I was in central Washington on the Yakima river. We had a solid flood this year so I got to look at some good fresh rocks and found lots of great stuff! #thefinders #rockhounding
Crazy how much the river has dropped, last week I found a 1.9 Lb white agate. With a big crystal pocket That one @ 7:30 does have a cool design awesome colors, thanks for the upload Gunnar.
It's so fun going river hunting on a hot day! You found some real nice stuff in there Gunnar..... I love that dark agate, I call those rootbeer chalcedony 🍺 That green one is really cool too, looks like a nice jasper/agate mix. I hope you cut it in half! I thought for a second you found a murder weapon right at the end! 😱 😄
Thanks Mitch! Wow dude I thought I found a murder weapon too! It was quite a thrill to see that image in the water lol. That dark one is one of my favorites too.
Really nice finds. The BB gun was quite a surprise. The white yuck on the rocks around the algae filled puddle was just algae that formed when the puddle was bigger, and have died and bleached as the puddle shrunk.
Thanks Julee! And thanks for the input, I will show my tumbler rocks, that’s a great idea. I’ll have a batch finished in a couple weeks :) then I’ll be putting in many of these finds :D
I sure do!! On the Yakima and low water Columbia river banks also the snake! Heck you can even find them anywhere there is new homes going in after a good rain :)
Amazing finds. Such a beautiful river with beautiful agates ! Enjoyed watching 😊
Very nice finds out there on the river, well done. River rock hunts are my favorite! Gorgeous day out there.
It’s the best isn’t it? I like being in the water. Thanks for the comment!
Chert ? Love greens and blues.
Partly blue one is cool.

Thanks Michael! Good to hear from you dude! Oh nice, 1.9 lbs! Yeah it’s been a fun year to find stuff on the river since that flood!

2:14 beautiful common opal. Maybe mixed with jasper.
Beautiful stones from the Yakima. Especially that Blue Chunk. Let us know what it looks like inside.
Randomly on my recommended page, nice video!
Thanks Duncan!

Always good to hear some nature knowledge from you Permie Bird! Yeah finding the BB gun was super weird and cool haha
You found some really gorgeous agates on this hunt! Do you ever show your tumbled rocks? I would love to see them! I hope you are doing well!

I'd love to see a before and after of tumbled or cut rocks
Such fun! We live a couple of hours away from you... would be fun to do a hunt together with my hub..awesome stuff.
Thanks Sarah! It really is a lot of fun :)
Gorgeous finds! I barely ever make it to the east side of the cascades to hound, I'm definitely going to need to make more of an effort down the road.
When you figure out what that turquoise colored stuff is I'd love to know
What part of the Yakima are you on I’m in the tri cities :) great finds keep it up!
Thanks Adam! I’m in the Yakima area. Do you find much in tri cities? I’ve wanted to check out some gravel bars on the Columbia down there.
