Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy have question marks entering draft | Chris Simms Unbuttoned | NFL on NBC
/ nflonnbc
You could tell Chris wasn’t high on Maye when they interviewed him at the combine, probably the worst Maye interview ever. Very awkward, Florio was asking most of the questions, it was the exact opposite with every other quarterback
just rewatched it and man are you reaching, nothing awkward about that video lol
How much money do I need to pool together to never hear from Chris Simms again?
Nobody forces you to watch the video
@@JohnAC4 nobody forces Chris Simms to post disingenuous content that’s just meant to farm engagements
@@JohnAC4 MrC thinks he knows about NFL players..lol~
@@MrCgr33 translation - I didn't get enough hugs from mommy, so I am pissed off at the world.
@@matthewmatt5285 Brian Thomas over Marvin Harrison Jr? Bo Nix over Drake Maye? Yeah, Simms is fantastic
Media play tricks on the mind, Maye may be the who be the best out of all, gotta be careful
I’m a Giants fan and a Michigan fan so I have some bias here. That being said, I understand there’s questions around JJ however, if you asked him to throw the ball 40 times he could do it effectively. He’s a great leader. He’s athletic has a great arm and he’s very smart. He’s just like every other quarterback and needs to go to the right system. I think he’s gonna prove a lot of people wrong looking back at this draft.
They ALL have question marks entering the draft. Even Caleb Williams.
Some have done impressive things though like Caleb Williams and clever plays, Jayden also plus his good mobility, Michael Penix with the accuracy and most yards thrown.
Connor and Simms need a show together. These two are just top tier evaluators and I love when he's with Simms.
Connor has no business evaluating NFL talent...
Maye has only played 2 seasons. Daniels 5 seasons same as Nix as a quick comparison. Can you honestly say Maye wouldn't be as good or better than some of these guys with the same starts and surrounded talent?
I can honestly say that I that Maye is at best the 5th best QB in the draft. He is struggling to pickup things working with the guys at QB Country. They said that Carter Bradley is picking up things better than Maye, and that Maye is letting his frustrations show and affect other things he is doing.
Any team that needs a qb and passes on Bo Nix will regret it later! He is THE most accomplished, prepared and smarted qb in this draft period! He had ALL the tools, his football and regular IQ are off the charts (winner of the Campbell Trophy
Aka the Academic Heisman) played in more games than any college qb in history and is a coaches son! Hes the REAL deal and will win multiple rings with some team if they’re smart enough to draft him! He’d be perfect in Minnesota! But being a lifong Vikings fan, they’ll find a way to screw it ip and waste a pick in McCarthy! He’ll be a perennial backup and out of the league in 5 years! 🤦🏻♂️
If simms says he is bad, time to take him. Simms couldn't evaluate a paper bag
CHRIS SIMMS IS ON TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN ON EVALUATIONS BUT I HAVE TO DISAGREE W/ HIM ON ONE THING, I GOT PENIX JR OVER BO NIX.
It is probably more valuable in evaluations to point out potential Zack Wilson's, than push them all into a starter bucket as if they have no problems and not enough data.
If it was that easy it wouldn't happen at a high rate
my feel is more or less JJ can be Aaron Rodgers he can become a top 5 guy potentially 3 years from now with a more spread system at his disposal. with Maye its like Maye is the rawest in this class but i think he's the most naturally gifted of everyone in the class, whats bothering me is you compare them to Jayden and Jayden has the highest floor but his ceilings almost certainly topped out and he won't carry a bad team at the end of the day it makes me uncomfortable to dismiss the other QB's from the same conversation after Caleb, in all seriousness, Nabers and Thomas' impact on Jayden wasn't small, and its different than CJ. Stroud has a wider base and believe me it helps with power. i cringe at how the board is generally stacked, if nix and penix end up on better rosters they'll prolly be better players than most of the class. and so its almost like they're lucky the media isn't obsessed with them.
Woah woah. Mercy me. JJ got really small hands. He will never have/develop A-Ron’s cannon arm. You can’t throw the pigskin a quarter mile if you can’t grip it and rip it.
Aaron Rodgers? Please get back on your medication asap!
@@RK-um9tu Everyone is so out of pocket about this, Aaron entered the league at 24, has his first pro start at 27, he had similar college numbers, they started the same amount of years, JJ's numbers are better, he's 3 years younger (is he even 22 on draft night? He has a national title and he's mechanically superior at the same career stage. I promise you, that you don't know how to project as effectively as me with this. you don't see it coming. but someone has to.
@@johnofmalta this is fair but it depends on the grip and the type of building he plays in, i'll just say he played at Michigan for 3 years that should answer a lot of questions about it. freakkin cold place.
Chris Simms was an elite QB he knows everything 😂😂
NFL on NBC, Yay! I liked this video so much, it made me smile!
NFL on NBC, I loved this video so much, I had to hit the like button!
Maye is going to bust big time.
JJ has a much higher chance of being a bust
@@chaseparker1993 Maye will.
Williams is going to be the bust of this group. I think Maye might end up being the best of this class with solid talent around him and a stable coaching staff.
@@Jakery1057 If Maye goes to the Patriots they have one of the worst rosters in the NFL.
@CarreraTrackOntheFloor The roster isn't complete and as Maye sits the season they'll have all this offseason, next offseason and next draft to build around him. If they draft him he won't see the field for quite some time.
There once was a quarterback named Maye,
As an NFL starter won’t see the light of day.
S-t for an arm,
Like a schoolhouse marm.
South park’s character says, “He sucks mm-Kay.”
LMAO - he's just like Daniel Jones...
I’d day, “Drake Maye has s-t for an arm.” But I’m a gentleman so I won’t.
JJ doesn't have a single question mark.
I think the question mark is if he can carry a big workload
@@JohnAC4 He easily can carry a large workload.
😂😂 he’s literally never had to win a game before and he threw like 12 times a game. Trey Lance 2.0
He didn’t carry a load in the offense for a national championship winning team.
He also threw to open targets more than any other qb
@lukiepookie6227 LoL, he ran the offense and won a championship. He has 2 plus High end tight window throws per game. You only watch boxscores. He checks every single box for a 15 year franchise QB.
