. That's why I refuse to buy watches with bezels. I have a Wenger watch with a bezel and it is totally impossible to remove it. I can't get anything to fit in that impossible gap on the watch and struggling for five minutes does nothing. I suggest staying away from watches with these. Just use a watch with a timer instead if you have to go diving.
