My ballgown has a dramatic beaded bodice and English Netting. I had such a hard time finding a veil to match. I ended up choosing a raw edge fingertip length veil, made from the leftover material from my dress. 🥰 It matches perfectly, and doesn’t compete with the ballgown!
I just ordered my Martina Liãna dress 1442 and I was wondering if you had a recommendation for a cathedral veil that would match/go with the dress? I’m open to different options of edged or laced
I'd do a raw plain tulle veil that's 110" or 120" for more drama. My boutique sells them (thewhiteflower.com) or do something with a beaded edge or lace trim (no lace on the body, just the edge and perhaps sparse on the edge like this (minsterbridal.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/veil-avl0055-2.webp) but in lace that matches your dress better.
I wish I watched this video before, I ditched the idea to have a veil because the back of my dress is quiet detailed. But still unsure I hope I will not regret it
Do you have any recommendations for a resource to see what different shapes of veils look like on someone? I'm just so confused with what shape to design my veil in - I see things about how a veil is just a circle, things suggesting it's a "teardrop shape", things suggesting that edging goes all the way around, etc. I would rather not have to go around and cut muslins in all the possible shapes to see how they drape/look like on the head, isn't there a resource to see what the full veil looks like laid out and then what it looks like draped on the body? Thank you!
It would be quite tedious for someone to take full length photos from above to show the patterns. I personally don't think that veil designs matter in regards to how they look on different people unlike a dress neckline which may look great on 1 person and unflattering on another. Just look at photos of veils with different cuts on brides and choose the aesthetic you like best. Any shape will look fine on any person.
@cavinelizabeth yep, my goal is indeed to find a resource that has one singular circle veil, labeled as such, on someone. Then another "whatever shape", with a picture of what that shape is flat, and then on a person. I'm sorry, I didn't realize this resource was solely about the fabric, I'm looking other places to determine what lace patterns I'll be making. (You may have noticed I said I wanted to see what the *shape of the veil* looked like on someone, not the *lace pattern*). Obviously you are not the person to answer my question, I'm sorry for assuming you had this sort of knowledge. However, I do not understand why you need to be rude about it. :). Good luck!
I have about 3 I have thrifted or bought... and I found a cool one that I like more... but also found this awesome handmade veils and have a few I like from there... but also want to use my moms... but also have been looking at others...
Keep up the great work Cavin. Thanks for pushing through with the hard work and time that it takes to edit and record a video for us as well as going about your daily life. Love the video. Whenever I become famous I’ll remember you lol. ❤🫶🏾

I am only 4’ 11”, so my seamstress had a lot of extra material to work with after removing the train from my ballgown!😂
I didn't consider this! Thanks for the idea

wow you have some stunning dresses!
thank you so much!
When you are already planning and researching for your wedding but don’t even have a partner yet 😂😅
Love that!
My dress is a sheath with an over skirt. Heavily beaded and sequence. But I’m confused with what veil to buy
Do you have a link to what the dress looks like that you can share?
Interesting
