A way that causes less (or no) damage to the screw caps and surrounding plastic is to melt the end of a hot glue stick, press it against the cap, and after it cools, pull on the stick. Pops the cap off, and just peel the cap from the stick, and repeat.
Thank you so much for this video!! one of my little diamond painting diamonds got suck inside the cover plate and it was driving me nuts. The faceplate was also getting dusty too. I was so nervous the entire time opening it up but I got it open and was able to finally clean it!! It looks so much better now. I'm so happy I successfully took apart a Tama for the first time! :D
So if I just wanted to change the paper insert, can I pry the faceplate off the way you did in the beginning of the video and swap the new paper insert in? Ty so much btw ^^
something must've got wrong with my tama while they where making it. brand new out of the box the paper under the faceplate is dirty. i was considering swapping out my faceplate but idk if im willing to tear it down completely xD
That's exactly why I'm watching this video, there's an annoying ass hair under the plastic of the faceplate of my Tamagotchi smart and I wanna remove it so bad
Hey fuzzynchic changing my faceplate was successful but now the microphone doesn’t work. Any idea why? I followed all of your steps carefully and now the microphone won’t pic up my voice or noise.
Never mind fuzzynchic. For anyone who wants to replace their faceplate don’t be afraid! I had no idea the mic was located under the fake left button you can see a black circle, that's the microphone. The microphone picks the blowing up through the little opening you see in the left bottom of the plastic. There’s a metal stick that’s on the + positive side. You have to make sure that stick goes through the bottom right box out of the 4 black boxes in the cylinder case that’s in front of the back of the face plate!

Thank you for the tip! I didn't think of that; it's really helpful!

Yay congratulations! It must have been a relief being able to open it up to clean it.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, my daughter Tamagotchi Smart got soak with her milk😔 i hope her Tamagotchi will still last long 🫠
oh no! i hope your daughter's tamagotchi is ok now! just let it sit to dry a few days and don't turn it on until you are sure its completely dry!

I don't think that's a good idea. You risk damaging the plastic and breaking something. I think I was lucky I didn't break anything while doing that!
@@FuzzyNChic I'm just terrified of opening up the back and taking out the motherboard 😭 youre right tho I might just end up leaving it how It comes :P
Thank you for the video. it is very useful

Aww man sorry to hear that. It happens sometimes, I heard it happened with the P's too. If you can bear with it then there's no need to open it up.

So I'm not super tech savvy and sorry if this is a dumb question... But is it ok to use a magnetic screwdriver?
Yes that's fine. I use a magnetic screwdriver too, because it's easier to pick up the screws!

How can i edit/change my name on Tamagotchi smart?thks
You can't. The only way is to reset the device but you'll lose progress
@@FuzzyNChic, thankyou, can you tell me how to reset the tamagotchi smart?
@@morningdew8811 there's a small reset button on the back of your device. You need a thin stick to poke into it
@@FuzzyNChic ok,thank u
