I've been putting my foil peel videos for over a year as idea pins, and I've seen engagement on stuff that is super old. I love the evergreen nature of it. My best pin is over a year old and still is getting a ton of views. No other platform has this much shelf life.
Thank you for sharing your research here - no artist wants to take the time for this. I have NEVER understood Pinterest but I'm now willing to give it a try with your encouragement. May you be blessed with huge success & sales!
so helpful!! thanks Cathy! I find pinterest really confusing but I find all platforms confusing lately with all the similar features like shorts, idea pins, etc. Question for you: how do you cross-post content if it's a reel you made to a specific song? do you just then choose another song to use instead (on tiktok for example)?
I haven’t downloaded a reel from IG in a while but remember they won’t let you download the audio anyway? As for others, yes I usually choose another song. I know w Tiktok there are trending songs that can help your algo but I’m not aware that’s the case with Pinterest.
Thank you for the video. I used Pinterest a lot in 2016 / 2017. Through Pinterest, I've had really a lot of traffic on my blog. But then Pinterest changed and didn't bring me so much anymore. But I'll give it a try for my small business. I shoot the videos anyway. Then I can upload them there again.
Sorry to hear that! Yes maybe it’s time to give it another go. It’s changed quite a bit since then and it needs to stay competitive with the other social platforms.
I think over time it will. I have an account for my Black owned handmade candle and wax melt shop. I’ve been a verified merchant on Pinterest since January 2022 and I only had about 15 pins plus my products on Pinterest. I had a monthly impression rate of 2000. Then Juneteenth happened. My impressions jumped up to 10,000 and I got a sale. I don’t advertise that my company is Black owned on Pinterest (although I’m really starting to consider it) but I do have pictures of myself on my website. All it took was one or two people pinning my content to “Black owned” boards and my traffic exploded. Since then I have been regularly making pins and although my impressions have dipped since the Juneteenth spike, I’m still at around 6,000 over a month later. When Fall starts, candle season starts, and I’m anticipating Pinterest will bring a lot of traffic to my website. Like she said, Pinterest is a long game. I can see my Fall and Winter impressions hitting 50,000+ As of right now I only have a 4 person following that I gained during the Juneteenth spike and I’m still getting 6,000 impressions.

@@kalirally oh wow, thank you so much.
Can I post fanart on instagram or Pinterest?
If you switch your personal Pinterest to Business, does it save your boards and pins that you already had?
