He almost had the accent down but dipped in and out of West Country and Irish at times 😂 fair play though

As a Scot, i genuinely felt we were capable of getting out the group. I felt we could've caught the Germans napping, to take a point, beat the Swiss, and i really felt the Magyars were going to cause problems for teams, so we'd have drawn with them. I was confident that Clarke would've learned lessons from 2021. We'd played well v the Dutch in the friendly, and were the better team for a good 60 or so minutes. We showed moments v France.
To then enter the tournament in the manner we did, was disgraceful. We never tried to win any of the games. Yes, we were unfortunate with injuries going into the tournament, but that's no excuse for what we had to endure. We were passive v Germany, and deserved the skelping we got. We showed a wee bit v Switzerland, were still too passive, and seemed to settle for the draw.
Going into the Hungary game, Clarke was asked about the position we were in, and came out with something to the effect of " 4 points was the target going into the tournament, and we can still reach that.". Ok, a target of 4 points going into the tournament is fine, but after the skelping we took off the Germans, surely the mindset had to change, and consider that goal difference might just come into play? For me, he should've then been looking for 6 points from the 2 remaining games.
However, we go into the Hungary game now desperately in need of a win, in order to have a chance of qualifying. So we're going to be going right at them, right? Hungary will also be coming at us, as only a win gives them a chance of qualifying! I couldn't believe what i was watching in that game. Both teams sitting off each other for 80 minutes, until Varga was unfortunately injured, then it was as though both teams wakened up and realised that they had to try to win this.
Should we have had a penalty? There's certainly a case for it, it looked a stonewaller, but in all honesty, had we got the penalty, and gone on to win the game, and qualify, it would've been an affront to football.
Clarke isn't a bad Manager, he's just too cagey, and i feel when Dykes was ruled out, he went into a bit of a tail spin. Dykes is perfect for his tactics, Adams is good, but not quite as effective, Shankland is hopeless in his tactics. So he had to then adjust slightly, to get the best out of Adams. I feel many Scottish fans don't appreciate the work Adams put in. They're too ignorant of the game in all honesty, and felt had Shankland played, that we'd have won games. I don't quite know how, because Clarke wasn't going to change his tactical plan for Shankland, Shankland would've had to change his game, to fit into Clarkes tactical plan, and to put it simply, Shankland isn't capable of that. Both Dykes, and Adams can drop deep, and hold up play, bringing others into it, Shankland hasn't got that in his locker. SO starting Shankland would've made no difference. The only reason he may have looked more effective v Hungary, was because, by the time he came on, the game had completely opened up, and there was space to exploit.
We move onto the Nations League, and for me, Clarke has to use these games to try out different things, and different players. If we lose, we lose. The improtant thing is the World Cup Qualifiers. However, should we qualify, then i would hope he tries to win games. If it's just going to be a repeat of 2021 and 2024, then i would prefer we didn't make it to the World Cup.

They didn't get the penalty becauae the ref had not given 1 at the other end 5 minutes earlier, they were disgraceful in the first and last games, why you would wait until injury time to start attacking is beyond belief.

Cant do ok when you have players who are shite and to scared to go forward. A midfield player that plays the ball back or to the side then hides. Why they never put forrest on the way he had been playing at the end of season instead of the shite they played.
I agree. Like England, Scotland are underperforming when they get to the actual business end. Scotland played all their best football in qualifying.
