  • Casting foot impressions in the snow can be difficult. Dr. Mike shows you the easiest way to get great results. He uses dental stone to cast the foot impressions left in snow. I hope you enjoy it.

      Mike McCutcheon It worked just like in the video. The material was a bit clumpier than usual but it worked. Took about an hour before I could lift it. Thanks!

    Nice, however I couldn't help to notice that you failed to wear the proper gear without potentially contaminating a scene. If you're reading this and taking notes, he did a great representation however always remember that investigating any scene, esp. a crime scene you must always wear the proper gear. Esp whenever you're the one left in charge of taking samples, of any kind...

      @@missahole9teen8t43 Not every scene requires the use of a Tyvek suit. Disposable gloves and possibly shoe covers would suffice at this scene.

    Can snow prints be preserved with cheap super extra hold hair spray?????

      Yes. I think the pump spray would work best

    why does it have to be spray painted

    • @profmccutch
      @profmccutch  7 років тому +3

      joseph simwinga Good Question. Before you can cast the foot impression, you would need to photograph it. Without the spray paint, you would not be able to see the detail of the foot impression because it is all white without any shadows. The spray paint highlights the details of the impression so the camera can capture the foot impression properly. Without the spray paint you would just have an all white photograph with no details.
